Chapter 30

She took another step towards the large gate. Tiffany knew that she wasn’t supposed to be there but she really wanted to clear up the misunderstanding.

“Are you ever planning on entering or are you just going to stand there?” From behind, Seohyun gave her a slight nudge.

“I don’t know about this. I mean, don’t you think I should wait for a little while?” Her fingers were shaking, “It’s already been a couple of days now. Whatever rage he had in that damn head of his must be gone by now!” “But what if it’s not?” Her chin began to wobble.

“If not, a couple of slaps from me will surely do the job.” Seohyun grinned an evil one, “Look, here comes Bora.” Sure enough, the maid, looking like she was still thirty, came right out, “Hello, Bora. Haven’t seen you in a while. How have you been?”

“Miss Seohyun. Oh, I have been good. How about yourself?” Bora gave Seohyun one of her heart-warming hugs, “What are you two doing here at this hour?”

“We were actually looking for Jaejoong Oppa. Is he home yet?”

“Actually, he’s been coming home late every night. He’s not home yet.” A frown formed on her lips.

“It’s alright, Bora. We can wait.” Tiffany cut in, “Would you mind if us two busy bodies stay here for a while?”

“Of course, I won’t mind. Perhaps you could tell me what happened.” Bora led the them to the family room, “Have a seat. I will go & get you two a drink.” Tiffany stopped her.

“It’s alright Bora, we are not thirsty. Sit down, I have some things I want to ask you.” Bora took her seat across from them, “Do you have any idea if Oppa is alright?”

“I don’t know. I mean, I know that he comes home after midnight because I wait for him but I don’t really know what’s wrong. He’s been coming home with the smell of alcohol all over him. He’s been drinking I assume. Everything started on tuesday when he came home. I haven’t really spoken to him yet.” She held her hands together as if she was praying, “Why? Did you two have an argument?”

“Well, it was…”

Seohyun interrupted her immediately, “Well, it began years ago.” Tiffany let Seohyun inform Bora with the needed information. She thanked the lord that she had a friend like her. She certainly wouldn’t be able to explain about the situation without the fear of breaking down & crying, “& then on tuesday, he overheard a conversation that Tiffany & I were having. Of course, he only caught bits & pieces so he misunderstood.” Bora nodded in understanding, “Now, we are trying to explain things to him.”

“Well, I’m not really sure what time he will be back.”

“It’s alright, we have plenty of time. We can wait.”

The three of them sat comfortably by the fireplace, waiting patiently. Well, Seohyun & Bora did. Tiffany was having the devil of a time trying to stop fidgeting. After what Bora told her, she was even more worried than she was before. He was coming home drunk. Jaejoong was never a drinker & now, all of a sudden, he’s coming home with the smell of alcohol all over him. What has she done?

They heard loud knocks on the door & Bora stood up to open the door. Jaejoong was seen smacking onto the tile floor, face first. Tiffany practically ran to him, trying to help him up. All she received for her good gesture was a hard push towards the nearest wall. Her scream echoed throughout the large hallways.

“Hey. How dare you push her like that you jerk?!” Seohyun went to Tiffany’s aid, “She was only trying to help you out. You didn’t even thank her. Instead, you made her join you on this darn floor!”

“Seohyun, I’m okay, really.” Tiffany tried to point out while holding back her tears, “Help Oppa up first.” She didn’t want to admit that her head was hurting like hell!

“No. He can get up himself.” Seohyun continued help her up as Bora helped Jaejoong out.

“What are you doing here? Didn’t I say that I never wanted to see you again? Get out of here. You are not welcome here.” In the process of trying to get himself standing again, Jaejoong cut himself with pieces of glasses from the broken beer bottle.

“Oppa. You are bleeding. Here, let me help you bandage it.” Tiffany slowly made her way back to where he stood & begged, “Don’t be like this. Let me explain, please?”

He gave her another push, “No, I don’t want to hear anymore of your lies.”

“They are not lies, Oppa.” Then her voice broke down to a whisper, “I love you. You know that I would never do anything to hurt you. Why would I go & sleep with another or even go & see him?”

“Who knows what sick thoughts you have. I certainly don’t.”

“Listen to me, Oppa. I didn’t sleep with him. He…”

“No. I don’t want to hear anymore from you.”

“Oppa, I love you.”

“& I hate you, Tiffany Hwang. I never want to talk to you again.” Everyone went silent. Neither Bora nor Seohyun made a move towards the two.

Her heart, now frozen, broke into pieces. He hated her. He hated her.

“Fine, I will leave you alone.” Tiffany turned & headed towards the open doorway, “Don’t come asking me to take you back because I won’t. Just remember. This was your decision. You better not regret it.” She wiped the angry tears from her eyes away & walked out. She heard a couple of things before everything faded from her ear.

“She didn’t sleep with anyone. She was . Now you have lost her.” Tiffany didn’t have to wait very long for Seohyun to join
