“Guys. These are the L Comm representative. We will be helping them with the lawsuit.” President Yoo said to the group while introducing the two man who just enter the meeting room. Jongkook and his team greet the two man. “hi I’m kanggary”. Gary greet the beautiful woman in front of him. “I’m songjihyo…” jihyo greet him back, flashing him her beautiful smile. Time pause for both of them as their hand touched. And they lost in each other’s gaze. They didn’t pull their hand back as they stare into each other’s eyes deeply. Jihyo can’t help herself from smile shyly, blushing herself as their eyes meet. She can feel her cheek turning red from the hot blush. And she can see the man in front of her too turning red, smile shyly to her. “Ehem…” a sudden coughed wake them. They break their loving eye contact from each other and let go of each other hands. “Isn’t that too long for a hand shake?” HaHa said teasing Gary and jihyo. Both of them just laugh awkwardly denying the teasing while everybody else just smile looking at them. They then continue with their meeting discussing about the case. As the meeting goes on, jihyo can't help herself from looking at the man in front of her. She don’t know why but her heart begin thumping hard as she look at him. He has a simple face, quite square shape face with clean cut of short hair on his head. She knows it herself he’s not that handsome though, yet it gives her peaceful feeling in her heart as she looks at him. And she doesn’t know why but she feels he’s quite y when he is so into his work. Jihyo can’ helps herself from starring at him, smiling herself as she looks at his every movement. She notices gary too try to stole glances at her every once in a while, but immediately retract his gaze when their eyes meet. Jihyo know the man is shy. She can’t help from smiling seeing his cute action. He will smile shyly every time he get caught by her. Jihyo shook his head upon seeing him like that “he’s so cute” jihyo thought to herself while still looking at him. Her eyes never leave him as the meeting goes on.

Jihyo smile bitterly at the memory as her eyes lost into the view of beautiful Han river in front of her. It’s the memory of their first meeting. It’s been too long since then. Jihyo try to find comfort from the magnificent view of the Han river. She gets off from work early today. She went to the Han river instead of going home. She wants to get some fresh air, to clear her mind. From the bench she was seating, she can see people having fun with their friends or beloved one, jogging, cycling. She can see them enjoying the beautiful evening happily. Some of them even play kites at the park. Jihyo sigh to herself. She used to that with Gary, enjoying their romantic date, having fun together, sometime even chasing each other out of love. She remembers his lovely smile and joyful laugh. It brings joy to her heart seeing him happy. But he’s isn’t there anymore, to be with her giving her the joyous smile or lovable laughter. Or even pick her up when she’s down, he’s not there anymore. He’s gone. It’s been one month since gary left. Ever since that day, she never heard from him anymore. She doesn’t know where he is or how he’s doing. Jihyo miss him. She tried to ask Gil for Gary’s where about but even he doesn’t have any clue. “I’m sorry jihyo-ah. I really don’t know where they’re sending him. That information is above my clearance, too classified”. Those are the answer Gil would give every time jihyo ask him. It breaks her heart upon hearing him. Gil knows that of her too, but there is nothing he could do. He really doesn’t know where Gary is. Sukjin wouldn’t tell him. Jihyo sigh to herself as she recalls the talk she had with Gil. She then shifts her attention looking at few kids running around chasing each other. There are about three to four years old and they look so cute as they try to run with their small little feet. Jihyo smile as she looks at them “so cute” she thought to herself as her eyes never leave them. “our kids for sure will be so cute”. Jihyo suddenly remember the word gary said to her when they were having steamboat dinner. She remembers how happy she was when she heard that from him, but now those words are too painful for her. She really need him back, to be by her side. Jihyo sigh as recall the memory she had with gary. Unknowingly, her eyes become watery “I miss you oppa” jihyo thought to herself as she wipes the tears on her eyes.

“Jihyo-ah?”

A sudden voice interrupt jihyo’s deep thought. She turns her head toward the familiar voice. She saw a muscular man in black shirt walking to her. “oh. Jongkook oppa, what are you doing here?” jihyo ask him with her signature mong look as she gesture for him to take a seat beside her. “I thought I find you here. Are you ready to go now?”. Jongkook said as he lands himself on the bench, beside jihyo. Jihyo just look at him with her cute mong face, unable to understand what he’s talking about. “go where oppa?” jihyo ask confused. She didn’t get what jongkook’s talking about. Jongkook chuckle at her cuteness “to Haha place of course…”. “wae? Why are we going there?”. Jihyo ask him still unable to grasp what’s going on. “yah…didn’t you check your phone? I’ll already message telling you I’ll be picking you at home” jongkook explain to jihyo to make her understand what he’s talking about. Just then jihyo realise the phone in her hand is dead, out of battery. “I’m sorry oppa. I didn’t check my message. The battery’s flat” jihyo said to jongkook while showing her dead phone to him. Jongkook chuckle himself while looking at her. He sighs at her Mong-ness. “no wonder I can’t reach you. Haha invited us for dinner at his place. Kwangsoo will be there too” jongkook simply stated. “I’m sorry oppa. I didn’t know” jihyo apologize to him. Jongkook just smile at her telling her it’s okay. Jongkook suddenly realise the woman beside him is still wearing the cloth she had from work. Another thought struck him “how long have you been here jihyo-ah?” jongkook ask her carefully. Jihyo didn’t answer him though. She sighs by herself and shift her eyes towards the river view in front of them, trying to hide her solemn face from jongkook. Jongkook immediately know what jihyo’s thinking about. He knows jihyo didn’t want to talk about it, but jongkook can’t help himself from asking. “did you come here straight from work?”. Jihyo just give him a small nod, answering his question. “alone?” jongkook ask again. This time jihyo didn’t answer him though. She just bends her head down without any answer. Jongkook sigh as he looks at her. He knows jihyo has been sitting there by herself for almost two hours and he know very well why. “how are you holding up jihyo-ah?” jongkook ask in concern. He knows jihyo has been trying to show her stronger side, showing everyone that she is okay. He knows jihyo doesn’t want anyone to worry about her. “I’m okay oppa…” jihyo stated with a bitter smile on her face trying to convince jongkook, telling him she’s okay. But jongkook know the better. He knows the woman beside him is trying to everyone show she is okay, but the truth is her heart is crushes into pieces. Jongkook reach out to hold jihyo’s hand tightly. “jihyo-ah, it’s just us now. You know you can tell me everything right?”. Jongkook said to her with caring voice, trying to convince her to not keep it by herself anymore. Jihyo sigh hearing him. The bitter smile she tried to show earlier disappear, replace by a solemn look, full of sadness. Jihyo feels her heart ache. “I miss him oppa” jihyo mumble softly, but loud enough for jongkook to hear her. “I miss him” she mumbles again. Tears start to flow from her eyes as she started to speak. She can’t keep it to herself anymore. “why must he leave…I mean, why is it has to be him??” jihyo said in between her sobs. She cries herself out letting the pain in her chest out. Jongkook bring his hand to rub her back slowly, trying to calm jihyo, to comfort her. He knows how much she misses her beloved boyfriend. And to know the man sacrifice everything for her, to know he really love her with all his heart really make it more painful for her to bear it. “I really don’t know what to do oppa. I miss him so much. It’s too painful. Sometime I tell myself to hate him because I think it’ll be easier but I can’t. I really can’t. I love him so much. The more I try forget, the more painful it gets. What should I do oppa. please tell me what should I do”. Jihyo’s sobs getting louder as she pours her heart out to jongkook. Jongkook lost of words. He doesn’t know what else to say. He knows jihyo is heartbroken, but he doesn’t know it is to this extend though. He brings himself to hug jihyo, to calm her down. He rubs her back slowly while she remains crying in his embrace “I know jihyo-ah, I know. Just let it out okay. Just let it out”. Jongkook said try to sooth her broken heart.

After the long crying, jihyo sobs begin to get weaker. Tired from all the hard crying, she begins to calm down. She pushes herself out of jongkook’s embraced. She wipes the tears on her eyes with the sleeves of her shirt. Seeing that, jongkook stop her hand, bringing his hand to wipe it for her instead. “you’re really beautiful jihyo-ah, and it’s not nice for such beauty like you to cry like this” jongkook whisper to her as he wipes the tears on her eyes with his finger. “I know it’s hard, but you have to be happy. Gary do all this so you can be happy. It kills me to see you like this jihyo-ah. And I know it’ll kill Gary too. I know you need time but promise me you’ll try okay” jongkook said to her while he holds her hand tight. His eyes never leave her as he speaks, showing how much he’s concern about her. jihyo didn’t reply him though. She just gives him a small smile. “are you feeling better now” jongkook ask her again, making sure she’s aright. Jihyo nod her head slowly “kumawo oppa” she thanks him with a weak voice. “come. Let’s go. They wil be waiting for us” jongkook said referring to Haha and byul. They get up from the bench and head themselves toward Haha’s place.

Somewhere outside Seoul

Cheorwon Military Base

Gary is sitting near the window, alone. He’s enjoying the night view by himself. The sky is too dark though, absence from the moon and stars he usually sees when he was in Seoul. Somehow he feels like the empty sky is similar to his soul now. He sees no future for him now. Before this, jihyo will be the one who brighten his heart, being the moon and stars that brightening his empty souls. Gary grip the glass of scotch in his hand tightly as he feels sharp prick into his chest while thinking about jihyo. He can’t help himself from thinking about her, from missing her. He curses himself for leaving her, to live his life without her anymore. He gulps down the alcohol in one shot. Seeing the glass empty, he pours some more of the scotch into his glass. It’s actually forbidden for him to drink in the base. Every military personnel are not allowed to consume any kind of alcohol while in base. But being an officer (captain), Gary was given a quarters of his own. He doesn’t have to share barrack with the lower rank personnel. So he gets the little privacy he needed, do everything he wants while no one is watching. Gary can feel his eyes watery as he pours the drink for himself “I miss jihyo-ah…I really miss you”. Gary thought to himself while trying to drown himself with the alcohol. Ever since he arrived at the base, Gary has been trying to forget about jihyo. He knows he won’t able to see her again. He knows he has to give up on her. He knows he has to live without her. He hopes she’ll find her own happiness. That’s what he wishes for now at least. Gary try to forget about her. But every time he tried, he failed. He just can’t get her off his heart. It’s too painful for him to bear that he will drink himself to sleep, drowning himself until he’s totally drunk and fall into sleep. As gary gulp down another glass of the alcoholic drink…

Knock-knock…

Gary hear knocks at the front door. Without even bother covering or hiding what he’s been doing, Gary yells out calling that person “come in…the door is not locked” gary said in his almost drunken state, but still quite sober to know what’s happening around him. Yonghwa open the door as he heard the invite from gary. He walks himself further into the quarters just to shock himself, seeing his superior sitting alone by himself, half drunk. He halts his step upon seeing Gary gulping the alcohol. He can see a bottle of scotch resting on the small coffee table in front of Gary. A moment of awkward silent feel the room. But Gary didn’t bother though. He gulps another glass of the scotch while yonghwa still in shock. “what is it lieutenant?” Gary ask in his husky voice after he finish gulping his drink in one shot. “aa…I just want to give you the list name of the new recruits sir. They will be arriving tomorrow afternoon” yonghwa speak up while stuttering himself. Gary nod his head upon hearing him. “just put there” gary said while pointing toward the table. “yes sir…I’ll take my leave then sir” yonghwa said as he places the file on the table, just like Gary ordered. He then begins to walk himself out of the quarters. “you know; you can just report me. I don’t even care” Gary speak up to yonghwa as he about to leave the quarters. Yonghwa turn his head looking at Gary. He knows exactly what’s his superior referring to. It’s about the drinking. Yonghwa no his superior is miserable, yet he doesn’t know the reason why. He didn’t dig further though. He has so much respect at Gary. So he trusts him. He gives gary a small smile as he speaks up “with all the things you have done for this country sir, I’d say you getting hammered in the base is the last thing we should worry about”. Gary smirk hearing him. yonghwa then take his leave, leaving gary alone to enjoy his drink. Yonghwa mean every words of it. He hasn’t meet gary in person before, but he knows his reputation though. He knows Gary had received medals for his distinguishable service. He even received the medal of honor, the highest medal one can get for the service for the country. When he first heard gary will be coming to take over the training program for the new recruits, he’s got excited. He’s happy to know one of the best in the agency will be there, joining them, teach them everything he know to them. He knows everything’s in good hand as long as Gary’s there.

Seoul

Jongkook’s car

Jongkook is focusing on the road, driving himself and jihyo toward her apartment. He’s sending her home. They are on the way back from Haha’s apartment. They enjoy their time there, chatting and catching up with each other. Haha intentionally invite the group to have dinner at his house that night. He actually wanted to help jihyo, to distract her mind from thinking about gary. He’s worry about her. He knows now Gary’s actually a good guy, a great guy for jihyo. And he knows how much she misses him. But there is nothing they can do now. He knows jihyo should try forget about Gary, try find her own happiness without him by her side. She needs to move on. So they talked about everything except Gary that night. They purposely avoid the topic, not wanting to remind jihyo about her beloved gary. And it’s kinda work, they can see jihyo actually enjoying herself during dinner, talking and laughing with each other. They’re happy to see her smile and laugh. They hope she can stay that way, being happy. While driving, jongkook glance to the woman beside him. He can see she already fallen into sleep. He chuckles at her cute sleeping figure. “you really can sleep anywhere can you” jongkook thought to himself while he stole another glances at her. Seeing she’s sleeping, jongkook drives more carefully, avoiding any bumps to make sure jihyo can sleep more comfortable. After the long drive, they finally reach jihyo’s apartment. Jihyo is still sleeping though. Seeing that, jongkook try to find an empty spot, to park his car. He doesn’t want to wake her up. He doesn’t have heart to do so. Besides, he kinda enjoy it too, to be able to stay with her in the car like that. He admires her sleeping figure, watching her sleep beautifully. “you’re really beautiful jihyo-ah” jongkook thought to himself while he unknowingly brings his hand toward jihyo’s beautiful face, try to reach her, to rub her soft white cheek with his rough hand. As he’s about to land his hand on her soft cheek, jihyo suddenly wake up. She jolts from the seat out of shock, trying to figure out where she is. Seeing that, jongkook immediately pulls his hand back, afraid to be caught red handed by her. “oh oppa. did we arrive already?” jihyo ask in husky voice as she recognize the surrounding. She knows it’s her building. “neh. We already arrive” jongkook answer while stuttering, still in fear if his action got caught by jihyo. “jinja? Sorry oppa I fell to sleep earlier” jihyo said while still yawning. Jongkook chuckle looking at her. She is indeed cute, too cute to resist. “I’ll get going then oppa. thanks for the ride. I had fun today. Drive carefully okay oppa”. Jihyo said to jongkook with her sleepy face. Jihyo then get out from the car after she bid her goodbye to jongkook. She then walks herself into the building, leaving jongkook alone in his car. Jongkook sigh by himself as he saw jihyo disappear into the building. After making sure jihyo already enter her building safely, jongkook drives away, leaving the building to go home by himself.

Upon reaching her apartment, jihyo went straight to the bathroom, cleaning herself with a long warm shower. After finish cleaning herself up, she went to the bedroom, changing into a huge comfortable white t-shirt. It’s actually gary’s, but jihyo still keep it though. Even if he’s gone now, jihyo never once try to changes anything in the apartment. She keeps it as it is, like when they were still living together. Their pictures are still hanging in the wall. Gary’s cloths are still in the wardrobe. His shoes are still stacked on the rack. She didn’t change anything, even for a single bit. She treats it like he’s still there, like he never left. Jihyo knows she has to forget about Gary. She knows she has to move on, to continue her life without him, the love of her life. But somehow, deep in her heart, she knows gary’s going to come back. She knows he will try to come back to her. And deep inside her heart, she trusts him, she still has faith with him, that one day they will be together again. Jihyo bring her body to lie down on the empty bed. She reaches for phone and open the gallery. She scrolls each of the pictures of her and Gary together. Tears starts to falls as she recall the memory she had with him. Ever since the day gary left, jihyo will never miss taking her time to recall the memory she had with gary. She misses him so much. She stops scrolling the picture as she saw the picture of them together. She’s kissing his cheek in the picture while gary smile happily enjoying her kiss. She misses that moment with him. Unknowingly, jihyo bring her lips to her phone, kissing the picture of him. Tears fall from her eyes as she does so.  “I miss you oppa. It doesn’t matter how long it gonna take. I’ll always be here oppa, waiting for you” …
