She’s worried. She’s freaking worried and the anxious is getting into her. She texted her an hour ago but Yuri hadn’t yet replying any of her text. She called but no one is picking up. Where the hell is that swimming jerk anyway? Okay not really a jerk considering she is her girlfriend but she’s a jerk for not replying or answering her call at all. Tiffany told her that Taeyeon informed her about Yuri absent from class today. Taeyeon had no idea why considering Yuri would always tell her if anything is wrong. She waited for the tan girl before school starts but she didn’t show up. What is wrong with her? Jessica is completely in a mess and barely listening to anything that her teacher is teaching in front. The school No.1 student is actually not paying attention at all. Tiffany senses Jessica discomfort in class and when their teacher turn around, she poked the anxious girl with her pencil.

 

“You’re moving too much and probably distracting others.”

 

Jessica faced Tiffany and glaring at her best friend who gulped down nervously. Okay, this looks serious. Tiffany decided to ignore whatever was being told by their teacher and focus on Jessica.

 

“Okay let’s focus on your problem. What’s wrong?”

 

“Nothing is wrong.” Typical Jessica Jung. She rather keep her problem to herself. Tiffany huffed.

 

“Okay I’m going to guess. Yuri disappearing today somehow have something to do with you right now. Am I right or am I right?”

 

Jessica gave her that look and she already knew she’s right. Great. Now how to calm her down without mentioning Yuri’s name?

 

“You do realize she’s an adult that can take care of herself right?”

 

“I’m going to skin her the moment I see her today. You better tell her that.”

 

“Jess, you’re getting way ahead right now. She might have some stuffs to do. Like…”

 

Jessica eyed her bestfriend who doesn’t sound convincing right now.

 

“Like what?”

 

“Emergency training? She’s having another open competition in a few weeks.”

 

“This is making me crazy. Is it normal?” Jessica started having doubts right now. This feelings is getting into her and she had no idea how to stop it. Yuri for making her worried. Tiffany chuckled watching as Jessica squirms on her seat.

 

“Well, I’ve seen worst so yeah yours are normal.”

 

“I can’t stay here much longer.”

 

“Wha…” Tiffany eyes widen as Jessica stood up and gathering all her stuffs totally ignoring that she just interrupted the whole class session and earning all eyes on her even the teacher himself. Jessica walked out of her seat and slightly bow towards her teacher as she exit the classroom leaving Tiffany who’s now became the one everyone is staring at. Mr Ok cleared his throat.

 

“Ms Hwang, where is your friend going?”

 

“Uhm… She’s..not feeling well?” Great. Stuttering. Good job Tiffany. Mr Ok looked like he’s not buying it.

 

“Ms Jung never left in a middle of class and you’re saying she is now?”

 

You owe me big time Jessica Jung.

 

“She is. Girls problem sir.”

 

“Oh.” A short replied and the question was ignored. Good job Tiffany. That is one of the way to make male teachers stop questioning students. She had no idea she would still be alive and be a witness as Jessica stormed out of the class not really bothered to finish the first period and gone who knows where. Well, not no where, probably kicking Yuri’s .

Jessica run down the hall and through the main corridor almost bumping onto Taeyeon who just came out of bathroom. She almost stumbled but Taeyeon is fast enough to hold onto her avoiding her falling face first on the floor.

 

“Woah, chill Jessica.”

 

Jessica straightened back up as Taeyeon helped her up. She brushed off dust from her pants.

 

“Sorry I’m in a hurry.”

 

Taeyeon raised an eyebrow.

 

“Jessica Jung is ditching class? Wow.”

 

“You don’t have to be sarcasm Taeyeon.”

 

Taeyeon just smirks but held both hands up signaling she’s surrendering.

 

“Hey, I was joking. Where are you heading?”

 

“Yuri didn’t come to school right? Do you know where she live?”

 

“Uhh Jessica, I don’t think you should go and visit her. You’re seriously not welcome and if you’re busted, then she’s going to be in a deep trouble.”

 

“You make this sounded like a CIA work.”

 

Taeyeon laughed a lot. Jessica has a bad humor and its freaking funny.

 

“If you insisted, then here.” Taeyeon handed over her car keys. Jessica looked rather confused.

 

“Take my car and drive over to her house. I’ll text you her address. Once you’re there, go around towards the back gate and park there. A guy around his 40’s would come out. Tell him you’re Yuri’s friend and I told you to come. He’ll let you in if Yuri’s parent aren’t around.”

 

“If they’re around?”

 

“Then you can’t come in. You have to leave.”

 

Jessica thought over her options. Taeyeon is right. There’s no way she can find out what happen to Yuri if her parents are around. She would practically be known and it’s the end of their relationship. But if she didn’t go then she doesn’t think she can just wait until Yuri would called back and let her know what went wrong.

 

“ Yuri.”

 

Taeyeon could only pat Jessica on the back as she walked away leaving the smart girl standing there thinking over her options. But when she was about to turn around the corner, she looked back and saw Jessica wasn’t there anymore. She smirks knowing the girl must have taken the risk.

 

“Lucky Kwon.”

Jessica have to admit, Taeyeon drive a nice car but then she might be as wealthy as Yuri so that isn’t much of a surprise anymore. She just received Taeyeon’s text message. She knew the neighborhood so it was a tad easy to find. She turn left and stopped not too far from the house she’s been looking for. Her eyes widen as she find the Kwon house look so humongous from where she is. A few questions raise in her mind but she shook her head getting rid all that thoughts. It’s not yet important. Listening to Taeyeon’s advice, Jessica drove around the house and stopped at the back gate but was not so close afraid if people are going to suspect her. She turn off the engine and climbed out of Taeyeon’s car. Jessica can feel her heart beating so crazy right now. She placed her palm on her chest.

 

“You need to chill or I might die of heart attack. Calm down heart.”

 

Taking a few deep breath, Jessica steady her walk towards the back gate. Once there, she stopped and look around. No one seems to notice her the way Taeyeon said so what should she do now? She look around and saw a guy probably a gardener watering some plant. Maybe she can get him to help her?

 

“Ummm, Mr?”

 

Lucky her, he heard her and turn around. There was confusion written on his face as her marched towards her after he put away his water hose. He wiped his hands as she approached Jessica.

 

“Yes?”

 

Jessica flashed him a sincere smile.

 

“I’m here to see Yuri. I’m her friend. Can I?”

 

The guy look at Jessica and frowned. He never saw her before. To be honest, he had only seen Taeyeon before. So who is this girl claiming to be Yuri’s friend? Jessica saw his confusion and mentally chided herself. She forgot.

 

“Taeyeon sent me here.”

 

“Ah.” He quickly let the gate open and let Jessica in. That was easy so it means Yuri’s parents aren’t home? Good. He gestured Jessica to follow him towards the back door and let her in before closing the door behind.

 

“I’m going to get Mr Chan for you. Wait for a while Ms…”

 

“Jessica.” The guy politely bow and smile before leaving Jessica standing there. While he was gone, she let her eyes wander around. The kitchen design look so modern and nice not to mention spacious too. She wondered how the living room might look like.

 

“Ms Jessica?”

 

Jessica came back to her senses and turned to her side as she saw a guy in suit probably the same guy Taeyeon is talking about. She politely bow showing her respect.

 

“I’m Mr Chan, Kwon family butler.”

 

“I’m here to see Yuri if she’s around.”

 

Mr Chan smile a genuine smile. No one from school ever visited Yuri before other than Taeyeon so having Jessica coming in the middle of school like this raising his curiosity.

 

“I’m not trying to offend you Ms Jung but who are you to Yuri?”

 

Who is she? If only Mr Chan can read her mind, she would have screamed girlfriend but then she can’t take that risk. Not when Yuri have no idea about this.

 

“I’m her school friend. She didn’t come to school so I thought that maybe something is wrong with her thus why I came.”

 

Mr Chan expression hadn’t changed but she swore she saw his smile grew wider. Jessica felt her palm sweating but being confident is always the key to get things done for her.

 

“Interesting. Please follow me Ms Jessica.”

 

That’s it? He’s not going to dig for more information? She for sure felt like he’s trying to. Jessica didn’t uttered a single word as he led her upstairs. Her eyes scanning around the house and everything look so nice. All the design suit her taste. But the moment her foot landed on the first step of the spiral stairs, she can feel her body shivering; nervous to meet Yuri. Every steps she took making her heart beating even faster. With this rate, it might burst out of her chest. The walk seems longer but the finally reach a door where Mr Chan had stop. He turned around facing Jessica still with that wide smile. Is he mocking her?

 

“Yuri is inside. Take your time Ms Jessica.”

 

Mr Chan left her standing there like an idiot who seems to be having a hard time relaxing her stiff body, her over excessive beating heart and her sweaty palm. For the sake of her life, she shouldn’t be feeling all these knowing that there’s nothing to be worried about to be honest. She take a few deep breaths again as her hand landed on the door knob slowly turning it and gently pushed the door open. She didn’t dare taking a peek over the room and just quietly come in and shut the door behind her. Should she lock the door? Locking sounded a perfect plan right now so she did. Slowly, Jessica turned around and saw the girl that made her worried all morning on a queen bed looking so pale. She’s tucked under a comforter large enough to cover her body only leaving her face. Jessica placed her palm on as she realized what’s going on; Yuri had a fever 2 days after their secret dating.

 

“Yul..” Jessica strolled towards her mumbling the sleeping girl name. She sat down next to Yuri’s body and gently placed her left hand on top of Yuri’s. Even with the comforter, she can feel the heat coming from Yuri’s body. She leaned forward and place her right palm on Yuri’s forehead. Her forehead is burning so much. Jessica felt her heart in pain as she remembered how it is her fault that Yuri ended up like this. She wanted to have that date so much that she didn’t considered Yuri’s well-being. The tan girl even swim into the ocean because of that one argument that night.

 

“Yuri…” She didn’t mean to call her girlfriend name but she just want Yuri to wake up so that she’ll know that Yuri is still breathing. It sounded stupid but whatever. Yuri stirred a little as her eyes slowly fluttering open. Jessica almost had tears on her eyes when Yuri lips tugged into a weak smile as she noticed Jessica in front of her.

 

“Hey smart girl.” Yuri cough heavily when she greeted her. Jessica helped her up and rubbed her back. She’s beyond worried right now.

 

“Stop talking. You’re coughing a lot.”

 

Her coughing subsided but it didn’t wipe off the smile she had. Jessica picked up a glass of water on the bedside table and helped Yuri drinking it. Yuri leaned forward with Jessica holding onto the glass and her free arm around Yuri’s waist holding onto her girlfriend weak body. Yuri took a few sips not really wanting to drink all of it.

 

“You smell nice Sica.”

 

Jessica rolled her eyes and put away the glass when Yuri rubbing her face on her shoulder.

 

“Kwon Yuri, behave.”

 

Jessica pulled her away and helped her lay down on bed once again. Despite Yuri showing her erted side, the rest about her right now screaming weak. She’s holding as much as she can.

 

“Did..you ditched school baby?”

 

“You should have at least let me know about your fever so that I wouldn’t be freaking out in class because I did.”

 

Yuri put a lot of effort holding onto Jessica’s hand and running her thumbs on the skin hoping to ease Jessica out of her worried self.

 

“Sorry.. Dad took my phone since he..want me to rest.”

 

Jessica eyes widen. Her dad took her hand phone? This is freaking her out but Yuri sense Jessica discomfort over it so she quickly cuts in.

 

“Don’t worry. I always save our conversation in my mail…and deleted in my phone. I don’t use my personal email in my phone. So we’re safe.”

 

“I can’t take too many surprises in a day Yul.”

 

“I know that’s why I’m telling you now so…that you won’t freaking out.”

 

It was hard for Jessica watching Yuri being all weak like this. She placed her palm on Yuri’s right cheek gently rubbing her thumb.

 

“You got sick.” Her tone layered with sadness. Yuri gave a weak nod but couldn’t decipher the meaning behind Jessica actions. She let her hand on top of Jessica as she enjoying her touch.

 

“I’m..fine.”

 

“I was so into having a normal relationship that…”

 

Yuri placed her finger on Jessica lips silencing her from speaking further.

 

“Remember what I said? I’ll take..all the risk.”

 

Jessica hold back her tears as Yuri pushed herself forward and kissing her on the forehead.

 

“We’re not normal. You..said so.”

 

Yuri cough a little more as she lay back on bed pulling Jessica with her. She let her girlfriend rest her head on her chest as she wrapped her arms around Jessica’s tiny waist. She didn’t want Jessica to be sad over small things like this. So she changed the topic.

 

“Sica, who let you in?”

 

“Mr Chan. I told him I’m a friend of yours but I don’t think he bought it. Yul, you’re officially busted.”

 

Yuri chuckled as Jessica giggling over it.

 

“Nah, Mr Chan always understand me. He wouldn’t have..let you in if he’s not.”

 

“I like him for liking us.” Well she meant it. At least one of the people around the Kwon is accepting her with Yuri. That is a good start. Jessica untangled Yuri’s arms around her waist and scooted over to the other side laying on her left as she faced Yuri. She can stay on her arms but Yuri is sick and she felt guilty over it. Yuri turned around facing Jessica as her naughty hand running down Jessica exposed arm.

 

“You know if I didn’t know you that much, I think you’re trying to seduce me right now Kwon.”

 

Yuri grin as that same hand travels even below and grouping Jessica’s .

 

“Really Yuri?”

 

“I like your .”

 

Jessica slapped her lover arm but the pain seems not doing her anything. Jessica dramatically sighing.

 

“If you want , I’m not doing it while you’re sick. Stop dreaming.”

 

Yuri flashed Jessica her signature puppy eyes look. She knew Jessica would fall for it but then her condition might be the only reason why Jessica is sticking to her no right now policy. Jessica pinched Yuri’s cheek earning a soft groaning from the tan girl.

 

“Baby, it hurts…”

 

Jessica laughed when Yuri make some face expression so that her girlfriend would stop pinching her cheek. Jessica let go of her cheek and Yuri used that opportunity and pulled Jessica towards her hugging her waist and faces inches together.

 

“Yul, don’t try. I’m not falling for this erted way of yours.”

 

“Well, one can only try right?”

 

Jessica kissed Yuri on the lips just to satisfy her sick girlfriend. Yuri was grinning into the kiss. It wasn’t a long kiss so by the time Jessica pulled away, she witness Yuri happiness look.

 

“You’re so happy huh?”

 

“Kiss me again.”

 

“Nu uh.”

 

“Why?” Yuri whining her way hoping Jessica would give up. Jessica shook her head and flicked Yuri on the forehead.

 

“You need to get better first. After that, I’m all yours. I promise.”

 

Yuri held her pinky finger out. Jessica raised an eyebrow.

 

“Really?”

 

“Come on. We’re making promise right now. It’s a pinky finger promise.”

 

“You’re so childish Yul.”

 

“I know. Now the pinky promise.”

 

Jessica couldn’t avoid it any longer so she intertwine hers around Yuri’s. Yuri was grinning so much that it almost reaching her ears. Once done, Jessica let Yuri brining her hand towards her lips as she place a few kisses.

 

“Yul, you need to get some rest. Get some sleep.”

 

“But then you’re going to leave.”

 

“I won’t. Get some rest, please?”

 

Yuri reluctant on doing so but just having Jessica taking all this risks to reach here, she felt she should be listening to her.

 

“Okay but you need to turn around. I want to cuddle with you.”

 

Yuri might have forgot that they are currently in the Kwon’s residence. Anytime, her parents might be returning and caught them in Yuri own bedroom. this. She’ll just try leaving when Yuri had fall asleep. She turned and facing the opposite direction as she felt Yuri hand wrapping around her waist bringing her closer. Her back on Yuri’s front, arm secured around her waist and Yuri’s face nuzzling on the nape of her neck. Yuri have to admit, she do getting sleepy.

 

“Sica?” She placed a few kisses on her shoulder as she made sure there are no space between her body and Jessica’s.

 

“Hrrmm?”

 

“It means a lot to me…you skipping school just because you’re worried..over me. Thank you.”

 

Jessica had a small smile on her face as she felt Yuri tightening her hold onto her.

 

“Always Yul. Always.”

SangWoo walked upstairs towards Yuri bedroom thinking of checking his daughter condition. Yuri might have caught a cold after her disappearance on Saturday night. But until he knows who that person is, he’s not going to corner Yuri about it. He finally reaching his daughter bedroom. He was about to open the door when Mr Chan appeared from his right.

 

“You’re back Sir?”

 

“Yes I am a few minutes ago. How’s Yuri?”

 

“Her fever had dropped significantly low. She’s not burning up like this morning. But definitely needing rest for another day.”

 

“That’s good.”SangWoo attempt on opening the door once again but Mr Chan interrupt him yet again.

 

“Sir, our gardener just told me that we have a pipe leaking around the garden area. You should see it first before we call people to fix it.”

 

SangWoo retreated his hand as he is now completely looking at Mr Chan.

 

“Okay. Let’s see it now then.”

 

SangWoo walked first as Mr Chan followed him from behind. When SangWoo made his first step down the spiral staircase, Mr Chan take the opportunity and glanced back to where Yuri’s room is. He smile as he descending the steps.
