My tutor Jinhwan

“Do you want to be my tutor?”

That question had Junhwe asked Jinhwan for about one hour and 27 minutes ago, and still Jinhwan hadn’t answered. Actually, after the question, Jinhwan had made a weird excuse to go home, and didn’t look behind him, as he ran straight to the bus stop. On the bus he had been totally blank, while the question had kept repeating in his head. Junhwe’s tutor? Jinhwan hadn’t actually though about being anyone else’s tutor except of Hanbin’s. But when being asked, did Jinhwan want to be anyone else’s tutor or did he enjoy being only Hanbin’s? Jinhwan must admit that the past days have been a roller coaster for him. Hanbin had been so close yet so distant, this kid Chanwoo came out of nowhere, and then he discovered that his best friend has been confessed to and then a certain Junhwe pops out and wants him to be a tutor as well.

Jinhwan shook his head. It didn’t have to be much of a roller coaster, because Jinhwan knew that the fact he liked Hanbin was a one sided love. There were no way that Hanbin could like him for real if he could easily kiss Chanwoo right after attempting to kiss him. Jinhwan sighed at the thought of Hanbin being a player. Before, Jinhwan would definitely have thought Hanbin was the biggest player in school, well all the rumours says so, but after he became his tutor and learned to know him, he realised that he is nothing like the rumours. The rumours told that he is a barsh, rough, boy who drinks and have a new lady each weekend. Jinhwan felt ashamed for believing such stupid rumour when in reality, Hanbin is kind, nice, charming, good at taking care of kids, can be silly at times and is really funny. Jinhwan sighed as he gave himself a little hope by the thought of Hanbin. He should just forget him already. Come to think about it, maybe Jinhwan should become Junhwe’s tutor, so he can forget Hanbin? No, he couldn’t do that. He couldn’t use another person for his own good, which was simply wrong of any human being. Jinhwan sighed as he closed his eyes, pushing away the thoughts and instead enjoying the bus ride, which was a little help.

Jinhwan unlocked the door to his house, and was hit with darkness. Even though he knew no one was home, he still tried: “I’m home!” echoed around in the empty house. Jinhwan sighed as, as expected, there were no answer. He settled everything in the house before walking straight up to his room and began on his homework. Even though it was his favourite subject – math – he still weren’t able to focus as his mind kept wandering back to Junhwe’s question and his previous thoughts. Should Jinhwan tutor Junhwe? What good came out of it, except using him, which wasn’t good at all. Well Junhwe could become a better student, and Jinhwan would have the pleasant feeling of helping someone. On the other hand, it would take a lot of time, and Jinhwan is busy enough with tutoring Hanbin, along with his on studies. Maybe he should cut out Hanbin’s tutor lessons? But that meant Jinhwan wouldn’t have any occasions to see Hanbin, and Jinhwan didn’t want that. He loved spending time with Hanbin, either if it was at home tutoring, in the kindergarten to pick up Hanbyul, the mall to shop supplies, literally any place would be perfect as long as he was with Hanbin. To conclude it all, Jinhwan couldn’t cut Hanbin out.

Jinhwan was deep in his thoughts as he suddenly heard the door opened and Jinhwan was quick on his feet. He ran downstairs as he saw his sister carried on three plastic bags with supplies. When she sat the bags down to take a short breath, Jinhwan ran up to her and hugged her. A bit startled, she hugged him back. She knew that Jinhwan was sick worried for her because of college drop out and her three jobs. They let go as Jinhwan carried two of the bags to the kitchen. “Sei Yeon!” Jinhwan called for his sister from the kitchen. She walked in with the two other bags and answered with a ‘hmmm?’. Jinhwan began to pack out of the bag as he continued: “When is mom coming home today?” he asked.

Sei Yeon looked up at her younger brother for a second. She saw how there was a shimmer of hope in his eyes; that their mother would be home for at least one dinner. “Jinan, I’m sorry, but mom won’t be home until around 2AM and I don’t think we should stay up so late and wait for her,” she trailed off, watching Jinhwan’s disappointment fall over his face.

Jinhwan felt as if a rock had hit him as he heard his sisters’ words. “B-but I thought she was coming home earlier today, around 10PM,” he said as his voice nearly cracked at the end. Yes, Jinhwan was more than disappointed. All he wanted was to have a dinner with his mom and sister for once. But then again, he understood why she couldn’t. His mother was always busy working at the hospital, and because of that, Jinhwan and Sei Yeon had learned to raise themselves. Because Sei Yeon is six years older than Jinhwan, Jinhwan has always felt like she is his second mom. Up through the years, she has always watched over Jinhwan and took care of him, as his mother couldn’t, and even though Jinhwan is now 18 years old and can take care of himself, he will always go back to his sister no matter what.

“Yeah Jinhwan I’m sorry,” she said as she hugged him, knowing Jinhwan was on the verge to cry. As Jinhwan isn’t the tallest boy, Sei Yeon and him was about the same height, making Jinhwan bend down a bit to rest on her shoulder. Jinhwan wanted to cry, but no tears came, after all, he was used to it, and he shouldn’t be expecting too much.

“C’mon let’s go and eat dinner now, I’ll prepare it if you help me,” she teased, as if Jinhwan was 10 years old. Jinhwan chuckled at he unpacked the rest of the bag and they began cooking together.

As dinner was ready with freshly made, with kimchi, rice and soup, the two siblings sat down and started to eat. Jinhwan felt like he was in heaven, when he slurped down the soup. Nothing was like his sisters cooking. Sei Yeon chuckled a bit before turning serious. “Yah Kim Jinhwan! Don’t slurp like that, you spill out on the sides!” she said trying to sound strict, but as they made eye contact, both began laughing.

Jinhwan dried around his mouth as he nodded his head. “Yes sir! Yes sir!” he said excitingly as he took another bite from his food.

Sei Yeon couldn’t help but stare at her brother, in happiness. She was more than happy that her brother could attend college and have fun, which reminded her. “How is school? You work hard, harder than before? Seems like you have a lot of work,” she said as she took a bite of her food, before looking curiously at him. She wondered how school was and how much work you needed. It doesn’t go one day without the regret of dropping out takes over her mind, yet she still can’t go to school, as her family, even her mom, depends on her three jobs. Sei Yeon looks at Jinhwan who is swallowing his food, ready to answer. She ever since Jinhwan decided to work harder in school; she has always felt guilt for making him like this. She knows that Jinhwan wants to implement high school with good grades and then continue to the best college, because she couldn’t, and then he will have a great job so he can help his family, yet she feels bad. A young boy like him shouldn’t be thinking about his family, but rather to explore the world and live as a teenager.

At the mention of Jinhwan working more than usual, Jinhwan almost chocked his food. Jinhwan had never mentioned that he had become a tutor for someone in class, and he definitely did not tell the reason. “Well uh, there’s been quite more tasks now, more than expected, and so I have to work more,” he lied. The year so far had been relatively chill, but since he is tutoring Hanbin, it had taken quite a lot of time from him, a time he doesn’t regret at all. Jinhwan lowered his head as he remembered the offer Junhwe had.

Sei Yeon noticed immediately that something was wrong. She didn’t know what bothered her brother, but she wanted to lighten up the mood around the table a bit. “Jinan ´, why so down suddenly? Don’t tell you a girl broke your heart?” she chuckled, and Jinhwan was quick to react. His head went fast up and his eyes searched for her. Sei Yeon couldn’t help but laugh at her silly brother who by now was red as a tomato. “Ahhh you’re blushing, perhaps you confessed but she wasn’t interested?” she laughed, making Jinhwan unable to speak.

“Y-Yah! That’s not true!” he said furious as redness didn’t hide his embarrassment. “I never mentioned a girl, d-did I?” he asked, but the only response was a hysterical laugh from his sister. Jinhwan leaned back onto his chair, smiling. Finally his sister smiled and laughed upon arriving home. Jinhwan knew that having three jobs, do take a lot of energy, and all he wants for his sister is her to always keep the smile.

As the laughter died down, a yawn took over unexpectedly. She stood up as she was ready to take her plat, but Jinhwan was quick to stop her. “Don’t worry noona, I will take it. I’m going to study more before going to bed, you can just go to bed,” he said as he smiled. She smiled back thankfully, though she was worried that he might stay up and wait for their mother, though she let it slip this time. They said their good nights as she headed up to her bedroom and Jinhwan to the kitchen to continue on the dishes.

After finishing the dishes, he sat down on the kitchen table and began to study. This time he was focused and ready to study as he never had been. He wanted to make his mother and sister proud, and therefor he needed to work hard. After sometime with math, the numbers suddenly jumped out of the book and shifted places, as a sign for Jinhwan’s tiredness. His eyelids became heavy, as he couldn’t hold them up any longer, and with that his eyes closed and body went to sleep.

As the door unlocked at 2.17AM, a tired and sleepy mother came inside of the house. Yoo Eun Ah, mother of the two siblings, stumbled her way in as fast as her tired feet could carry her. Even though she was tired, she still noticed the faint light coming from the kitchen. Who was up at this time, was a mystery, which was to be solved as she waked into the kitchen. As she looked at the sleeping figure sitting on the kitchen chair with head rested in a math book, she felt guilt as well as she felt touched. Her beautiful son had been staying up, waiting for her while studying. She sighed as she got a blanked to cover him. She leaned down and kissed his forehead. “You make me so proud.”

On his way to school, Jinhwan had only been focusing on Junhwe’s question. It was now or never. He needed to answer. Should he stay at Hanbin’s, or should he become Junhwe’s tutor? Obviously he couldn’t tutor both, as it would take too much time from him. What outcome would it have choosing Junhwe? He barely knew him, but he could always get to know him. The only problem was that Jinhwan knew he would use Junhwe to get over Hanbin, as Hanbin would probably be too busy with Chanwoo and breaking his heart, and Jinhwan didn’t want to use anyone. He sighed, as he had to figure this out, before doing something stupid. As he knew the tutor lesson was most likely cancelled today as well, Jinhwan had finally time to study for his own sake now.

As the school bell rang in the class, the halls emptied. Jinhwan was about to go in, with the huge crowd, but suddenly felt a strong arm around his wrist, dragging him out of the crowd and to the corridor.  Jinhwan had a hard time understanding what had just happened, and chilled ran down his spine as soon as he noticed who had dragged him out of the crowd. “You and me are ditching class right now,” Hanbin said in a low voice. Jinhwan could only gulp as a response. Pissed Hanbin was still terrifying Jinhwan, and it reminded him of the days Hanbin bullied him.

As all the students had made their way into the classroom and the corridor was empty for any souls except of Hanbin and Jinhwan’s, silence fell upon the room, soon followed by a massive slam sound. Hanbin pressed Jinhwan against the locker, asking:  “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” This had Jinhwan puzzled. First of all, the way Hanbin treated him in the current situation had Jinhwan confused, as well as his question.

“What are you talking about?” Jinhwan asked as eh struggled to get away from Hanbin’s grip.

“Who said you could be with Junhwe?” Hanbin said pissed. Jinhwan was still puzzled and had given up on getting away from Hanbin’s grip. Jinhwan looked into Hanbin’s eyes and couldn’t understand why Hanbin was so angry, and why he would do this. As he stared into Hanbin’s orbs, he realised the situation and felt the anger bubble inside of him.

“What the hell Hanbin?! Why can’t I go near him? Its not like you’re the one to decide!” Jinhwan shot back at Hanbin. What was wrong with him being with Junhwe, when Hanbin could go around kiss other? Beside it was not like they were a thing at all!

Ignoring the question of the smaller, Hanbin fired back: “who the said it was okay for you to go around being everyone’s tutor?”

At first Jinhwan was confused, but he soon realised what had happened. Jinhwan’s eyes widened at the realisation, as he couldn’t control his anger. “OH MT GOD KIM HANBIN! Where you spying on us?” He spat at Hanbin. “That’s so disrespectful and rude! Why on earth would you?” he asked furious as redness took over his face, not by embarrassment, but by anger.

Hanbin was a bit taken aback by Jinhwan’s question, but soon got back to the situation, as he walked a bit away, trying to collect himself. He felt anger bubble inside of his veins and didn’t know what to say. Yes he hadn’t the right to spy on them, and yes Jinhwan was actually allowed to be with others, but the thought and sight of Jinhwan walking alongside with another person, especially Koo Junhwe, Hanbin felt nothing but anger. He couldn’t describe it, but he wanted to punch Junhwe’s pretty face. The sight of those two yesterday, woke up feelings in Hanbin, which he never had felt before, and it was not good ones. “For s sake!” Hanbin shouted as he anger takes over and with a solid punch, his fist were in the locker, right beside Jinhwan’s precious head. Jinhwan gasped as he had nearly been hit my Hanbin, and he felt cold sweat ran down his back.

Hanbin let his fist rest in the locker, locking Jinhwan under him. After a short while in silence, Hanbin spoke up, looking at the floor. “I saw you two walking together, so I got curious,” Hanbin said in a low tone, making Jinhwan angry. That’s his ing answer? Cause he was curious? Is that a reason to spy on someone? And why on earth would he even spy on them?

“And that gives you the right to spy on us?” Jinhwan asked angry, demanding answer.

Hanbin felt even more anger bubble inside of him. Why was Jinhwan being so ing stubborn? Couldn’t he just answer normally? Couldn’t he just understand what Hanbin meant? “I don’t want you near Junhwe,” Hanbin said in a dangerously low voice through greeted teeth, as he was close Jinhwan’s face, almost resting his forehead against Jinhwan’s.

Jinhwan gulped as he noticed the anger in his voice, and whether or not Jinhwan should say this, he still wanted to test Hanbin’s limit. “And why is that?” Jinhwan spat back at him. “Besides it’s not like we are anything for you to stop me!” said sarcastically, in a low voice as well.

“Oh really?” Hanbin said as his head leaned closer to Jinhwan’s, and their noses touched lightly. Jinhwan closed his eyes at how close Hanbin was as his heart skipped a beat. They had been this close once, but the circumstances had been totally different. Hanbin looked at him dangerously. “Really Jinhwan, really?” he said as it sent shivers down his spine. Their lips were a few inches a part, and even though all Jinhwan wanted was to kiss him, he couldn’t.

“You tell me now why I shouldn’t go near him?” Jinhwan said as he pushed Hanbin away from him, yet Hanbin stayed the same spot, only a few inches away this time.

Hanbin bite his lips as he looked from Jinhwan’s lips to his eyes. “Because he is a fake and will turn his back on you, he only wants you as his toy, and nothing more,” Hanbin said cold.

“Well I have heard things about you as well” Jinhwan said. Hanbin rolled his eyes. “And I’ve seen things as well!” Jinhwan didn’t know how he dared to press this out, yet he had the confidence.

Hanbin leaned a bit backwards, looking confused at him. “Seen what?” he snorted.

Jinhwan rolled his eyes. “Why even bother playing innocent, we both know that at the amusement park something was about to happen, and the next day you go around kissing other? You’re only playing with me! That’s uncool Hanbin!” Jinhwan said angrily as he replayed the painful memory.

“What the hell are you talking about? I haven’t kissed a damn thing!” Hanbin shouted, as he couldn’t recall any kissing scene, except the one with Jinhwan that never happened.

“Then what was that all about Chanwoo? Under the staircase? Or do you kiss so many that you forget who you kiss?” Jinhwan spat making Hanbin surprised. The staircase? Some days ago? That wasn’t a kiss, far form it actually, rather a confrontation to stop Chanwoo from being annoying little brat. Wait, why would Jinhwan know about that? Could it be? “Jinhwan, did you spy on us?” Hanbin suddenly asked confused looking directly at Jinhwan. Jinhwan’s face turned completely red, and this time from embarrassment.

“N-no! I happened to see you two and I thought y-you were k-kissing,” Jinhwan said, avoiding looking into Hanbin’s eyes.

“You were spying on us! Oh god I cant believe it!” Hanbin began to laugh, making Jinhwan angry.

“Well so you did kiss him?” Jinhwan asked out in annoyance not looking at Hanbin. Hanbin felt a sudden calmness fall upon him, as it turned out that Jinhwan had been jealous of them all along, making Hanbin both happy and sad. Happy cause Jinhwan cared for him, maybe in that way, and sad because Jinhwan had gotten the wrong messages.

“No I never kissed him, why would I?” Hanbin told, as Jinhwan was yet not convinced.

“Then why did you lean closer to him?” Hanbin chuckled at Jinhwan.

“We were just talking, nothing more,” Hanbin explained. Jinhwan still weren’t looking at Hanbin. Hanbin smirked as he looked at Jinhwan’s lips. “But one thing I maybe want to kiss is…” he trailed of as both of them heard the sound of high heels clacking towards the floor. They looked at each other and both panicked. . “WE have tutor lesson today whether you want or nor!” Hanbin said as he ran away, leaving Jinhwan totally blank. Had they just fought? Had Hanbin wanted to kiss him?

School day went on normally, or as normally as you could get it after Jinhwan’s incidence with Hanbin. Still, Jinhwan managed to focus throughout the classes, but as soon as the bell rang to freedom, Jinhwan was terrified. What would possible happen to him during the lesson. No he was not going to think like this. It was going to be a totally normal tutor lesson. And so it turned out to be as they usually were at lessons, well at least fro Jinhwan.

Jinhwan focused on the math task and many possible ways to rearrange the task so it would be easier for Hanbin to understand, at the same time as he tried to avoid Hanbin. There were still a bit of tension between them, due to the incidence that took place earlier. Hanbin on the other hand, who should be focusing on the math, couldn’t take his eyes off Jinhwan. Of course Hanbin had noticed his heart shaped mole underneath right eye, and of course he had noticed how small the little guy really is, and he had noticed how his hair falls slightly to he left side, not much, but enough for Hanbin to notice. But in this exact time, it felt like he had discovered it all over again, for the first time, and was looking at a unique creature. His milky pale skin shone as the yellow light from the lamp hit his arm that was comfortably resting on the table. Hanbin couldn’t help but feel weird looking at the smaller boy. He doesn’t know what exactly it is, but he knows there is something.

Before Hanbin were able to connect to the rest of the body, his mouth suddenly opened and the words flew out, interrupting the silence that had lasted for quite some time – at least for Hanbin. “Can I try something out?”. For a split second, Jinhwan was startled by the sudden interruption of his focus, but as soon as the curiosity from his question hit him, Jinhwan shrugged his shoulders and nodded. He notices how Hanbin went quit for a while, and silence once again fell upon them. Had Hanbin talked to himself or? Wondering if Hanbin would ever talk, Jinhwan tried to help him. "Are yo-" "stand up" Hanbin cut off in a low voice, looking at is feet. Jinhwan looked at him for a while before he gave up trying to understand what Hanbin thought and did what he said. What could possibly Hanbin have come up with now?

"Go to the middle of the room" Hanbin said still not looking at Jinhwan. His eyes were locked to the floor, thinking really hard. Jinhwan went to the middle of the floor and stood there looking at Hanbin who where deep in his thoughts. Thoughts like, Should I do this? What am I thinking? What outcome will come from this? had corrupted Hanbin’s head. Jinhwan as patently as he was, stood there in silence and waited for Hanbin to do or say something. Suddenly, Hanbin sat quietly up, eyes still locked to the floor. He then slowly approached Jinhwan, as if he was think whether or not he should do this, and stood right in front of him. "I...” he paused as he took a deep breath. “Can I?" continued. Unsure what he meant, Jinhwan nodded. What am I doing? Slowly Hanbin put his hand behind Jinhwan's waist and pulled him a bit closer. It was his body speaking now; his mind had long gone stopped function.

 Closer and closer.

Hanbin still hadn't looked at Jinhwan, while Jinhwan, the little boy who was unsure what was going on; his heart was about to explode. He may or may not have imagined things with Hanbin but shake it off in the minute it appeared, but now, in real life, it actually happening. Hanbin is standing in front of him, this close. Jinhwan took a small breath, in hopes to collect him. He didn’t want this to end like the amusement park and at the school.

Hanbin tenderly Jinhwan’s arm as he focused on his movement. He hadn’t realised what he really was doing, but for some reason he enjoyed it. How many times hadn’t Hanbin imagined that Jinhwan would be here, alone with him – except when they’re having a tutor lesion, which they actually have now -, and just touch him, even it was only a , he would be pleased. Hanbin’s arm around Jinhwan’s waist brought him even closer.

They're so close that Jinhwan could feel Hanbin’s warm breath, but it's not uncomfortable, not at all. In fact, he enjoyed it, still confused about what's happening.

"Can I?" Hanbin asked in a whisper as Jinhwan's shirt. Jinhwan slowly nods, a bit unsure of what's actually happening. Hanbin starts to the shirt. One by one the buttons are ed and he slowly starts to take of Jinhwan’s shirt. His lips have never been closer and Jinhwan thinks that they almost touch soon. Hanbin finally looks at Jinhwan with both a scared, curious and tender look. Jinhwan closes his eyes in the thought of what was about to happen. They leaned in, and were even closer than they were before. Did he mention that he could feel his breath? Well now he could swear that their lips for a brief second touched.

Hanbin closed his eyes as well, as he felt a pair of smooth lips on his own and butterflies filled their stomachs. Jinhwan’s lips were as small compared to his as he had imagined, but they felt wonderful. Jinhwan was startled at first, but as soon as Hanbin led the kiss, Jinhwan let it go with the flow. Their lips moved in sync, in peace and harmony. Jinhwan almost melted into the kiss, as Hanbin put one arm around Jinhwan’s small waist, pulling him slowly closer to him. The warmth of Hanbin’s mouth sent a current running through Jinhwan’s body. As the kiss grew more passionate, Jinhwan place his arms around Hanbin’s neck as he lost himself in Hanbin’s mint breath and plumb lips.

Suddenly a itchy feeling were to feel in Jinhwan’s lower lip, and he opened his mouth in pain, Hanbin used this opportunity to sip in his tongue. Jinhwan was a bit startled at first and opened his eyes, only to find a passionate Hanbin. Jinhwan closed his eyes again as their tongues fought for dominance, where Hanbin were the winner. Hanbin began Jinhwan’s tongue, send electric shock of pleasure down Jinhwan’s body. Jinhwan moaned at Hanbin’s action, making Hanbin satisfied. They let go for a mere second, to catch their breaths again as the looked at each other. Hanbin breathed like crazy, looking at how beautiful Jinhwan was. “ Jinhwan,” Hanbin said as he crashed his lips onto Jinhwan’s again and Jinhwan couldn’t enjoy it more. That was until.

“KIM HAN BIN!” a dark, loud and powerful voice interrupted the silence and tore the two apart. Jinhwan feet tangled, trying to get away from Hanbin, and fell in his with a loud thump. Hanbin’s father, who had suddenly barged in, looked from Hanbin to Jinhwan with angry eyes. In the minute he saw his shirt was off, Jinhwan could swear there was fire in his eyes. “Kim Hanbin, I will talk to you, NOW!” he shouted. He marched out of the room expecting Hanbin to follow him. Hanbin looked terrified at Jinhwan and Jinhwan wasn’t less scared.
