-At CNblue's dorm-

Yonghwa:"How.... Is.. How is she now...?"

Taeyeon was about to answer him when a call came....

TY:"Hello?"

Tiff:"TAEYEON COME BACK NOW! SHE'S NOT GOING TO MAKE IT!"

Tiffany was sobbing so hard on the other line. Taeyeon could hear the other girls crying and crying, until their voices went hoarse. Taeyeon felt like she lost her mind and forgot how to speak, no tears, no anger, no sadness was coming out of her. She was totally blank in the head and in the heart. She did not know what to say or how to react and just subtly said,

TY:"What........."

.................

Taeyeon's heart was pounding faster and faster. Yonghwa was just looking up at Taeyeon's worried face as his two knees were on the groun as he tightly grasped the necklace.

Tiff:"................*Cries... and cries.... and more cries....* ......."

Tayeon did not know what to do, her heart broke listening to Tiffany's cries.

TY:"Tiff, stop crying. I'm coming over right now."

She hung up just like that.

Taeyeon tried to stay calm and tried her very best to contain her emotions. She told herself that everything will turn out fine. She clenched her fists and lips hard, as she shut her eyes tightly to not let any tears fall. Yonghwa was just staring at Taeyeon not knowing what to say or do. He could slightly hear Tiffany's voice whimpering on the other line. Although he could not hear the contents, he knew it was not something good either. He asked,

Yonghwa:"What...Happened...?"

Taeyeon could not resist it anymore, her floodgates opened and tears gushed out like they never had. She started telling herself that it was all Yonghwa's fault that her poor Maknae ended up like that.

Yonghwa was puzzled, thinking if he said anything wrong as Taeyeon did not reply him and her facial expressions did not look too fond to him. He stayed quiet waiting for her to say something. Taeyeon quickly realised how much time they were wasting and snapped back to reality, she turned away from Yonghwa as her fists were still clenched hard,

Taeyeon:"This...Is all your damn fault! It's all because of you she ended up like that! She had so much to live for!"

Yonghwa was stunned at what Taeyeon said. Taeyeon turned back to Yonghwa with anger and tears in her eyes as she continued,

Taeyeon:"BUT YOU TOOK HER AWAY! YOU TOOK HER AWAY FROM US!"

*silence*

...................................................

Taeyeon was crying and crying as her lips and hands were trembling from fear of losing Seohyun and anger at him. Yonghwa who quickly sunk in what Taeyeon said, felt so guilty like he never had. He felt that this time, it was irreparable. He was going to lose his one and only true love. Not only that, she was going to leave her 8 sisters who grew up with her, that went through thick and thin together, that were bonded stronger than blood. His tears kept falling, it could not stop. He felt his whole body losing its 'blood', for Seohyun was the blood and life to him.

Yonghwa:".............."

Taeyeon took a few deep breaths and told herself that they really had to go now before it is really the end.

Taeyeon:"We need to go now."

Yonghwa:".............."

Taeyeon who got extremely annoyed at his cowardness, yelled,

Taeyeon:"SHE DOESN'T HAVE MUCH TIME LEFT, YOU HEAR ME?!"

Yonghwa stoned, he had no energy left to react, but his heart felt like it was stabbed a million times by grief and guilt. He muttered,

Yonghwa:....What?...."

..........

..........

Taeyeon could not take it anymore.

Taeyeon:"IF YOU'RE GONNA CONTINUE ACTING LIKE A COWARD, THEN I'M LEAVING. BEACUSE, I HAVE MY YOUNGER SISTER WHO IS DYING AND FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE."

"I HAVE A YOUNGER SISTER WHO IS DYING AND FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE."

.................

That particular senstence struck Yonghwa hard. He was going to lose it all if he kept acting like that. He had to go. He lost her once over his stupid acts. He vowed to never lose her again. He cannot. He just cannot lose her again. He spaced out as that sentence repeated in his head over and over together like a broken recorder, as the memories started flooding back. Everything just flashed in his head all at once. His mouth was slightly opened as if he was possessed. He felt like he was losing it.

Taeyeon:"ARE YOU COMING?!"

Taeyeon was yelling at Yonghwa who was losing his mind. He looked like he was really terrified and timid like a mice. He quickly used his palms to get off the floor. He tried hard to stand up as his weak legs were giving way. It was as though, fear literally took over his soul and body. He took a step, and was limping as if he was a crippled, but the truth was, his body itself was physically fine. But it was as though a dark and nasty soul took over him and he was not himself at all. He was a cripple alright. A crippled at heart. Taeyeon who got impatient, just quickly left the house and rushed down. Yonghwa tried to regain his senses back, and hastily followed behind. Taeyeon ran towards the van and slid the door open.

Taeyeon:"Oppa....."

Her eyes were tearing again as she spoke in her shaky voice.

Manager:"Say no more. I know. Let's hurry."

The manager was about to lift the side break, but was stopped by Taeyeon.

Taeyeon:"Oppa... Wait. Not yet...."

Manager:"Huh....?"

The manager was really lost and stumped. He thought what was she waiting for. He looked out of the window and was bewildered to see Yonghwa walking in such a "dead" state. He barely looked like he was alive, like a zombie. He looked lifeless and looked like he was done with everything. His hair and neck were soaked and covered in sweat.

Manager:"...Yong..Hwa...??"

The manager blurted out unconsciously.

Taeyeon popped her head out of the van's window. 

Taeyeon:"YAH! WE DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME LEFT!"

Yonghwa who heard her holler, quickly fastened his pace and boarded the van and without any energy left, he shut the door.

Yonghwa:"Hyu..ng..."

Yonghwa greeted the manager. The manager had never seen Yonghwa ever in such a state. He was worried for him and wondered what Taeyeon had told him. Clearly by his looks, the manager guessed that Yonghwa already knew about Seohyun. 

Manager:"Geurae Yonghwa ah... Are you alright?"

Yonghwa started to blank out again. The manager called him again.

Manager:"Yonghwa ah..."

Yonghwa shooked his head. He looked really dazed.

Yonghwa:"Neh Hyung... I'm alright. Let's hurry."

Taeyeon:"Oppa... We have to go now."

Taeyeon impatiently told her manager.

The manager quickly departed for the hospital

Taeyeon was just spacing out looking out of the window. She somehow lost her will for everything and felt that God was extremely cruel to Seohyun. Why did he have to take Seohyun away from everything? She felt like giving up on everything. To the point of just letting Seohyun go, because she cannot bear to watch her kid in so much pain. Physically, mentally and emotionally. If it was the Taeyeon she was before, she would just be screaming, acting reckless and stupid. But now, she thought that everything should come to a closure. It was time to let her go, to move on from all the unbearable pain. She was such a precious kid, loved by all. The 8 of them doted on this little kid sister so much. None of them could bear to let her go. All the memories started flooding in to when Taeyeon first met Seohyun when they were still little kids, to now seeing her all grown up to be a mature and gorgeous young woman. She had so much things left to do. So many unaccomplished dreams and goals she had was going down the drain. This was not fair at all. She closed her eyes. No tears were falling out, maybe because there was nothing left to cry out. She ran out of tears. Her eyes were red and swollen, and were dry like a dried-up well. However, she very well knew how her heart was crying and bleeding out. To Taeyeon, she has 9 parts in her heart. Now it felt like a chunk of it was gone.

Yonghwa was grasping onto the necklace so tightly. He was not going to put it on because he was going to wait for his girl to put it on for him. He was being delusional, telling himself that everything was going to turn out fine. Seohyun will be okay, he thought. She will be there looking energetic like she always was when he arrives. She will continue her career, get married to Yonghhwa and live a happily ever after. That was it. That was what is going to happen. She was going to be alright. "She will return home in my arms." Yonghwa thought. He blamed himself so much. He aplogised over and over again in his head. "I'm sorry Juhyun ah... I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I should've known better. I'm sorry Juhyun......I love you. I love you so very much...." Why did he not realise when he saw her. She clearly looked different the last time they met. He was angry back then, really angry. But that did not change his love for her one bit. He thought about how much pain she must have went through as the guilt doubled and tripled. If he had a choice, he would have chose to take over Seohyun's place in a heartbeat. With no hesitation at all. He was mad, thinking why did it not happen to him instead. She does not deserve this at all. He thought about what he said right before he walked off that day, and possibly from her life on that very day. 

"Live well.. I don't think we'll be seeing each other anymore. Don't look for me anymore. I don't deserve it."

This sentence echoed in his head a million times. The memories, the good and the bad just started coming back to him. She gave all her love for him but he always took it for granted. He thought how she never once complained, and how she understood his work and knew how passionate he was towards his work. She was his biggest fan and vice-versa. Regrets, regrets and more regrets. He regretted taking everything she gave him for granted. He regretted not caring a little more becuase he was too focused on his career. He regretted not loving a little more. Most of all, he regretted leaving her. All these thoughts caused tears to fall, fall and fall.

Taeyeon turned towards Yonghwa upon hearing his sobs. She saw how in pain he was. She gently placed her hand on his shoulder and told him,

Taeyeon:"It's not too late to make things right."

Yonghwa suddenly stopped crying after hearing Taeyeon's words.

Taeyeon:"She said she did not want to tell you, she said she did not want you to see her in this miserable state. She said she did not want to see you. These are all what she said. But truthfully, her heart was saying otherwise. You're the one she loves the most, the person she wished to see the most when she's in pain or despair. You're the person she needed the most. Instead of blaming yourself for something that has already happened and cannot be undone, do something for her. It's not too late to do the right thing."

Yonghwa did not say anything, but every word and every emotion that Taeyeon displayed, sunk in deep in his heart and mind. She was right, he thought. It was not too late to do the right thing. He finally regained his senses after Taeyeon's counselling and his mind and heart were driven again. He was going to do the right thing, he thought.

Finally, they arrived and at the speed of lighting, Taeyeon and Yonghwa together with the manager, all rushed up to Seohyun's ward. The 8 girls heard footsteps and immediately knew it was Taeyeon.

Tiffany:"TAEYEON AH."

Taeyeon was astonished to see the looks on all of their faces and the girls were shocked to see Yonghwa as well. Yonghwa was so impatient that he skipped greetings and immediately asked with a panic-strickened face.

Yonghwa:"Where is Juhyun. Where is she?"

The girls started to cry again upon hearing her name.

Taeyeon:"Tiff. Where. Is. She."

This time Taeyeon was dead scared as she had never seen this level of anxiety and fear from the girls.

Tiffany wanted to speak but her tears choked her and no words were coming out except for her souless wails. 

Yonghwa:"Tiffany-Shii. Calm down. What is going on."

Yonghwa tried to calm her down to let her speak.

Taeyeon grabbed onto Tiffany's shoulders and forced her body to face her. The manager was busy trying to calm the other girls down.

Taeyeon:"Tiff. Breathe."

Tiffany calmed down and started to speak.

Tiffany:"The... doctor said..."

-Flashback-

The operation was over as the red light went off. The doctor as well as the team of nurses, who wheeled out Seohyun with more machines and needles attached to her. The girls ran over to doctor and crowded around him. Jessica impatiently asked with her worried eyes,

Jessica:" How is she. She's.. alright right? tell me..."

The doctor stayed silent for a couple of seconds. He looked down as he picked up the courage to relay the news.

Doctor:"I'm sorry.. But.. I've done my best. Her tumor has already begun spreading to her heart as well as to her other organs and there is nothing I can do about it. All my years as a doctor, this is the first time I've seen a tumor spread so quickly. I'm afraid, the clock is counting down. She wouldn't live past... She wouldn't live past midnight today. I'm... sorry... "

The girls were frozen. Time stood still as their whole world crumbled down. This was it. It was over. They were going to watch their only kid sister leave forever right before their very eyes. It was the most painful experience anyone can ever have. Watching your loved one dying slowly and there is absolutely nothing you could do about it. That pain was incomparable to any other kind of pain in the world. Their eyes, wanted to cry, but thier hearts were crying out louder. They did not have any energy. At this point they were not Girls' Generation. Just a family losing their very own. 

Yoona:"No.... Please doctor you've to save her... Please... I beg you..."

Yoona got on her knees as she begged the doctor.

Yuri and Hyoyeon:"YOONA AH!"

The doctor was flustered and did not know what to do. He felt so guilty that he could not do anything for them. He knew how much these girls loved her as he watched them not eat, not sleep and just being sad, scared and lethargic all day. He himself wanted to cry. All his years as a doctor, he had never felt this attached to a patient.

Doctor:"Yoona-Shii. Please don't do this. I don't deserve this."

He quicky pulled Yoona up, as Yoona quickly threw herself into Yuri's embrace and cried her heart out.

Jessica felt like the world was literally over. Jessica asked although she knew very well the answer, but she was still praying for a glimpse of hope.

Jessica:"Is...There really nothing that can be done...?"

The doctor shook his head, he was too choked up to say anything. 

Doctor:"I'm sorry...."

Apologising was the only thing he could do now. He felt useless as, as a doctor, watching your patient dying and not being able to do anything is the worst feeling a doctor could ever experience.

Hyoyeon:"Can... we see her then?"

Doctor:"Of course. Please go ahead. She's awake."

-End of flashback-

Upon hearing the news. The both of them felt like their soul had entirely left them. Yonghwa's heart skipped a beat. He felt terrible. Pain everywhere. His heart, his mind. Just everywhere. He was really going to lose her for good. But then Taeyeon's words came to mind and helped him get back up as it repeated a few times in his head.

"It's not too late to do the right thing."

Tiffany:"We've all seen her. She wouldn't talk or say anything to us. It really breaks my heart. Taeyeon and Yonghwa, Please try and make her say something. Our hearts are breaking seeing her like this."

Taeyeon was lifeless as well. She tried not to cry although it was not going to work anyway.

Taeyeon:"Okay.. Tiff.. Go rest.. I'll try go talk to her. Yonghwa you wait outside first."

Yonghwa did not reply and just stood there.

Taeyeon:"Tiff. Take care of him for me."

Tiffany nodded and Taeyeon walked towards Seohyun's ward. She was too afraid to open the door, for the sight of Seohyun in pain may be too much for her to handle.

She finally opened the door as she staggered back at the sight of Seohyun in such a terrible state. Her lips were dry and cracked, needles and machines were everywhere around her. Her skin was colourless, her face had no blood in them. Her eyes... Her eyes were lifeless. It looked like Seohyun had really given up. Taeyeon heart broke over and over again as her tears fell one after another. She slowly moved towards her. She had never once seen Seohyun in such a state. Her gleeful and free-spirited personality vanished. All that was left was a dark and 'given-up' aura around her. Her tears and her heart were just... no words could describe it anymore.

Taeyeon:"Juhyun ah... Unnie is here..."

Seohyun ignored. Taeyeon was extremely taken aback as Seohyun had never once ignored her Unnies. Her head was turned away from Taeyeon. She did not want to even take a look at Taeyeon. Taeyeon was even more broken down at the sight of this. When Taeyeon tried to hold onto Seohyun's ice cold hand, Seohyun did not let her. She coldly moved her hand away from Taeyeon's touched. Taeyeon was in total despair watching her strong Maknae just looking exhausted and had literally lost her will to live. 

Taeyeon:"Juhyun ah... Don't do this to me. Unnie is in so much pain watching you in this state."

Seohyun was listening to Taeyeon sobs. She thought to herself,

: "Unnie... I'm sorry. I have to do this. If i cling on, it'll be harder for you to let go. I'm sorry Unnie. Forgive me." 

She bit her lip hard and closed her eyes hard to control the tears from gushing out.

Taeyeon:"It's okay Juhyun ah if you don't want to talk to me."

Taeyeon did not know what to do as she felt so useless as an Unnie and as leader. Taeyeon left the room knowing there was nothing she could do. Seohyun felt so guilty inside as she let a teardrop fall as she closed her eyes. 

Suddenly, the door opened again and she thought it was Taeyeon again, she quickly looked away and closed her eyes trying to look as cold as possible. However, the air felt different and a voice spoke,

Yonghwa:"Juhyun ah..."

Seohyun was startled to hear Yonghwa's voice and told herself that she was crazy. There was no way he would be here. She thought :"I must be crazy. He can't be here."

Yonghwa:"Juhyun ah...I'm here...."

This time she was sure it was real. She was not hallucinating. It was really him. Oh... How she missed him calling her name.

Her eyes started to water up again. She turned to him and uttered her first word ever since she came out of the operation theatre. And in her husky and hoarse voice,

Seohyun:"..........Op..pa....."
