“Please go out with her? She’s perfect for you, I know it.” Lies.

“Hana, you are the one for me. Nothing’s going to change that.”

“Please. Do it for me. I’m your friend, right? We agreed to it,” she reminded. “Just give her a chance. Don’t think about me for the rest of tonight, okay?”

“Only for you.”

“I really enjoyed our date tonight,”  Haneul said sincerely. Haneul. Hana.

“I did too.” He smiled. It wasn’t a lie – he had enjoyed her company, but he knew, in his heart, that if Hana were there he would’ve liked it a lot more. “Um, can I have your number please?”

“Sure!” Cheerfully she scribbled down the memorised digits on a scrap piece of paper she found in her purse, as if she was expecting him asking.

Hana would never do that. And he was breaking his promise to her again, if you could call it that.
