Zelo was right. She is sick. She looks pale, skinnier than I remember. Her eyes are watery, with dark circles underneath. She is becoming a ghost of the girl she used to be. All because of the cancer. The disease that is slowly consuming her. But she must have been so strong, carrying this burden on her own, without me to rely on. If only she would have allowed me to be there, to hold her hand when she was scared, to wipe away her tears and kiss her softly. I can never make up for all those lost moments.

"I will stay tonight." She's not protesting. She's not agreeing. She just holds me close. I know she won't let me go. And I won't let go of her.

"Just promise me one thing, Jagi." She looks up at me, her eyes big and round with fear when she realizes my voice cracked. I can't cry anymore now, I have to be strong for her.

"Tell me, anything," she whispers while she rests her hand on my jaw.

"No matter what happens. Promise me you will keep on fighting. Don't let this drag you down." She wants to nod, but the movement of her head fades away, just like her smile.

"But yeobo," she says softly, a tear rolling down her cheek, "what if this is a fight I can't win?" I promised myself not t cry anymore, but just the mere thought of losing her paralyzes me.
