"Oppa, is everything alright?"

Hae Yeon meekly asked as Kyu Jong was driving them home. 
She'd returned from the washroom to find the guys engaged in a serious conversation
and he hadn't been in a good mood since.

"Hae Yeon ah, forget about him"

"De?"

"Forget about Young Saeng hyung"

It had taken her a while to realize that she had somehow come to yearn for him in her life,
and the words seemed to hit her hard. The emotions she had been holding back were released
in an instant, catching Kyu Jong by surprise as he noticed the tears from the corner of his eyes.

"Pabo… do you really like him that much?"

"…"

Hae Yeon's POV
All this while I thought of him as a friend. I really don't know when it happened.
The times we spent together, did they mean anything to him? Or did he do it out of responsibility?
Is it really all over?

"I'll be sure to give him a piece of my mind"

"Oppa don't… I'm fine"

"Look at yourself now"

"He must have his reasons…"

"This girl…"

Kyu Jong's POV
Even though I don't quite know what happened between them, it does seem like Hyung has
some reservations. He isn't the sort to just play with someone. I should have known better…

"Hyung Jun ah…"

"Young Saeng hyung, what's up? You didn't get yourself injured again did you?"

It was close to midnight when he called, so Hyung Jun couldn't help but worry
that his friend had run into trouble again.

"What else did you tell Kyu Jong about Hae Yeon and I?"

"What did I tell Kyu Jong? I only mentioned that there was this girl you were interested in"

"You didn't tell him about how I was avoiding her?"

Hyung Jun had indeed been telling Young Saeng off whenever he stared at his ringing phone
instead of picking it up, but definitely hadn't told Kyu Jong about what was going on.

He knew the reason behind her calls, and he especially felt bad for letting slip on Young Saeng's
suspension as it caused Hae Yeon to worry.

"No I didn't. Did something happen?"

"She's Kyu's cousin. He seems to know about it… and he's really upset"

"What? I told you to have a proper talk with her…"

"I'm sorry if I caused any misunderstanding. You shouldn't get too involved with me"

Young Saeng stared at the message he had retyped several times and sighed as he
pressed the delete button again. His earlier conversation with Hyung Jun had left him
in a dilemma as he finally figured out what had triggered Kyu Jong's outburst.

It was Hae Yeon whom he had heard from, and he never thought that his actions would have affected her.

Flashback

"Was she the reason you turned up at my place that night for a drink? You were with her just before that?"

"..."

"What's going on? Now that I recall, Hyung Jun did mention that you were spending a lot of time with a girl…"

"Kyu Jong ah, I'm sorry. She shouldn't get too involved with me"

"What are you talking about now? How could you just toy with her feelings and disappear as you wish?"

"Disappear?"

"I've never seen her look this lost… please stay away from her if you're not serious"

End of Flashback

Hyung Jun was right about it. He should have dealt with the situation in a more mature way than
to have just disappeared without a word. He was desperate to cut off all forms of communication
with Hae Yeon to protect her, but he had ended up hurting her unintentionally.

"Sorry. I never meant to hurt her. I just don't want to put her in danger"

He ended up sending a text message to Kyu Jong instead, hoping that it'll ease the misunderstanding
that had happened.

There were issues he needed to deal with and it would probably make things worst if he contacted
Hae Yeon again, so he decided to leave things as they were until the time was right.

"Hae Yeon ah, I'm really sorry. This is the only way I can protect you…"
