author's note: for this prompt - “Hey! I was gonna eat that!”

If Jinki’s life was a drama, the OST that would be playing in the background as he stares at the box of fried chicken that Minho has ordered for supper is Selene 6.23. His favourite food may just be on the table in front of him but the distance between them is too great. Management has always been strict on his diet, even more so during their comeback period, so Jinki knows for a fact he’ll never be able to touch that crispy, sinfully delicious drumstick even if he reaches out with all his strength. The fried chicken is calling out to him but there’s an invisible barrier that good old responsible, disciplined Jinki knows better than to cross.

Jinki’s brain is telling him to walk away, go as far away as possible because what’s out of sight is out of mind. However, he just can’t take his eyes off the box, his feet stuck to the ground, as he imagines sinking his teeth into juicy tender chicken. There’s a stupid smile on Jinki’s face, his mouth so close to watering, when Minho suddenly blocks his view and reaches out for that drumstick he has been eyeing. The moment Minho bites into the drumstick and easily pulls the meat off the bone, Jinki’s fantasy is completely destroyed, his smile, too, disappearing in a split second.

“Hey! I was gonna eat that!”

Minho raises an eyebrow in question at his hyung and waits until he has chewed and swallowed the mouthful of chicken before he asks, “This?”

“Yes!”

“There’s more in the box, hyung.”

“But I wanted that drumstick!”

“Really?” Minho smiles, amused, “Are you sure you’re not just saying that because you want me to feed you?”

Laughing, Minho holds the drumstick near Jinki’s lips as he coos, “Aww hyung, you don’t have to do that. I’ll gladly feed you any time, any day. Come on, say ahhh. You know you want to, hyung.”

Jinki’s lips quiver before he swallows hard and goes on to mutter, “You know I can’t eat this, Minho yah, especially at this time of the night.”

“Once in a while won’t hurt.”

“I really shouldn’t.”

“Alright…” Minho sighs and shrugs, “If you say so, hyung…”

With Jinki’s eyes following the drumstick held between his fingers, Minho moves his hand away and brings the chicken back towards his own mouth. He is just about to take another bite when Jinki suddenly grabs his hand firmly and pulls it back towards his mouth. The next thing he knows, Jinki is eating his chicken with the guiltiest smile on his face.

“Tastes good?” Minho asks, feeling happy just seeing Jinki happy.

Jinki nods, choosing not to speak as he eats.

“Tastes even better when I’m feeding you right?” Minho smirks.

Remembering that Minho is the one who has reacquainted him with his favourite food, Jinki resists the urge to smack that annoying grin off the rapper’s face. Besides, who has time to talk to Minho when there’s more chicken in the box waiting to be eaten? Yeah, definitely not Jinki.
