Chapter 24

“What? You have got to be kidding me. Why didn’t you tell me this when he was there? You just let him get away with it like that? You disgrace the female gender. I spit on your shoe.” Her saliva barely missed Tiffany’s black terry open-toe scuff slipper.

“Wait, Seohyun. Don’t kill me yet. What was I supposed to do? I mean, he had a really tight grip on me.” She was still trying to get over the fact that Seohyun actually tried to spit on her.

“He gripped you around the waist. Hint hint, you still have your legs. Kick him in the family jewel. That always does the job.” Seohyun was serious, “& I’m dead serious, too.”

“Seohyun, nothing happened. See, I’m still standing here in front of you, aren’t I? Come on, Seohyun.” Her reassurance didn’t seem to help.

“What about Jaejoong Oppa? How are you going to tell him about this whole mess? What will you tell him?” Tiffany didn’t know what to say. What was there to say? “I think you should tell him right now. I mean, the longer this is hidden, the more dangerous it becomes.”

“Well, you see, there’s kind of a problem.” She trailed off.

“What kind of problem?” She cocked an straight eyebrow.

“We kind of aren’t together anymore. We broke up.”

“What?” Seohyun fell down onto the nearest cushion, “When did this happen? You guys looked fine during dinner.”

“It happened after you & Hyunjoong Oppa left.”

“But I told him to take you home, not break up with you.”

“He didn’t break up with me. I broke up with him.”

“Why in the world would you do such a thing like that? You have waited over six years for this chance to be with him & you blew it. What has been going through that head of yours lately?”

Tiffany looked down & sighed, “He’s been avoiding me. When I call him, he tells me that he’s busy & then hangs up the phone. I even tried getting a hold of him in his office but his secretary kept saying he was busy & wouldn’t let me in. Then when I tried to talk to him at his house, he brushed me off. It wasn’t even him. He sent a maid to tell me to leave. Am I not worthy enough to see him?” Taking in a couple deep breaths, she began again, steadier this time, “Last night, I tried to talk to him but he pushed me aside again. I don’t know what he wants from me anymore. I have tried again & again, but he keeps pushing me away. What am I to do? I feel like he doesn’t want me anymore.” Immediately, a pair of arms embraced her. Tiffany returned the hug.

“Oh, Tiffany. I’m sorry. You never told me anything about that. You are certainly not at fault here but I think that it’s not fully Jaejoong Oppa’s fault either. I mean, his mother just passed away about a month ago. The only ones he has left is you & his dad. You know that he doesn’t speak to his dad that often.” Tiffany could only nod, “Perhaps he just can’t find a way to tell you what’s wrong
