“Have you been drinking? Junhyung-ah! Where have you been?”

“None of your business! You don’t love me, so why should you care?”

“Because we’re friends! And friends look out for each other!” She snatched the bottle away from him, hurling it out the window. A satisfying tinkle of broken glass pierced the tense silence.

“I just… I just…” Without warning, he suddenly fell to his knees and started sobbing. “I want you to love me! Is that too much to ask?!”

She knelt beside him, tears falling fast. “I’m so sorry, Junhyung. Maybe…maybe I should go.”

 “Please don’t leave me.” He looked up at her, eyes red with alcohol and tears with a desolate, heart breaking expression on his face. “Please, don’t ever leave me.”

“I won’t.” I can’t. “We’ll work through this, okay? We’re friends. We can talk. You promised me we’ll stay friends forever, Junhyung.”

“Promise you won’t leave me?”

“I will never leave you, not until the day we die,” she vowed. And then I’ll have eternity to think about what I’ve done to you.
