Chapter 0; Boys' School!?

In the midst of the hot summer, I walked on the streets to Hwanhee Flower Shop. My part time job was there, and I have to work for the sake of my family.

Suddenly, somebody called my name. "Hwansun!" I turned around and saw Eunhye.

"Annyeong, Eunhye." I smiled at her.

She smiled back. "Are you going to your part time job again?"

I nodded. "Mhm. Why?"

"Go to the cafe first! Please~"

I sighed. "Ahjumma might get mad. I don't want to be late." I said and continued walking.

"Wait, wait!" She grabbed my arm.

I turned around again.

"Please! You know, we might not see each other anymore after this! Please, Hwansun-ah~" She pouted.

I sighed once again. "Fine."

She jumped in joy. "Yaay~! C'mon, let's go!" She grabbed my wrist and we headed to the cafe she worked for.

The cafe was as same as always. Lovely, neat & always full of guys. Eunhye worked here as her part time job. When there was school, she would drag me here after school and would force ask me to wait for her to go home. But, sometimes I sneak out and go to my part time job.

We entered the cafe and Jungsoo greeted us. "Hello, masters!" She bowed and looked at us. "Oh, it's just you guys." She smiled.

Eunhye smiled at her. "Annyeong, Jungsoo Eonni~!" She said happily.

Jungsoo smiled at her. "Hello, Eunhye-ah." She looked at me. "Hello once again, Hwansun-ah."

I nodded at her.

"Anyway, Eunhye-ah. Manager Eonni is waiting for you in the staff room." She said.

Eunhye nodded. "Okay then~ Hwansun, just wait for me, okay?"

I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Fine. Just be quick."

Eunhye smiled and nodded. "Alright~!" She then left.

I pouted. "I'm always getting dragged by her here. Aigoo, I'm late for my work."

Jungsoo giggled. "Just bare with her for a while."

I nodded.

After a few minutes, Eunhye came out from the staff room looking a little pissed off.

"What's wrong?" I asked her.

"Manager Eonni said that I have to work all day today, since alot of staff members are in vacation," She sighed. "You can go now."

I smiled. "Okay! Bye~!" I left the cafe.

I walked to the store and saw Ahjumma watering some flowers.

She smiled at me and said, "Hello, Hwansun."

"Sorry for being late again, Ahjumma.." I rubbed the back of my neck.

"Oh, it's ok. There aren't much people today, so it's alright." She smiled again.

I smiled a little. "Alright then.."

I went to work as usual; watering the flowers, guarding the shop, & arranging the flowers.

Then, a tall, good-looking guy came inside the store.

"Welcome!" I said.

He looked at me and smiled.

"May I help you, sir?" I asked.

"Oh, I want to buy a bouqet of flowers.." He said.

"Alright then. What flowers do you like?" I asked.

He looked around the store for good flowers.

Then, he finally picked one. Red roses.

"I'll take these, then." He said.

"Okay." I said.

He paid, and left.

"He was kinda cute.." I mumbled. I then shooked my head. "Aigoo.. Stop thinking about this, Hwansun!" 

After work, I got home.

"I'm home." I said. I saw my mom inside the kitchen.

"Welcome home, Hwansun." She smiled at me.

I smiled back and went to my room.

I looked at the calendar and crossed the date today and sighed. "It's almost school day again."

I sat on my bed and thought, "What if I can't go to school? What should I do? I can't make it to college.. We're too poor.." I put my pillow into my face.

Then, the door opened and revealed mom.

"Hwansun, I need to talk to you." She said and closed the door.

"Okay.. What is it?"

She sat next to me. "You want to go to school, right?"

I nodded. "Yes. I'll do anything, just to go to school. For the sake of our family. I want to graduate."

She smiled a little. "I know. You already know that we are having trouble with money, right?"

"Yes. That's why I want to get into college... so that I can have a job and we won't have any problem now."

"... Then, can you enter a boys' school?"

"EH!?" I stood up, shocked at what my mom said. "Mom! I can't enter a boys' school! I'm not a boy!"

"I know. But, it's the only school we can afford." She stood up and touched my shoulders. "I promise, Hwansun. I'll make it up to you someday. I promise." She hugged me.

I sighed. "Alright."
