Jihyo sigh to herself as she stares to the empty ceiling. It’s been few hours since she started lying on the bed, yet she couldn’t sleep at all. She doesn’t even remember how many time she rolls on the bed, trying to catch some sleep. But all of her effort fails. Every time she tries to close her eyes, her mind will start thinking about gary. It’s her second night here, in a so called safe house. Jihyo’s not complaining to be here though. She doesn’t mind at all. And to know that this house actually once belongs to gary’s family, her heart feels warm. At least she feels like she’s taking a step into his past, and she love it. She loves to know everything about the man she loves. But something about him is bothering her though. And she’s restless thinking about it. Jihyo can feels gary trying to distance himself from her. Every time jihyo tries to touch him, he will pull away. Every time jihyo try to talk about how she feels seeing him again, gary will changes the subject. And it kills her from inside seeing him like that. It’s like he’s a different person now. At first, jihyo thought gary must be worrying about their safety, with people trying to hurt them. She thought gary’s just not it the mood. But she realise it’s something else. It’s within him. Jihyo knows something must have happened that make him to act like that. “what happen? Why does he try to push me away? Is he moving on from me?” jihyo shook her head to dismiss the thought. The thought that he’s moving on from her, wanting to give up their love is something that she’s afraid of. She doesn’t want to lose him. She doesn’t want to give up on him. Tired of thinking by herself, jihyo gave up on her attempt to go to sleep. She gets off from the bed. She decides to check on gary. She walks herself downstairs with a blanket engulfing her petite body.

Jihyo reach downstairs. She scans the entire floor looking for any sign of gary. And there he is, her beloved gary is sitting on a chair in the living room alone. She walks to him only to notice he’s sleeping on the chair, with his gun tightly in his grip. Jihyo’s heart feels heavy as she saw him like that. It broke her heart to see her beloved gary sleep like that. She knows how uncomfortable and cold he must have been. Jihyo bring the blanket that she had earlier to wrap gary’s body with it. She doesn’t him in to be in cold and yet, she doesn’t want to wake him up. She knows he’s tired. So she moves her hands slowly, making sure her movement doesn’t wake gary up. Jihyo sigh as she looks at his face “it must be very hard on you right?” jihyo mumble to herself as she looks at his tired face. Unable to resist herself, jihyo land a soft peck on gary’s forehead. Unknowingly, her eyes get watery as her lips land on his. It’s been a really long time since her lips land on him. Unfortunately, with the soft kiss from her, gary begin to open his eyes. Gary open his heavy eyes as he scans his surroundings. He notices jihyo hovering near him. Her face is so close to him it makes him miss being around her like that. “jihyo-ah, are you okay?” gary asks jihyo as he notices her red eyes. “is the bed not comfortable?” gary ask worriedly. Of course he’s worried about her. Even if he acts like want to distance about her, he still cares for her, he still loves her, always. “aniya oppa. The bed is fine” jihyo just answer him softly. Her eyes never leave him. “are you hungry? I can make you some food” gary said to jihyo while trying to get up. Truthfully, he’s trying to avoid her gaze, the beautiful gaze that make him fall for her over and over again, that’s why he gets up. Jihyo holds onto gary’s hand, asking him to stop. Gary looks at her. He can see she’s thinking by herself for a while. “Oppa, can we talk? There something I’ve been meaning to ask you oppa?”. Gary sigh as hear that from her, yet he nods to her request. Jihyo has decided. She wants to have a good talk with gary, to clear things up between him. He brings himself to seat on the floor, to be on the same level with her.

“what is it? Is something wrong?” gary ask jihyo as if he doesn’t know what’s going on. “you oppa. what’s wrong with you? did I do something wrong oppa?” jihyo ask gary with her soft voice, and yet there is sound of desperation in her voice, desperate for an answer, desperate for him. “neh?” gary respond to her with a confuse look on his face. “there something about you change oppa. I can feel you trying to distance yourself from me. Aren’t you happy to see me?”. Gary sigh at her question, of course he’s happy to see her again, but he thinks she belongs to someone else now. He thinks her heart belong to jongkook, yet doesn’t want to talk about that right now, so he tries to change the subject. “you know why jihyo. You know how in danger are we…”. “I know it’s not about that oppa” jihyo cut him off. She him too well that he’s trying to change the topic to talk about something else. Gary just looks at her. Jihyo too stare at him. She doesn’t want to give up. She wants to know the truth now. Gary sigh as he saw how persistent his woman can be. He decided to give in to her. Gary begin to speak up slowly “you know how I respect jongkook hyung right? You know I won’t betray him”. “neh?” jihyo’s confuse to hear that, shock at the same time. What does jongkook oppa got anything to do with this. “I know you’re with jongkook hyung now. And I’am happy for both…”. “oppa!!!” jihyo cut him off, slightly raising her voice to him. She doesn’t want gary to finish his sentence. She doesn’t want to hear that word. Jihyo holds onto gary’s hand as she begins to speak. “oppa…there’s nothing between me and jongkook oppa. You know we’re just friend. Where did you get the idea that I’m with him?”. Gary grip on jihyo small hand tighter to reassure her. “gwenchana jihyo-ah. I just want you to be happy”. Jihyo feels restless hearing him. She doesn’t want to lose him. She doesn’t what him to give up on her. “I saw you and jongkook hyung kissing jihyo” gary said to her with a heavy voice. Jihyo shock upon hearing that. She curses herself for letting jongkook kiss her that night. She shouldn’t let that happen in the first place. Just then, another realization struck her. Gary saw here? That mean he was in Seoul? Why doesn’t he look for her? She feels like in a roller coaster now. Her heart is pounding hard. Jihyo look at gary deep in the eye. She inhales a deep breath before she continues to speak up again. Gary just wait for to speak up. She holds onto gary’s hand even tighter. She doesn’t want to lose him anymore. She wants to fight for him once and for all. “I get it oppa. you’re a fighter. You’ve always been a fighter. Growing up without a family, you suffer a lot. And that make you stronger oppa. And when you grow up, you decide to fight for this country, so you joint the military. And now, you fight for me. You wanted to make sure that I’m safe. That I’m happy. So you keep on fighting for me. Even if you have to destroy yourself, you’ll fight for me. Because you’re a fighter” jihyo pause herself as she feels heavy to speak in between her sobs. Gary heart shattered as he saw her crying. He wants hug her to keep her calm but jihyo push him away. She doesn’t want to give up. She wants to fight for him. She can’t lose him. “But oppa. there’s one fight that you forgot to do oppa. The fight that I need you to win” jihyo continue in between her hard sobs. Tears never stop flowing from her eyes as she still trying to speak. Gary wait for her to finish, even if himself begin tearing. “I need you to fight for us oppa. please oppa. fight for us. For both of us can be happy together”. Unable to fight with himself anymore, gary gather jihyo into his arm, pulling her into his embrace. He hugs her tight while jihyo keep on sobbing in his embrace. “there’s nothing going between me and jongkook oppa. you have to trust me oppa. You have to trust me. I pushed him away. It’s always been you oppa. my heart heart always belongs to you kanggary” jihyo beg for him to trust her. She needs gary to know that there’s nothing between her and jongkook. “I trust you jihyo. I’m sorry” gary hold on her tighter, to reassure her, to calm her from the hard crying. “I promise I’ll fight for us jihyo-ah. I promise I won’t leave you alone anymore” gary said to the still crying jihyo, promising her that he won’t left her anymore. Promising that he’ll always be with her.

Jihyo lie herself on top of gary while he wraps her up for comfort. It’s been too long ever since the last time they lie lazily on the sofa with nothing to do. Tired from all the crying, jihyo cling her body to gary like a child, trying to ease her heart. She’s relieve that all of their misunderstanding cleared up. She’s relieve to know gary promises to stay by her side, forever. Gary keep on rubbing jihyo’s back while being in his embrace, trying to pat he down to sleep. “I love you songjihyo, always” gary whisper to her, not wanting to wake her up. “I love you too oppa” jihyo mumble softly while hugging gary tighter. Gary chuckle at her. “I thought you’re already fall asleep”. Jihyo chuckle to his words too “I thought I was too, until I heard that lovely voice of you oppa” jihyo said to him teasingly. They both giggle in each other embrace. “oppa…” jihyo said softly as she suddenly stops laughing. “yes…” gary paid attention to her, seeing her mood suddenly turn serious again. He wonders what’s in her mind. “what exactly happen oppa. I mean what really going on? First you left because you said you need to protect me. I was hurting so much when you left. Then you come back and said I was in danger. Then, the next thing I know I heard Gil oppa is in the hospital. Oppa, I’m really glad you come back. I really do. But I’m so confuse right now. What exactly going on?”. Gary mumps his lips together as hear the question. He thought to himself if he should tell her what’s really going on. At first he thought it’s better for jihyo to know less, thinking it might be safer for her that way. But now, jihyo is already in the middle of it. It’s better for her to know the truth. Gary push jihyo a little for them to have a seat on the long sofa. Gary bring his hand jihyo’s long silky hair, to ensure her to trust him. He inhales a deep breath while trying to figure out what to say to his beloved girlfriend. He holds onto her hand as he does so. Jihyo knows that, she brings her hand a gary’s left chin, telling him she trusts him. “do remember songjongki?” gary suddenly speak up. Jihyo frown as the mention the name. Of course she knew him. He was once one of her client. But what does he got anything to do with this. “he’s an assassin jihyo-ah”. “what?” jihyo ask in shock. Too shock with the sudden realization. “remember my friend choiza, the one that we went to funeral too?” jihyo nods to gary’s words. “he’s the one who killed him jihyo-ah”. Jihyo can’t believe what she just heard. “I don’t know it was him at that time jihyo-ah. I was so stupid at that time. I let him approached you”. “gwenchana oppa. I’m fine right?”. Gary sigh to jihyo’s word. He knows she just wants to calm him. “remember the time I got shot?” of course jihyo remember it clearly. She’s about to pass out when she heard the news. She glad that he’s safe. “he’s the one he shot me at that time jihyo-ah. From that moment, I know someone trying to kill me. But I don’t know it was jongki. None of us knew” gary was referring to the NIS. None of them know who was the assassin. “that’s why NIS fake my death in the report. To keep me in hiding. To protect me. But in order for that to succeed, I need to be far away from you. Beside, we need to protect you too. My enemy will do anything to get to me. I can’t let anything harm you jihyo-ah” jihyo’s shock to hear that. “so that’s why you leave?”. “I’m sorry jihyo. I’ll wanted to do is to protect you. I’m sorry I’m hurting you so much” jihyo place her finger on gary’s lip. Telling him to stop talking. “that’s all in the past oppa. Just promise me you’ll never leave me again. I can’t live without you”. “I promise” gary said to her while hugging her tight. Jihyo begin to understand what happen. She’s shock to know how things around her went crazy without her knowing it why. But she still doesn’t get what happen to Gil though. “but what happen to gil oppa. Why is he in the hospital?” jihyo ask gary again, hoping for an answer. “Gil was the one who find out who jongki really is. He was attacked before he got a chances to reveal who jongki really was. I decided to come out from hiding as soon as heard about the news. The moment he tells me who is the assassin. I know you’re in danger too. I know it’s just matter of time before they get to you too. That’s why I come for you. The two guys that attacked you, they were jongki’s men” jihyo swallow her saliva hard. Too shock and scared hearing the story. She can’t believe she’s in the middle of this. She thought this kind of stuff just happen in a movie, yet it’s really happening to her. Gary knows what she’s thinking “I won’t let anything happen to you jihyo-ah” he said trying to comfort her. Jihyo smile to him, telling him she’s fine “I’m okay as long as you’re with me oppa. But I have one last question oppa. why does jongki wanted to kill you. Why is he so persistent on trying to kill you?” gary sigh to her question. That’s the same question that keep on playing in his mind. Yet he can’t seem to find an answer for such question. “I don’t know jihyo-ah. The more I think about it, the confuse I get. But I’ll find out soon enough. For now, we just stay here okay?”. Jihyo just nod to his word. For her, as long as they’re together. Jihyo then land herself into gary’s embrace, wanting his comfort. She’s extra clinging to him tonight, since she missed him like crazy. Gary wrapped jihyo’s body around his arm as their eyes lock onto each other. Gary jihyo’s long hair as his other hand hug jihyo tighter, bringing her closer to him, closing any gap between them. They loss into each other loving gaze. They didn’t say a word to each other, yet their head moving closer to each other. They can feel each other breathing as their nose begin to touch one another. Gary nuzzle jihyo’s nose with his, encouraging jihyo to close the gap between them. Jihyo readily invite herself to find gary’s lips with hers. She brings herself closer to gary, ready to seal his lips with hers. Just as their lips about to touch…

The alarm buzz…

SECURITY BREACH!!!...SECURITY BREACH

Gary’s computer suddenly beeping, with red light coming out of it. Indicating someone is coming to the house.  Both of them get shock upon hearing that. Gary immediately get to his gun and it. Jihyo shock of what happen. She’s scared to death. She even more scare seeing gary holding his M4 assault rifle, pointing it toward the door. “oppa…” jihyo calls on gary. She’s really scare now. “Go to the basement and lock the door” the door is bullet proof. Without a key code, one need huge explosion to open it. Jihyo got scarier upon hearing that. She knows what he means. He wants her to left him alone here, fighting by himself. She can’t let that happen. Seeing that jihyo’s not moving, gary pull jihyo, bringing her to the basement himself. Jihyo protest while being pulled by Gary. She wants to stay by his side. “no oppa!!!…I want to be with you…” gary ignore her protest. He needs to keep her safe. He locks the door from outside, not letting jihyo to come out. There’s actually secret passage inside the basement. A tunnel that can lead jihyo to an open road for her to seek for help if things get ugly here. Jihyo keep on knocking the door from inside the basement. She doesn’t want to leave gary alone. She can’t leave him alone fighting by himself. She’s scares for him “oppa!!! please!!! let me out!!!” she keeps on shouting for gary while keep on knocking the door repeatedly. In her heart keep on praying for her gary to be safe “oh my god please save him” …
