"Who did this Kai?"

His frozen fingers made the other jump at his touch. The crisp sheets scrambled and scrunched under Kai as he tried to cover himself from Kyungsoo. 

"Kai, stop."

Fretting and backing away from Kyungsoo, Kyungsoo felt distanced once again, much like when he had first met Kai in that alleyway.

"Kai. Stop."

He stilled, holding the thin sheet up with feeble hands. His demeanour had turned childlike, smaller and more fragile than his usual bright aura. His eyes had become alert and scared, his mop of hair slightly messed up.
Kyungsoo held out his hands to beakon Kai over.

"Kai, come over here, I'll just clean up the makeup"

His shake of the head seemed uncertain. Unsure.

"I promise, look" 

Kyungsoo backed up to retrieve the fallen baby wipes and held them up.

"Please Kai"

With light, soundless steps on the carpeted floor he saw that Kai made no attempt to run away. Motionless he waited.
Kyungsoo approached as if he was trying to catch a bird - with pigeon steps and no sound. Kai sat and watched everything he did, unblinking.

The sheet was unconsciously raised higher with each pace closer Kyungsoo became.

He was facing Kyungsoo by the time Kyungsoo had found his place in front of Kai. 

Extracting a wipe from the packet he extended a hand towards Kai's cheek, the other only marginally moving away. He wiped Kai's cheek with gentle, soothing before moving to the other side. 
It was a small distraction from the sight he'd witness before so he chose to  give on to the tranquil vibes.

Kyungsoo unknowingly bit down on his bottom lip to focus his vision, tracing the wipe over and under each eye, cleansing and cleaning off the excess. He trailed his fingers down his face to cross Kai's lips, swiping away the lipstick adorning them. 
Kai watched each tender expression that formed on Kyungsoo's face, each filled with careful affection, and each sending waves of guilt through him for pushing him away.

The tissue had dried up by the time he lowered his hand back to his side. His other hand also contained the rest of the used wipes, his hand loosely curled into a ball, collecting a humid temperature of sweat and past surprises. Marks of red and black ha
