Fool

My tutor Jinhwan

“Happy birthday Kim Jinhwan!” Donghyuk hugged his best friend, as he met his shorter friend in the hallway at school. Jinhwan stopped up for a second, shocked, before he returned the hug.

"Thank you Donghyuk! You remembered it,” Jinhwan said surprised. After all that had been happening to him, he had no time to think about events, especially not his birthday, which was on this exact day.

“Of course I would remember my best friends birthday!” Donghyuk exclaimed. “I mean you remembered mine, and beside who can be such a bad person and forget the birthday to an important person of them?” Donghyuk finished up, smiling widely at Jinhwan.

Forgetting the birthday of an important person? Hanbin hadn't texted or called him at all today. Had Hanbin forgotten his birthday? Jinhwan sighed as he remembered the fact that he actually had never told his birthday to Hanbin, yet somehow he felt disappointed. Did Jinhwan know Hanbin's? Yet another sigh slipped his small lips, as he thought for a second. Were they really close? Honestly they actually didn’t know much about each other in details. Jinhwan had wondered how his first birthday with Hanbin would’ve been, but looking at the situation right now, he would never find out. Not only had Hanbin been away from him for a long time, but also seeing others at the same time didn’t help at all. Jinhwan glanced over at Donghyuk, who already had a worried face.

“Jinan, you're thinking of him right?” Donghyuk asked concerned.

“how did you know that?” Jinhwan asked surprise, although it wasn’t that surprising. Frankly speaking, in these past days his head has been filled with Hanbin, for better or worse, he was unsure.

“You get ugly wrinkles when you think of him,” Donghyuk said as he poked hard at Jinhwan’s forehead.

“Yahh that hurt!” Jinhwan said as he took a step back and rubbed his forehead with a fake pout, making the other laugh. Jinhwan shook his head. Now was not the time to think of Hanbin. Donghyuk, his best friend, his angel and life saviour stood in front of him and paid all his attention to him.

“Jokes aside, Jinan,” Donghyuk said as he took Jinhwan’s smaller hand. “I think you should consider your relationship with Hanbin, I mean he makes you suffer so much by being confusing and you're not allowed to do anything!” Donghyuk said frustrated, making the smaller, yet older guy look at him shocked. Donghyuk had a point, Jinhwan knew that, but Jinhwan loved Hanbin too much to actually consider that thought. Maybe it was for his own best? “I mean has anything good come out so far of you relationship? From a friends point of view, to see you frustrated most of the time,” he said, referring to the wrinkles, making Jinhwan cover them with his hands, “does make one worry!” Donghyuk pointed out.

Jinhwan chewed on the thought for a second as Donghyuk sighed. He didn’t like the way he was ordering his friend around, by his own wishes. “In the end, Jinani, its not my right to interfere. It is you and Hanbin’s business, and as I said yesterday, talk to him, that’s the best you could do,” he said smiling to his best friend.

Jinhwan thought about what happened the previous day, seeing Hanbin with Chanwoo at his house. At that time he went back without knowing what to do, and the feeling of betrayal. Jinhwan chuckled. How could he feel that, when he himself had been with Junhwe’s house, without Hanbin knowing! Did perhaps Hanbin feel jealous, or perhaps he didn’t even noticed. Either way, Jinhwan was now eager to finally concluded with himself: nothing is better than talking with Hanbin.

“You know what, I think I’ll speak to Hanbin! I will talk to him and settle things once for all,” Jinhwan said proudly as he took Donghyuk’s hand and squeezed a little. “Thank you so much for the advice, you really are the best I have,” Jinhwan smiled.

“That’s good Jinan! Sort things out with him,” Donghyuk cheered for Jinhwan, as he squeezed back. They made their greetings, before heading their own ways, toward class. Donghyuk stopped and turned to look at Jinhwan. A smile played on his lips, as he looked at his friend almost skipping down the hall. Donghyuk was happy to see his best friend be a little happier on his birthday. Honestly the whole situation with Hanbin has been a huge mess, and Donghyuk, who was suspicious in the begging, still didn’t like Hanbin that much. To see how his best friend had been broken down to the ground many time, to see his best friend being muted and couldn’t read the situation, to see his best friend being unable to do anything, other than being confused, hurt, scared, that really did break Donghyuk’s heart. How could a person even do that to another person? Maybe it was for the best that Jinhwan weren’t with him. Donghyuk bet that there existed way greater guys than Hanbin out there.

As Donghyuk couldn’t see Jinhwan anymore, he turned around, heading to his own class, but was stopped by a object taller than him. “I'm sorry,” he hurried to apologise and the other person began chuckled, making Donghyuk look up. As their eyes met, a sudden rosiness were to see on Donghyuk’s soft cheeks. “I-I'm sorry Song Yunhyeong,” Donghyuk hurried to apologies, this time more embarrassed.

Yunhyeong only laughed even more. “Yaaah, I’ve told you, you don’t need to call me this formally! We are friends,” Yunhyeong slung and arm around Donghyuk’s shoulder. Friends. Just friends. Than hurt Donghyuk that they’re only friends, but what the younger boy didn’t know was that it hurt Yunhyeong as much, if not more, to say it.

After an awkward silent where Donghyuk refused to look at Yunhyeong in embarrassment, Yunhyeong let go off Donghyuk's shoulder, blushing. “Errr anyway, ehm… Yeah you friend is Kim Jinhwan, right?” What an unbelievable stupid question Yunhyeong, he though to himself. Donghyuk nodded lightly as he looked at the flustered Yunhyeong, hiding the laughter. “Well, errr… Hanbin ha- I mean Chanwoo has arrange a surprise party to Jinhwan’s birthday today, and he wanted to invite you as well… cause well you're his best friend,” Yunhyeong said, mentally slapped himself.

Donghyuk crossed his arms and looked at him with suspicious eyes. “Okay so Chanwoo said that?” Donghyuk asked, not letting it go the fact that he found it strange. Chanwoo was the kid who had given Jinhwan glares as he got close to Hanbin, talked bad to him, and was the one Hanbin had hung out with. For him to arrange a birthday party to Jinhwan was more than suspicious.

“Okay it was Hanbin, but he uses Chanwoo as the excuse. I honestly don’t know why, but he has only told me that he’s behind it all, and I was not allowed to tell anyone at all. Anyway, I’ve never seen Hanbin this hardworking before. He hung up all the party things, he baked a cake, but it failed so ordered one, he have made the whole invitations list, and he made the food that’s going to be there, with the help of me,” Yunhyeong smiled shyly, yet charming.

Donghyuk looked shocked at Yunhyeong’s confession of Hanbin action. Hanbin had made surprise party for Jinhwan? All by himself? “But what about Chanwoo?” He asked confused. Yunhyeong looked a bit puzzled making Donghyuk more. “I mean he has been awfully a lot with Chanwoo lately?” Donghyuk asked almost angry, thinking of his friend.

Yunhyeong clapped his hands as he understood. “Ahh yeah! Hanbin had been asking Chanwoo for help with decorating, he avoided telling any of us other, but one time I caught him and he told me everything, but he haven’t been that much with Chanwoo, and I’ve been with them most of the time as well,” Yunhyeong said as he though back, not recalling anything that can seem suspicious to him.

Donghyuk's eyes widened by Yunhyeong’s statement. Has this whole thing been a misunderstanding? Had Hanbin worked this hard for a birthday party to his best friend? Donghyuk felt like a fool. He had literally encouraged Jinhwan not to be with Hanbin, cause he was a douche, as he had thought. Regret flushed all over Donghyuk as he needed to tell his best friend about it.

“Anyway, what I wanted to ask was, if you would like to join the surprise party? Since you're his best friend, and I want to see you there,” the last part was barely noticeable, and it went straight through Donghyuk.

“Wait! I need to tell Jinhwan about it!” Donghyuk hurried, wanting to stop Jinhwan form suffering over not knowing what is happening.

Yunhyeong panicked as he grabbed Donghyuk's arm. “Donghyuk-ah, I don’t think you understand the term ‘surprise party’. The point is to keep it a secret,” Yunhyeong chuckled bit, completely unaware of the situation the other is facing.

Donghyuk felt himself panic as he had the strong urge to tell his best friend everything, but a hand on his chin made his heart stop beating. Yunhyeong placed his hand under Donghyuk's chin, making Donghyuk look at him. “Donghyuk-ah, don’t tell it to your friend, after all it is a surprise party, and it means really much to Hanbin, he have worked super hard on this,” he said as he gave a generous smile.  “Well then I shall go, before class starts,” Yunhyeong said, while Donghyuk was in a trance at Yunhyeong’s movement on him. Donghyuk slowly nodded, as he honestly was confused over what just happened. Yunhyeong gave him a last smile, before he his heels and began walking away.

Donghyuk could feel his heart pound hard in his chest as he clutched hard to his left chest. What had just happened? Yunhyeong was really handsome, there’s no doubt about that. But Donghyuk should tell it to Jinhwan, Jinhwan should know about it, or is it ruining the whole plan for Hanbin? AS Donghyuk was in his thoughts, the call on his name made him look up, only to make his heart beat even more.

“Donghyuk-ah!” Yunhyeong shouted as he walked backwards, facing towards Donghyuk's direction. When the younger looked at him, Yunhyeong cupped his hands around his mouth. “I really want to see you tonight,” and with that he gave the younger a wink and turned around and went to his class. Okay Donghyuk was definitely not going to tell Jinhwan, he didn’t want anything else, but to see Yunhyeong there.

After the bell rang all the students out, Jinhwan walked with firm steps towards Hanbin.

Hanbin's head flew up when he heard Jinhwan almost song his name, making the younger smile brightly. Oh how he had missed hearing his name from the certain someone.

“Hanbin! Are yo-“ as Jinhwan was on his way to talk, Bobby called for Hanbin at the doorframe of the classroom.

“Sorry Jinhwan I need to borrow B.I for a second, “ he said as he continued talking, but now to Hanbin. “Dude we need to hurry up, the boxing trainer wont be happy if you're late this time,” he said as nodded his head towards the entrance door.

Hanbin closed his eyes in disbelief. “ he is going to give me the worst session ever, Jinhwan I'm so sorry, I have to run the coach is going to kill me!” Hanbin pouted. Jinhwan, who hadn’t caught the situation yet, blinked a few times before looking at Hanbin. And mumbled an “Ah, sure,” with a frown on his face.

Fortunately for Hanbin, the students had gone out, as well as Bobby, who did not wait for him. Hanbin leaned quickly over the table and kissed Jinhwan softly on the cheek. “Come to my house around 6, and I’ll show you something,” Hanbin said in a low voice, making shivers run down Jinhwan’s spines, and cheeks painted with a shade of pink. Jinhwan was startled by Hanbin's unpredictable kiss, and could only nod his head as a ‘yes’. Hanbin ruffled Jinhwan's hair as he walked out first, leaving Jinhwan almost shocked, but of course very happy. After all, Jinhwan hadn't had almost any contact with Hanbin this past week. Jinhwan could now finally talk to Hanbin, and things actually seemed to be quite the normal. As the small one couldn’t help but skip a few skips in a happy matter, as he was on his way home.

Hanbin had of course the plan well figured out. After the boxing he would take Jinhwan to the birthday party. Now he felt that all the guilt and regret he had, would vanish with his beloved’s happy face.

Hanbin had arrived the boxing center just a little bit late, and had the worst ever warm up, containing more than fifty push-ups, hundreds of sit-ups and generally ty things that made Hanbin too tired to even think. Hanbin could hear Bobby laugh at him for being late. His shirt was drenched in his own sweat, while the other friend was dry as a chicken. Hanbin took of his shirt, revealing his chocolate abs and walked towards his friend.

“Okay listen up here you idiot, I’ll make you do the warm up, you hear me!” Hanbin threatened his friend, who couldn’t do anything, but to laugh. Hanbin couldn’t help but chuckle along with his stupid friend. He sat down on the bench and began wrapping the sport tape around his knuckles, when he suddenly heard a voice he least wanted to hear.

“Now I know why you like hanging out with the shorty?” Junhwe said in a taunting matter, wanting attention from the other one.

Hanbin looked up, frowning at him. “Ha? What the hell are you talking about Koo Junhwe?” Hanbin asked, not really that into having to listen to him and his lies.

“Oh he didn’t tell you?” Junhwe said with darkness in his eyes, but yet again, the other gave no reaction to it. As Junhwe saw that Hanbin didn’t even flinch at his words, he realised he had to go further. “He is also tutoring me now,” he sat down beside Hanbin. “You know, Jinhwan opened a whole new world to me when it comes to studying.  We should definitely share him, or what! You have him this week, and I next and so we continue on?” Junhwe said with a huge grin on his face.

Hanbin was fast to turn towards Junhwe, “What Koo Junhwe, stop going to Jinhwan for tutoring, and stay away from him!” Hanbin nearly shouted at the other boy.

“And I would I listen to a ty rich kid like you?” Junhwe said as he leaned his body backwards and rested on his arms.

“Because Jinhwan is mine!” he said in a low voice, threatening the other one.

Junhwe swallowed his salvia, but kept his cool. “Oh wow, I didn’t know he was an object, what a good boyfriend you are, only seeing him as an object,” by this Junhwe noticed that Hanbin was taken aback for a second. Hanbin hadn't meant for Jinhwan to be classified as an object, but rather a wonderful and amazing person that made Hanbin literally want to wake up. He shook his head. This kid is only playing with his mind, and he needed to block it out. He focused on the tape wrapping as he tried his best to ignore Junhwe.

“He even paid me a visit yesterday.” June shot through Hanbin's thoughts.  “You should’ve seen shorty’s face! He was so happy, and we had so much fun aside from the studying as well,” Junhwe added as he stood up, ready to begin boxing onto a boxing bag.

Hanbin focused very hard on ignoring him.

“We sat close together,” Junhwe teased

Conceal Hanbin

“His body aroma is actually pretty nice I would love to get used to it,”

Don’t feel

“My hand around Jinhwan’s neck, it felt like a perfect match.” Junhwe noticed how Hanbin had hard time ignoring him, and decided to really pull the trigger. “I must say; I do really like his delicate white neck,” Junhwe smirked.

Hanbin stopped wrapping the tape as he looked at Junhwe with sharp eyes. Junhwe loved the way Hanbin's eyes were almost on fire as he stood up and walked closer to Junhwe. Hanbin heard his friend call for him, but he didn’t listen. He was now fully focusing on Junhwe's bull. “What did you say?” He said threatening, squinting his eyes at the fella.

“I know how slim he is at the back, how his bones shows through his pale skin. How it leaves beautifully soft shades of pink on the bare skin,” Junhwe knew how to trigger a beast to fully enough to show himself. “I know his soft spot,” obviously Junhwe hadn't come this far with Jinhwan, yet, but if this would put a final end for their relationship, he would go that far. “I made him moan far more than you could possibly think,” Junhwe smirked.

And that was the final sentence. That was enough for Hanbin to explode, and in an instant, his arm flung out, his hand hitting Junhwe in his face, making Junhwe spit blood. “You ing crazy bastard!” Hanbin said as he gave him a hard punch in the face again. well, as hard is could be without the boxing gloves. But even in this circumstance, there’s no denying how strong Hanbin really is. Hanbin, who was fully raged now, had no chance in noticing that his knuckles began bleeding. “Koo ing Junhwe,” Hanbin said punching him in the stomach the poor boy fly over to the other side. He landed onto the weights with a loud thud, followed by a loud grown. “What the hell did you just ing say?” Hanbin said as he walked with angry steps towards the boy who was lying down in pain.

“Hanbin-“ Bobby tried holding his arm tight, making Hanbin look at him with eyes that could kill. Hanbin stopped for a second, breathing heavily, as Bobby held tighter and tighter for each second.

“Listen to me buddy, its not worth picking up a fight for, at least not in here,” Bobby breathed heavy as well. “You could get kicked out of the gym,” Bobby continued as he tried to calm down his best friend. In a second, it looked like Hanbin actually considered Bobby's words, but that was until Hanbin heard a small growl followed by a small chuckle. Before Bobby could even open his mouth, Hanbin shoved him forcefully into the bench and walked over to Junhwe, who had used the opportunity to get up.

To Junhwe’s advantage, he had the boxing gloves, as he smirked at Hanbin. “What? How does it feel knowing that you're replaceable?” he said as he gave Hanbin a fistful punch in his stomach.

“Did you know Jinhwan cried?” he asked as he punched Hanbin's face with a solid fist.

“You know what I hate the most? That guys like you can get whatever they want, and treat it like a toy,” he said as he Hanbin another solid punch on the other side of his face.

“And to use Jinhwan, the person I love, as a toy is definitely not okay!” he said, giving Hanbin an uppercut, making the other fall backwards, and blood followed. Junhwe was ready to punch Hanbin even more, as he felt anger got released, but the coach had finally took notice of the battle, and rushed to stop Junhwe.

As Jinhwan finally came by the doorstep of Hanbin's house he knocked on the door. It took some time for Hanbin to open, and in that mean time Jinhwan brushed off his cloths from dirt and dust, with a huge smile across his face. The smile soon faded as the door opened and a cold gaze of the person he loves, met him. Jinhwan's eyes widened at the sight of Hanbin's face. His handsome face was a bit bruised and had a plaster on his left chin. Had something happened to him? Well in boxing, things like this can happen, right?

“H-hey,” Jinhwan said shyly, as all he could do was to look down at the welcome matt. Hanbin wasn’t to eager to answer, making Jinhwan look a bit up, only to make his jaw drop. Jinhwan rushed to hold Hanbin's hands as he saw Hanbin had bandaged it, but blood piled through it. Okay that is not the most usual as far as Jinhwan could recall from Hanbin's previous trainings. “W-What happened Hanbin? Are you okay?” Jinhwan asked shocked. His mind was filled with concern over the other boy.

Hanbin only tore his hand away from Jinhwan's grip. “Nothing,” he said stern. Hanbin was a strong built man, and even though he got several solid punches, he still recovered fast. Yet, the wounds would mark his body for some time. Jinhwan who had grown huge wrinkles in concern knew that it wasn’t just ‘nothing’. “Hanbin please tell me what happened,” Jinhwan said with sorrow in his voice.

“You know I went boxing today so stop worrying,” he said mildly annoyed as he tore his jacket off the hook and took it on. He walked passed Jinhwan and out to the street, leaving Jinhwan more confused and angry. Jinhwan mumbled to himself annoyed as he followed Hanbin.

"Hanbin I'm not an idiot! I know these scars,” he said as he touched his face, but Hanbin turned around “and this bleeding, did not happen from a casual training, so please tell me what happened!” Jinhwan burst out, angry and tired of Hanbin, making Hanbin stop in his track and breath for a moment.

Hanbin stood for a second and remembered Jinhwan's small touch on his plaster, how soft and good it felt, but he couldn’t get blinded by this boys actions.

"You want to know what happened?” Hanbin asked, still his back facing the smaller.  “This is what happens when the person you thought you were close to, goes behind you back,” Hanbin burst out while he turned to Jinhwan, making Jinhwan jump in shock.

"W-what are you talking about? Who betrayed you?” Jinhwan asked even more concerned.

"You did! Sleeping around with others, and specifically Junhwe!” Hanbin burst out facing Jinhwan, making Jinhwan pale.

Hanbin began walking down the road, making Jinhwan follow him in anger. “Where the hell have you gotten that from??” Jinhwan asked dejected over Hanbin's statement.

“And I didn’t know I was this easy to replace!” Hanbin shouted out. “then again, I bet you used your pretty face to seduce other,” Hanbin mumbled, but it was still heard by the other one. "Hanbin what are you talking about?" Jinhwan said upset, biting his lip to prevent himself from letting the tears fall down by the others harsh words. How could Hanbin even think that Jinhwan would replace him?

"For god sake Hanbin, I haven’t replaced you at all, how could I? I mean if we are to talk about replacement, then I am the one that have been replaced by Chanwoo all this time! Without you even telling me so!" With that Hanbin became silent became silent. From Jinhwan's point of view it would definitely look like he had been replaced.

Jinhwan breathed out, controlling his anger. “So where have you heard this stupid theory of me sleeping around with others?” Jinhwan asked mildly angry.

“Koo ing Junhwe told me that himself!” Hanbin spitted the words out.

“For goodness sake Hanbin! I was tutoring him! Nothing more or less happened! The furthest he came was to confess to me, but I never did anything nor say yes!” Jinhwan shouted at him. As the two of them both took a moment to catch their breath, silence fell over the empty streets that only contained the two of them.

In all the silence, Hanbin suddenly whispered pissed "why would you do that?"

“Do what?” Jinhwan asked.

“Why would you tutor him, of all the people?” Hanbin said angry as he began walking away from his house.

Jinhwan frowned in anger as Hanbin began walking again. Jinhwan couldn’t believe what he just heard. Hanbin had asked him that? Was Hanbin really the right one to ask such? "Oh okay I get it now,” he said as he crossed his arms. “Bu tone thing I don’t get is why can't I do anything while my own boyfriend lied to me, involved others, and keeps on hanging around with another guy all the time?" Hanbin ignored Jinhwan and kept on walking. Unfortunately, Jinhwan had a point, but Hanbin were too pissed at the moment to let it slide.

Jinhwan walked with firm steps after Hanbin. “Yah Kim Hanbin! Don’t you walk away when I talk to you!” Jinhwan shouted after the angry Hanbin who wouldn’t even look at him.

“Why are you so ing annoying?” Hanbin mumbled low, but loud enough for Jinhwan to explode even more.

“YAH! You seriously are so rude! Why would you even sneak behind my back and be with Chanwoo? Why not just tell me?” Jinhwan shouted. As he looked around the streets, he realised they were heading towards Chanwoo’s, not making the smaller happier. “Oh great! Now were going to Chanwoo’s, how freaking amazing!” Jinhwan kept rambling angrily as Hanbin kept waking, and stopped when he came to the doorsteps to Chanwoo’s house. “You know what Kim Hanbin? Why don’t you just get together with Chanwoo anyway? You seem to enjoy his company even more!” Jinhwan finally shouted, in the same minute, Hanbin opened the door to the dark house. In a split second lights filled the room and people popped out of nowhere and shouted “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” in unions.

Jinhwan was too shocked to even utter a word. His eyes wandered from person to person and ended up with the angry Hanbin. “Happy birthday,” he muttered, and walked away. Hanbin was right, Jinhwan was filled with tears in his eyes, but not in the way he had wished, but at the moment he was too angry to even think straight. Jinhwan wanted to follow after him, but the people had already swarmed around him, making it impossible for him to break through them, not to mention that his height wasn’t much to help either. Jinhwan couldn’t do other than watching the cold back, walk further away from him.

After many thank-you’s, Jinhwan finally managed to break through as the others became more interested in the cake than the birthday kid himself, not that it actually mattered for Jinhwan. Jinhwan took this opportunity to search for Hanbin through Chanwoo’s house, only to find Hanbin outside on the balcony, underneath the starry sky. Jinhwan stood for a second and only admired Hanbin's beauty. How could he even fight so much with this young man? The man he held dearest of them all.  The man he would even dare to say he loved.

Jinhwan slowly approached him, as he walked out on the balcony made of wood, painted in white. When Jinhwan came all the way besides Hanbin, it felt like his heart stopped beating, and he held his breath. He lightly touched Hanbin shoulder as he whispered his name. “Hanbin.”

Before Jinhwan even managed to say anything further on Hanbin looked at him carefully, before letting out his hurried thought. “You know what Jinhwan, I think we were never meant for each other,” Hanbin said. At this moment it felt like everything stood still, and nothing would ever be able to move again. His last cold words hit Jinhwan like daggers. “Let’s break up.”
