CHAPTER 3
MOONLIGHT FLOWERJongin found himself a nice spot under the tree and sat himself down comfortably. The weather was just nice, not too hot. The sun was shining over his head, and it felt warm against his face. Jongin smiled. He took out a book he found from the room that Kyungsoo had provided for him. It seemed interesting to him, so he thought he could give it a read.
But as soon as he flipped open the book he realized that he couldn’t read at all. His eyes read word by word, but no meaning came to him. Jongin laughed at himself before standing up and went in search for Kyungsoo. He found him in the backyard, tending to the sheep.
“Kyungsoo!” Jongin shouted at him at the edge of the field, waving at him with the book in his hand. He bounced up and down like a little child who had just discovered a new amazing toy. Kyungsoo saw him and came running towards him.
“What have you got there, Jongin?”
Jongin excitedly showed him the book he had just found in his room. He smiled broadly at Kyungsoo like a proud little kid.
“I can’t read,” he said, scratching the back of his head, “Can…can you teach me how?”
“Sure, why not?” Kyungsoo beamed. He reached for the book in Jongin’s hand and examined it. He turned the book around and saw the writings at the cover. It was black. And at the corner below was an initial D.O. Kyungsoo stared at it with wide eyes.
“Where did you get this, Jongin?” he asked.
“I found it in my bedroom,” Jongin replied simply, “There are lots of books being piled up there.”
Kyungsoo hastily took the book away from Jongin, which startled Jongin a little.
“I’ll get you another book, okay?” he said, sounding a little nervous, “This isn’t a good book, trust me.”
He said and went off into the house. Jongin cocked his head and wondered what was wrong with Kyungsoo that day. And what was wrong with that book.

Kyungsoo hugged the black book close to his chest. He never thought he would ever laid eyes on this book again. He flipped it open and all the memories came to life, all the painful pasts and hurtful feelings. With
