Chapter Thirty-one
In Sickness And In HealthI look up at the white building, and I swallow my fear. Or at least I try, it seems to get stuck in my throat, I can hardly breathe.
"Jagi, don't worry, it will be fine." Yongguk is holding my hand, walking me to the entrance of the hospital, barely recognizable. He is wearing a disguise, but despite the sunglasses I can still see the exhaustion in his features. He didn't sleep at all last night, anxious to get to me as soon as possible after fulfilling his duties. But I am so glad he is here with me. Knowing he wants to spend every difficult moment with me. Even if it means he has to get back immediately after we get out of the hospital. It doesn't matter. He is here.
I walk straight to the elevators, hating the smell, the sounds, the sight. Everything about hospitals gets on my nerves. Third floor. And then a left turn right away, and continuing to the doctor's cabinet.
"I'm glad to see you are not alone this time," the doctor says to me.
"Me too," I answer whit a little smile towards my husband.
"You may take seat, today's treatment will last about 45 minutes."
Nearly an hour later, Yongguk and I are sitting in the car again. My hands are shaking and I rest my head against the cool window.
"Jagi?"
"Hmm. I'm fine, Yeobo. Don't worry." I am. Besides the hammering headache. And the nausea.
