도망자 : 플랜 X (Fugitives : Plan X)Upon reaching their apartment, Jungkook headed straight to his shared room with Taehyung and Jimin as he refused to listen to what had happened to Namjoon. He climbed up the upper bunk of the bed and rested his head on his hand as the rest listened to Seokjin's story in the living room. He was there in the van with Yoongi and Jimin. He had saw everything that happened from the screen of the computer in the van that was connected to the CCTVs in the hospital. Namjoon was arrested by the police waiting in ambush and once Seokjin had entered the van, they had fled from the hospital's parking lot for fear of being caught by the police. Everything had happened so fast and so unexpected that Jungkook found himself wishing that all these were just a nightmare, one that he could easily brush off his mind once he was awake.
He lay in the dark room with his eyes tightly shut and tried to sleep. At that moment, the young boy wanted nothing more but to get away from the reality that was pressuring down on him. Throughout the one year that he had joined them, Jungkook had only been on four mission, all risky and life-threatening but none was able to compare with this. The quest for finding the missing Death Note had proved to be a mission more challenging and dangerous than the previous cases. Before long, he heard Jimin's angry voice across the living room before everything went silent again. The silence continued until Jimin walked in their shared room with one of his hand on his cheek. Without any lights on, Jungkook couldn't see what had happened to the boy but he had a wild guess. Jimin had been shouting to Yoongi just now and he must have provoked the pale-skinned male.
The youngest boy lay still in his bed, pretending to be asleep as Jimin crawled into his own bed and not long after that, a loud BAM! was heard coming from Yoongi's room direction and Taehyung entered their shared room shortly after that. From the small space under the door, he could see the lights in the living room turned off one by one and the sound of the doors closing indicating that Seokjin and Jungmi had retrieved into their rooms respectively for the night. So when he heard the faint sound of door creaked open not once, but twice, Jungkook was snapped out of his sleepiness. Who is trying to sneak out in the middle of the night?
Jungkook waited for a few seconds before leaping off his bed and turned the door knob slowly. He opened the door without making a tiny sound with much efforts and sighed the moment he squeezed through the tiny opening. He was able to see clearly in the dark space as he had been resting in a dark room and to his surprise, he found Yoongi slipping into his shoes and headed outside. Another look at the open door and the empty bed with neatly folded blanket opposite to their room told the boy that Jungmi was not in her room too. "What are those two up to?" Jungkook whispered to no one in particular. He only hesitated for a second before heading straight to the door and reached for the door knob, turning it swiftly and slipped into his slippers before sneaking out after the older male. Yoongi had turned around the corner and entered the only elevator available in their apartment. Jungkook looked up and stared at the electronic board indicating which floor the elevator stopped. It stopped at the highest floor.
Blaming his sudden surge of energy and the bubbling curiousity, Jungkook cursed under his breath and started hiking up the stairs two steps at one time instead of waiting for the elevator.
Unknowingly, Jungkook reached the rooftop and eavesdropped things he shouldn't have heard.
"Aren't you an undercover, Mr. Militery Officer?"
Yoongi's eyes had turned wider than usual, shock clearly writtened in those orbs., "How do you know?" He hissed, no longer able to keep his composure anymore. His reaction was what Jungmi had wanted to see. She smiled, "I also know that you're the only one in your batch that graduated from Korea Military Academy with the highest score and has been assigned to a top secret mission as soon as you started working."
Yoongi couldn't deny that what because what the girl had said was true. As soon as he stepped foot in the military force, he had been assigned to be an undercover for a top secret mission along with another experienced military officer, a man 5 years older than him that went by the name Shin Gongchan. The first mission he was in with Officer Shin had been a huge success with all the criminals caught red-handedly and Yoongi was promoted to a higher rank that very year. His success caused jealousy among his colleagues and slowly, he found himself isolated by his colleagues. However, Yoongi never cared. After all, he preferred working alone.
Following his first success, he was assigned to his second mission. To infiltrate the black market, hunt down the keeper of the Death Note and get his hands on the note. His supervisor had told him that if he were able to get the note, he would be able to earn himself a higher position in the military force, perhaps one even higher than his supervisor. Yoongi was never one that doubted his own abilities and following his first success, the greed for power and higher ranks only grown deeper in him. Being Namjoon's second closest friend after Seokjin, he immediately seized the rare opportunity when Namjoon voiced out that he wanted to create an underground investigator team by agreeing with his idea and stated that he wanted to join his team and leave the military force. When Namjoon had asked him why he had faked an excuse, saying that he couldn't bear the looks given by the others and the pressure working as a military officer was just too much to bear. "I want something different. I want...to do what I want without others' judging eyes." Yoongi never forgot the pity shown in Namjoon's eyes and the light hug he gave him before agreeing to let him in the team.
Foolish man, Yoongi had laughed inwardly at Namjoon's action. He never knew it was that easy to fool Namjoon when the man was known for his keen insight. Yet Yoongi knew the man's greatest weakness. Namjoon trusted his friends more than anything in this world and Yoongi knew that was the sole reason why the man was fooled that easily.
The moment the team was formed, Yoongi left his position in the military force and worked alongside Namjoon and Seokjin, doing his part of job as the messenger and hacker of the team, helping their team to build up their reputation within a short amount of time. Of course, all of these were done after he told his supervisor about his plan and got the permission of doing so from his supervisor himself. Until now, he had been a member of the team for 5 years, making him an undercover for 5 years straight. Ever since he found out that the Death Note was in Taekwang's hands, Yoongi had been observing the man's each movement carefully, eyeing for a chance to get the note without getting caught himself. The opportunity never arrived in the past 5 years but Yoongi was a man with great patience. And with Jungmi's sudden invasion into their team three months ago, Yoongi found himself a new speck of hope. His opportunity f
