Chapter 6

Tiffany slowly opened her eyes & began to take in her surroundings. She carefully sat up & looked down. She screamed & tried to cover herself with the minimal cloth she still had on. Her knee-length, navy blue dress was torn & stained with dried blood. Not until then did she realize what had happened to her. Tears formed in her eyes again. She lifted herself up & walked out of the alley. With a sniffle, she began heading home once again. A dark blue car pulled over & the same lady from the store came out of the driver side.

“Miss, are you alright? Oh my, Tiffany. What happened?” She quickly took out off her striped mist blue jacket & tried to cover Tiffany up.

“I b...bumped into a man accidentally & he…he ra.” She couldn’t continue. It was too much to handle.

“It’s alright now. Let me take you home.” She led Tiffany to the passenger side & opened the door for her. When they were both inside, Tiffany asked.

“Miss…”

“You can call me Jiwoo, dear.”

“D...Do you happen to have any spare clothes? I don’t want to go home looking like this.”

“You can borrow my daughter’s clothes. She’s in London anyway. I will take you to my place first & then I will send you right home.” Everything was a blur for Tiffany. She had lost her glasses back at the alley. Something clicked & her hand quickly flew to the back of her neck & then to her left dress pocket. She heaved a sigh of partial relief. Time passed & soon, she was on her way home again. Jiwoo stopped in front of the large front gate.

“Alright, dear. You are safe now. You are home.” Tiffany mustered a thanks & waved goodbye. Jiwoo drove away, leaving Tiffany alone in front of the gates. She took a couple stepped forward & rang the doorbell. Bora came running out towards her. She unlocked the gates & Tiffany immediately gave her a hug.

“Bora, I’m scared. I’m really scared.” She didn’t cry. She no longer had the energy to cry.

“Oh, Tiffany. Let’s get you inside. It’s so cold out here. Come on.” Tiffany held onto Bora’s hand as they walked into the house. Everyone was there. Her mother, Mr & Mrs. Kim, Jaejoong & many other maids. Insook looked at her daughter & went up to her.

“Look what you did! You made all of us worry! Even auntie & uncle Kim stayed up to wait for your return! You scared all of us! Bora was running around all over the place looking for you! Young master Jaejoong drove around the city looking for you! It’s five in the morning! Aren’t you supposed to be in your uniform?1 Why are you wearing that?!” Insook was furious & she didn’t bother hiding it. Tiffany could tell she was worried. She replied in a soft voice.

“I’m sorry, mom. I won’t do it again. I had gotten my uniform dirty so I went to Seohyun’s house. She lent me some of her clothes & I lost track of time. I’m sorry.” She didn’t want to say anymore. She just wanted to turn on the water & clean herself. She felt dirty. She then turned her attention to Mrs. Kim. She walked up to her & handed her the gift, “This is for you, auntie Kim. Happy birthday. I hope you like it.” She gave her the best smile she could fake & walked towards the servant quarter. She heard her mother speaking behind her.
