LEETEUK’S POV

After the clinic incident this morning, I sensed a strange aura between Sica and Hae. I can sense it, but I can’t seem to point my fingers as to what it is. All I know is that ever since Hae made a walkout scene inside the clinic, his treatment towards Sica was different.

“Someone should tell her that although life is about trusting our feelings and taking chances, it is also about appreciating the memories and learning from the past.”, that was a very dramatic statement he left before leaving. I don’t know if it was just me, or his words seemed to have carry a lot of weight in to it, like all his emotions were drawn into it.

Lately, he changed. Maybe because of their breakup, but isn’t it supposed to be the opposite change? Hae is the type of guy who doesn’t really like the presence of girls. He won’t talk to them unless it’s school-related or a matter of life and death. The only ones in the female species he talks to are the ones in his family and Yoona. Lately? He seemed to not be bothered by the presence of the other girls, especially Sica. He even brought her home on the night that were supposed to have a nightout together, and offered to stay and take care of her when we were executing our plan F.O.J.R [A.N: If you remember the bar action in Chapter 6 and  their childish investigation in Chapter 10. ;)]

And now, he’s back. He’s been cold towards girls again, and again! Especially Sica. But there’s still something fishy in his actions, just like what we said earlier, he isn’t the type to really take care of girls not related to him. But his actions now, tsk tsk tsk.

I guess I wasn’t the only one who noticed his actions. While we were in the cafeteria counter, ordering for the girls, four of us are usually the ones who buy for the girls, but what shocked us was when he told the counter lady he would buy 2 orders of this and that. The rest of us looked at each other in astonishment, but we gave each other a look that seems to have a message saying we should shrug it off for the mean time.

When we arrived at our seats, I know for a fact that I’m no longer the only one who has his eyes on him. I can see them eyeing him for a short while, just checking him. We saw what happened, although it was only for a split second, we saw how their eyes locked and how they avoided their gazes. Did we react? Hmm, no.

Maybe that’s the difference between guys and gals. We tend to analyze the (what seems to be romantic) situation first before we react. Based on my experience, if girls witnessed what we saw, they would shout things like “OMG!” or something like that. I have a sister, so I know.

The boys and I gave each other a knowing look. We’ve spent four years together, so we basically know the meaning of each of our actions. Wanna know? Can’t tell you. Just let Hae do the talking about the meaning behind those actions when he gets his own POV, right authornim?

Since we can’t seem to get an answer from the two of them, we just chose to not bother about it anymore. There’s a right timing for that, now isn’t the time.

Our attention went back to our new found friend, Sunny. As we were on the process of getting to know her well, we discovered that she wasn’t the type of person to use her background for her own advantage. Imagine what great advantages she could get if people knew how she is related to the school owner or SME CEO. She could go to any place she want without breaking a sweat. But no, she’s not that type. Maybe that’s why she and the other girls got along quite easily.

Have you ever had that feeling like someone was watching you from afar? Like even before you’ve seen someone stare at you, you can tell that there’s a pair of eyes focusing on you? Well maybe it’s just my crazy feelings or my instincts is just kicking in. While the rest were busy asking Sunny about this and that, I scanned the cafeteria, trying to confirm my instincts.

Bingo!

One pair of eyes, in the sea of staring eyes, caught my attention. It was from a guy seated not too far from us, but is far enough to be unnoticed. If other stares of amazement and jealousy, his was tender and full of emotions. I’m not saying that the gaze was directed towards me, it’s just that I have my sixth sense is telling me.

I followed his eyes, and I was guessing he’s looking at one of the seven girls, but to my surprise, he’s eyes were darted to Sunny.

I looked at the guy again, trying to familiarize his face, and trying to check if I know him. And another bingo! It’s the announcer guy, whose voice always echoing the whole school building. I smirked. Oh lala~ Is this one of those HD thing that they say? If so, it’d be thrilling to watch what will happen.

*dolphin scream*

“OMG! What happened to her?”, asked by the panicking girls, rushing to Sica’s side, fanning her.

“I don’t know, she just opened her sandwich, screamed and that!”, Sunny answered also in a tensed voice.

“Hand me the sandwich.”, Taeyeon told Hae, who was sitting right beside Sica and acted as her wall, her head resting on his shoulder. Obedient as he is, he handed Taengoo the sandwich.

“Do not be alarmed, girls. It’s just that thing again. There’s one in her sandwich.”, with that being said, the rest of the girls released a sigh of relief. Only Sunny and the boys were left dumbfounded as to what had happened. Their friend fainted and they’re calm like this.

Sooyoung was observant enough to realize that we were still in a state of shock explained to us what just happened, “It’s nothing really. She just saw that, as I quote Sica, slimy monster in that sandwich.”

I took the pleasure of looking at the sandwich, searching for the slimy monster, but I couldn’t find one. So I asked, “I don’t see any monster here. Only dressing, lettuce and cucumber. Where’s the monster?”

“You already said it.”, the girls said in chorus, except for Sunny who were as lost as we are.

“Eh?!”, we confusedly asked, half-shouting.

“For Sica, and also us, a cucmber is a slimy monster.”

“Oh that. WHAT?! A cucumber just made her faint like that?”

“Well, yeah. You remember when you were peeping on us last time and she fainted?”, we just nodded, but before Yuri finishes, “Oh. Sunny. It’s not like peeping in a ert-ish way. We were just making sure they were okay. And Sica fainted when she saw us. Isn’t that the reason why she fainted? Due to shock?”, I said.

She shook her head, and continued, “No, she wouldn’t faint just because of that single thing. You may not have seen it, and neither did we before she fainter, but there was a cucumber plant near our house, and that’s what made her faint. Same thing happened just moments ago, she saw the slimy monster so close to her and boom! That.”, she said the last word while pointing to the still unconscious Sica whose head was at Hae’s shoulder.

“I couldn’t imagine what would had happened if unnie ate it and discovered she was already chewing it.”, Seohyun said.

“You know what’s gonna happen next if that happened. She’s faint and wouldn’t for days.”, Sooyoung said.

“Is her phobia towards cucumbers really that great?”, Sunny asked.

“Yeahp. At first, we just thought she was just overacting about it, but then we discovered that it’s really serious.”, Tiffany said.

While the rest were focused on the story-telling the girls were doing about Sica and her cucumbers, I stole a glance of Hae and Sica. A smile formed on my lips.

Why? Hmmm.

I saw him brushing the hair that was covering Sica’s face and clipped it in the back of her hair. There was gentleness in the way he did that. There was something in the way he looked at her, on the way he caressed her face.

I shouldn’t conclude as early as now. Maybe what I’m thinking isn’t right. So, I turned my head to the others while there was still a smile forming on my lips.

It was time for us to go home, and we were already bidding our farewells to one another when I realized, “Sica, are you sure you’re well enough to be driving your car home?”. With that question, everyone looked at her for answer. But I’m pretty sure even if she tells them she’s fine enough to drive, they wouldn’t let her, or even us guys wouldn’t let her.

“What if I drive you home, and leave your car here in school?”, Tiffany offered.

“That would be a good idea, but there were recent news about car thieves breaking in the school. Believe me guys, I’m okay now.”, Sica defended herself, and smiled to us.

“But we wouldn’t allow you to drive yourself home when you visited the clinic for so many times today. Even if you tell us you’re alright, we can risk anything. Are we clear?”, and there goes my Taengoo being protective of her friends. This is why I love her so much. She’s a perfect girlfriend and friend. Too bad, I already have her, so no other guys can have her. *sticks tongue out to all the Taeyeon fanboys and fangirls who are reading*

“But--”, she didn’t even finish her sentence when the other girls shouted in chorus, “NO BUTS!”

“Psh. Whaetever. So do you guys have any better idea?”, she asked in a semi-pissed tone.

*light bulb*

*smirks*

*hides smirk*

“I have a brilliant idea.”, I said, making all their heads turn to face me. All their faces were full of curiosity and tinge of hopefulness. Then, they started became impatient, so before Eunhyuk and the other guys shout at me, I said..

“What if Hae drives her home using her car? I remember him saying early this morning that he didn’t bring his car with him. Think of it, no car will be left here, no risk of carnapping, everyone goes home safely. Brilliant, right?”

“ANDWE! I mean, wouldn’t that hassle him? He’s probably planning on going straight to his home, and driving me home isn’t part of his plan. Plus he would spend more money for fair. That’s impractical.”, aggressive then turned defensive. Hmmm. I’m really sensing something here from her.

“Actually, no. You could lend him your car, and he could return it to you tomorrow. And if you’re wondering how you will reach school tomorrow, and if you dislike commuting, he could pick you up in the morning with your car.”, I should praise myself for this. Playing cupid for my two broken-hearted friends. They should thank me later on if they ended up.. you know.. together. ;)

I saw the faces of the rest who were nodding and seemed to be agreeing to my suggestion. And I saw the boys have a small, unnoticeable if you don’t know them that well, smirk on their faces. They know what I’m doing. I know they do. But I only hope Hae doesn’t. He’d be aggravated if he knew. *crosses fingers*

“Well ,seems like it’s the only way out of this problem.”, Eunhyuk said.

“ So”, Kyuhyun added.

“Shall we?”, Siwon finished.

These guys are helping me. Bravo. They are smart enough to really guess what I’m trying to do. They’re even helping me out.  I know, that deep inside, they’re laughing evilly. So, I shall join them. *evil laugh inside my mind* Mwahahaha!

“Let’s go!”, the girls enthusiastically shouted, and headed towards their cars with keys on their hands. Before they entered their car, they waved to us and made their way towards the exit.

Me and Taengoo were the last ones to leave. I really made sure that we were the last ones, so that I could check what’s going on between the two. And as expected, they looked awkward towards one another.

“Tsk tsk. I know what you’re trying to do, Teukkie~”, I smiled. Yeah. I know you know. I thought to myself.
