Why Do You Care?

It Begins With Blood

He could feel Kyuhyun’s eyes on him as they walked during the worst of the midday heat, crouched irritably under the modified protective coverings the wolves and vampires had helped craft together so the latter could travel during the day by foot - clunky, metal umbrellas that they were.  They were more conspicuous than ever but the trailer was less than salvageable and after being trapped inside of it last time, none of their group wanted to court a repeat experience.  Still… the solution they’d come up with was questionable, to say the least.

It was, however, better than just sitting in place and he was only glad that the Kims had already gone off on their own.  Though they’d agreed to not fight each other, the Hunters couldn’t reconcile themselves to actually work with the nonhumans and rode off on their own with Mir in tow, after taking charge of the captive they’d acquired as well.  The Bang brother left Minsoo in Luna’s care and opted to try and temper the hotheaded nature of the Kims in their mission against the half-breed menace.

Luna in turn was taking the role very seriously as she sat atop the cab of the truck with Minsoo safely sequestered inside.  Her brothers Sungmin and Thunder both pulled the neutral vehicle behind them in their monstrous forms, dark and light fur coloration bleeding over as well.  Since the last attack, the nonhumans had given up the pretense of hiding as it didn’t appear to matter anyway.  In his wolf form, Karam loped alongside the vehicle, adding a protective measure to the other wounded figures inside, which included the exhausted Daesung and Sulli as well, both of whom were sleeping on either side of Minsoo.

In the other stolen jeep they’d acquired from their most recent foes, a similarly transformed Junsu pulled it behind him, taking charge of the most injured wolves and humans who sat within the protective structure.  With Hana and Jihoon in the front, and five others in the back, it was a tight fit but those who were more injured had been forbidden being carried, which included the wolf-kin Jiyong and Jongup.  Atop it, Minhyuk stoically manned the mounted, automatic rifle, peering through ‘borrowed’ sunglasses from one of the dead men they’d left behind.  He continually scanned in full circles, eyeing the moderately injured people resting in the back of the truck which also carried the majority of the salvaged equipment from Kyuhyun’s trailer.

Clustered in groups around the two slowly moving vehicles were four collections of vampires and the most able humans as they sought shelter under the strangely curved sheets of metal that allowed their extremely light sensitive companions to move during the day.  At his back, Ryeowook could feel Himchan nearby, keeping a measured distance from him as they both remained under cover.  At either side, he also had JR and Henry to keep him company, neither of whom had wanted to be separated after everything.  That didn’t exactly mean he was free from Kyuhyun’s constant scrutiny, however, and a glance ahead and slightly to his left, nearest the truck, showed the other vampire watching him while carrying a resting Kiseop with N holding the metal shield, flanked in turn by Minho and Yukwon; both the humans had rifles in their hands.  The wolves were taking no chances in making sure the Cho had at least decent protection while they traveled.

Ryeowook glared at him in disappointment before turning his attention back to the front.  His and Kyuhyun’s group were on one side of the truck while Sungmin and Jinki carried Zhou and Minzy on the other side, shielded in turn by the volunteered Hyoyeon and a less than ecstatic Hyosung.  When the sun started to set more, they would need to stop during the day, but for the time being, they had shade enough to continue on, even if they did look utterly ridiculous.

He flinched lightly when Henry brushed the back of his hand with gentle fingers.  “He gets grumpy when you’re mad at him,” the wolf-kin chuckled ruefully, shaking his head at the comment.

“What?” Ryeowook blinked, frowning in alarmed confusion at the unexpected words.

“Kyuhyun,” Henry clarified with a nod towards the vampire in question.  “See?” he pointed, earning a narrow eyed glare from the vampire which made Henry grunt and look away.  “Yeah…”

Still perturbed with him, Ryeowook frowned right back and was surprised when Kyuhyun actually dropped his gaze with a look that was almost a pout.  “Well, he shouldn’t be so stupid then,” he sighed in irritation, feeling all manner of troubled over the situation.

Himchan chuckled at his back, apparently ready to say something, but JR spoke first.  “He’s just an arrogant know-it-all.  You heard how he was actually using Luna to get a reaction out of that damned hothead earlier.  Would have served him right if the Hunter had managed to get him.”

Ryeowook hissed slowly, reluctant to comment on his brother’s statement – either part.  The former was currently one of the larger points of contention between him and Kyuhyun, though he wasn’t happy about his too-close-for-comfort showdown either.  He didn’t understand why the vampire had so little reservation about using other people so long as it helped the majority, especially himself, and Ryeowook really didn’t know how that was an even an option among friends.  Not only that, but he was still unaccountably irritated about Kyuhyun’s own blatant disregard for his life.  Never mind he said he knew the risks…  Stupid, senile vampire.

“Considering you’re just a baby, I don’t think you really have room to talk at all,” Himchan added softly from the back, making JR flinch at the unexpected rebuttal.

“Hey!  I’m nineteen, thank you!” he retorted, turning an angry expression on the vampire, which subsequently broke upon the implacable look he got in return.

“Baby,” Himchan reiterated simply, blinking at the human with a glance at Ryeowook.

“What does age have to do with him acting like a manipulative…” he struggled for some sort of title and ultimately failed, flustered and in the dark.

Himchan rolled his eyes and quirked his mouth to the side wryly.  “You try finding something that still holds your interest after seven hundred years.”

“You mean he’s bored?” Henry frowned in confusion, leaning away slightly when Himchan gave him a deadpan look in return.

“Not just bored,” the vampire huffed, obviously asking for patience in his head.  For a few steps, he tried to come up with some sort of comparison and when nothing came, his shoulders slumped, but the humans didn’t comment.  “Hah!” he exclaimed loud enough to make them jump, standing upright again when a thought occurred to him.

“What?” Henry and JR asked at the same time, leaning away from him nervously.

“If you’ve ever had a really old family member, how did they act?” Himchan inquired knowingly, letting his eyes slide between the trio in front of him.

“I guess that depends on which one you’re talking about,” JR grumbled as he shared a look with his brother.  Ryeowook nodded in mute agreement, sneaking a glance at Kyuhyun who immediately looked away and pretended that he wasn’t listening in on the conversation as best he could.

Himchan laughed in immediate understanding while even Henry seemed to agree with that sentiment.  “I’ll bet one of them was afraid of everything and the other or however many there were,” he started, refusing to get hung up on the niceties, “just didn’t care.”

Slowly, Ryeowook and JR nodded in reluctant agreement.  They could both agree that while both their grandfathers had fallen into the reserved category, their grandmother on their father’s side was all about living life to the fullest since she could die at any time, considering her age.  The thought made Ryeowook groan in simultaneous understanding and frustration.  That was his reason for being an inconsiderate idiot?

“Then again.  He is a Cho and there really is no telling what’s going on inside his head,” Himchan laughed with a falsely cheerful disposition, making Ryeowook suspicious immediately.  Sure enough, when he checked back over at Kyuhyun, the vampire was doing his best to look innocent.  Ugh…  Stupid vampire.

Silence fell for a few moments, punctuated by the sound of their shoes alternately crunching on the asphalt of the side of the road depending on how it curved.  It was conspicuously empty, and had been, since they’d started walking earlier that morning.  Ryeowook kept his thoughts to himself until Henry ventured another quiet observation.  “You like him, don’t you?”

“No!” came JR’s immediate denial, which wasn’t entirely surprising, even if he realized belatedly the question wasn’t intended for him.  “I don’t,” he added as Himchan shook his head at him while Henry just laughed in amusement.

Ryeowook frowned at the strange utterance, glancing at his friend out of the corner of his eyes.  With everything that had been going on, it was easy not to think about it, or acknowledge there might be a sliver of truth to it, but that didn’t make the question go away.  “I’ve already said I don’t dislike him,” he explained when the scrutiny remained on him long past when he felt it should have moved on.

“That is not an answer,” JR snorted as he crossed his arms over his chest.

Frustratingly, Henry reached out a hand to pat Ryeowook on the shoulder as if he agreed.  “Ugh.  This is not some deluded Stockholm Syndrome guys,” he grumbled, feeling a bit defensive.

“We know that, Wookie,” Henry chuckled under his breath, keeping his hand on Ryeowook’s upper arm.

“Which means you do like him!” Himchan exclaimed triumphantly, enjoying the revelation far too much.

“I hate you so much right now,” Ryeowook grumbled without looking back, keeping his gaze fixated on the path before him.

“Seriously?!” JR bemoaned in pained disappointment.  “You’re supposed to be the smart one in the family too…” he trailed off, still giving his brother confused looks.

“He was when I was in school with him,” Henry winked, nudging Ryeowook’s arm with his elbow playfully.

While trying to come up with an appropriate retort to either of them, he paused as he felt eyes on him yet again.  Glancing over, he confirmed that Kyuhyun was looking at him with a disturbingly satisfied expression and Ryeowook sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose between his fingertips.  “You guys are really not helping…”

“And you aren’t thinking clearly,” JR muttered beside him, earning a chuckle from Himchan while Henry tried to stifle his own amusement as well.

Ryeowook swung his head over to look at his brother with annoyed eyes, daring him to say something else.  When his younger sibling actually held his tongue, Ryeowook cringed again and hung his head.  He was so confused.

At least he didn’t seem to be the only one.  With Sunhwa running large, slow circles around their group as an outer perimeter scout, the rest of the functional members kept looking to each other for answers that no one could give.  Ryeowook wasn’t alone in not knowing where they were going and he was doubly surprised to see Junsu looking over at Kyuhyun a time or two, the obvious question on his face, despite the wolf’s appearance.  Even when they paused for a quick break, finding what food and water they could for everyone, with the wolves doing the brunt of the searching again, there wasn’t much in the way of conversation, though the air was thick with tension and concern.

As they got moving, and when JR and Henry weren’t talking, Ryeowook could hear the people in the back of the truck speaking among themselves in particular.  Jieun, Ren, Joon, and Ken huddled together, taking care not to place their feet on the array of equipment in the bed of the truck while they sat on the railing.  They weren’t being pulled terribly fast, since no one wanted to tire the wolves out too much, making riding that much easier, though to be fair, Joon was playing lookout, keeping his blind eye towards the group as he focused on the perimeter instead.  And really, Ken was rather keeping to himself, leaving the genuine humans to speak… or complain rather.

They were hot, hungry, worried, and just as in the dark as everybody else.  Ryeowook was only glad that he didn’t really get thirsty anymore, not the way he used to.  Nor was overheating an issue, fortunately for him.  A glance at Henry and JR showed they were red-faced, sweating, and more than a little tired.  Not too long ago, that would have been him too.  Yet again, aside from his photophobia – for good reason – there were more reasons to be appreciative of the change.  As he glanced around the mostly desert landscape, barren of people, cars, and civilization, Ryeowook couldn’t help but think he might have more reasons before too long…

With a little ingenuity, their whole group was actually able to continue on until nightfall, which was a welcome reprieve.  The vampires had to use the truck itself as a barrier and they were additionally required to shift the makeshift shields into more awkward positions, but it worked for the time being.  Evening was a blessing Ryeowook had never thought he’d be so grateful for and for a moment after they stopped, he could only stand where he was, eyes closed, reveling in the very lack of sunlight.

“That sensation never gets old,” a vaguely familiar voice interrupted him, bringing him from his nonexistent thoughts with a start.  Looking to his right, he blinked to notice one of the other vampires.  After a fraction of thought, he realized it was Jinki, one of the Shims in their group.  His brown eyes weren’t looking at Ryeowook, fixated on the horizon, but it was clear he was speaking to him.

“Oh?” the younger vampire murmured, not exactly sure how to respond.

Jinki flashed him an easy smile, white teeth bright against his face while his eyes nearly disappeared at the same time, further obscured by straight strands of light brown hair.  “There’s a sense of peace that comes with nightfall.  The belief you can do anything,” he chuckled with a shrug.  “I’ve heard some say we feel it keener than the rest but seeing your face just now, I’m not so sure.”

It took Ryeowook a second to realize Jinki was talking about the Shims in particular as opposed to vampires overall, and he could see why others would make that assumption.  Confused about why the relatively unknown vampire had approached him, Ryeowook glanced over his shoulder to make sense of their group settling in for the moment.  If nothing else, the wolves needed rest and it was a prime chance for everyone except the vampires to catch a cooler break.  They’d be huddling even closer before too long if the hint of the chill in the air was any indication.

“It’s hard enough at first,” he murmured as if he could hear some of Ryeowook’s thoughts.  “The change,” he added for clarification, though they both knew it wasn’t necessary.  “And you had the luck of catching Kyuhyun’s eye with all of this happening right after,” Jinki laughed sympathetically, cocking his head to the side as he blinked at Ryeowook.

At the mention of Kyuhyun’s name, Ryeowook immediately searched to find the vampire and was both relieved and annoyed to see him in conference with Junsu.  He was so used to the other coming to check on him almost immediately he wasn’t sure if he should be perturbed or relieved.  “Do you know, Kyu?” he asked instead, focusing his attention more on the new vampire.  His gaze continued to mark people nearby, taking note of his brother checking in with Baekho, Ken, and a recovering Daesung, while Henry assisted Luna in the interim, watching over Minsoo while her siblings stayed close at hand.

“Know him?  Not really,” Jinki shook his head with a shrug of his shoulders, loose shirt fluttering against his lean figure in the process.  “Know of him.  We all do,” he added, quirking his mouth to the side as he glanced towards the gathering group as well.

A twinge of nervousness coiled in Ryeowook’s belly and his brows dipped down to create a wrinkle in his forehead.  “What do you mean?”

                “Games.”

The abrupt answer caught him off guard.  “Games?”

Jinki chirped a positive answer and nodded along.  “He’s quite fond of them.  All kinds really.  It’s a source of amusement for him, I think.”  His eyes met Ryeowook’s, regarding him quietly, thoughtfully.

“I’m not sure I understand what you’re getting at,” Ryeowook murmured softly, feeling very uneasy and not at all on steady ground.

A snort of dry amusement startled him though it appeared Jinki had heard the newcomer approaching.  “You’ll have to forgive Jinki his well intentioned, if vague, warning,” Sungmin rolled his eyes as he came close, pausing just out of arm’s reach.

“Well someone needs to let him know what’s going on,” Jinki laughed with a slightly sad smile.  “He’s obviously lost and you know the Chas aren’t going to say anything against him.  They’re too close.”

Feeling even more befuddled, Ryeowook struggled for a response until Sungmin clapped him on the shoulder and gave him a level look that did more to steady his fears than all the words in the world.  “We’re naturally suspicious of everything.  It comes with being spies for our race,” Sungmin offered gently, regarding the newest vampire with deep, mocha eyes under a wavy trim of black bangs.  “And the Chos do play games.  Often.  Kyuhyun happens to be one of the best,” he conceded with a nod.

“Manipulating people is not a very good game,” Jinki frowned, obviously annoyed by that sticking point.

“We do it too,” Sungmin added with a raised brow as he looked at Jinki with bemusement, earning a flustered gesture from the other vampire.

“Why are you telling me this?” Ryeowook asked in a small voice as he looked between the two before settling on Sungmin.  Though they were pretty much of the same height, he made Ryeowook feel like a child before him and it was strange.  “And why should I believe you?”  He couldn’t help but feel a measure of distrust from their words, if only because he didn’t want to believe such a thing of Kyuhyun right now, which was far more telling about how he felt in regards to the other vampire than he was comfortable with.

“So you’ll know what you’re getting into,” Jinki answered simply before Sungmin could silence him with a perturbed frown.

“You have much to learn, youngling,” Sungmin snorted again, clearly amused by Jinki’s naivety.

“I’m over a hundred already, Sungmin.  I’m not a baby anymore,” the other vampire retorted automatically.  When Sungmin declined to comment, he crossed his arms over his chest and sulked, slightly, not entirely unlike the child his apparent elder was comparing him to.

When Sungmin turned his attention back to Ryeowook, he tensed up at the unreadable look in his visitor’s eyes.  “We have no reason to lie to you, but… his focus on you has not gone unnoticed,” he explained sincerely, allowing just a hint of his hidden worry to shine through.

“He turned me not that long ago,” Ryeowook reminded them needlessly, shying away from what he felt the other might be hinting at.  “Of course he’s-”

“It’s more than that and you know it,” Sungmin cut him off, stating plainly what he didn’t want to acknowledge.  “Whether you are a game piece to him or something more at this point, your welfare will affect him.  And that affects us all.”  Ryeowook shrank in on himself while the gravity of his words sank in.  “At least until we get to wherever he intends for us to go,” Sungmin rolled his shoulders in a fluid gesture, not entirely concerned with the matter in the meantime.

“Eh.  He’s talking it over with Junsu.  We’re not far from where he’s aiming,” Jinki added with a look back towards the camp, eyes narrowed in focused concentration.

Frankly, Ryeowook was astonished by how well the Shim could actually hear.  He knew they had heightened senses but he hadn’t realized they were that good.  His revelation didn’t do much to distract him from Sungmin’s unwavering gaze though and he ducked his head like a hesitant child.  “And what if I don’t feel the same way about him?” he asked, stomach roiling violently at the conversation topic they were discussing.

Sungmin’s answering smile was just shy of patronizing.  “Your focus on him hasn’t gone unnoticed either.”  Heat flooded Ryeowook’s cheeks and he frowned at the bald-faced observation but couldn’t exactly refute it.  “Come,” he urged, tightening his grip on Ryeowook’s shoulder to pull him back towards the direction of the camp.  “The Songs are still recovering and as a Cho, neither you nor Kyuhyun are expected to go very far, but the rest of us have a fair bit of work to do,” he chuckled, both annoyed and ersely delighted by that fact.

With his head just as in knots as his stomach, Ryeowook allowed Sungmin to guide him back into the heart of camp where two small, contained fires were going already.  Surprisingly, they were equally surrounded by humans – including the possessed and wolf-kin – as well as wolves.  He managed a shaky smile for JR when he caught his younger brother’s eye, waving off the perplexed look he got in return, before he was promptly shunted towards Junsu and Kyuhyun.  The duo were additionally accompanied by a restless wolf who also fell under the injured but still functional category.

“There you are, Ryeowook,” Junsu murmured, glancing the vampire up and down as Sungmin departed quickly, already calling for the Chas so they could head out together.

“Yeah,” he blurted in a higher than usual tone of voice, glancing at Kyuhyun out of the corner of his eye.  “I was just – um – talking,” he stumbled, feeling like an idiot as he volunteered the excuse to soothe his own conscience.

“I’m sure,” Kyuhyun murmured at his side, giving a side look that didn’t quite reach him.  Guilt and unease flared in Ryeowook and it was a struggle to keep his features even.

Junsu looked between them slowly and then rolled his eyes, focusing his attention instead on the wolves nearby.  “Listen.  We’re all exhausted or else I wouldn’t even be asking right now,” he explained, shifting back to the vampires.  “But he’s going to go stir crazy if he isn’t given a chance to do something,” he explained with a nod towards a fidgety Joon who scratched at the makeshift patch around his missing eye distractedly.

“Seriously, Junsu,” Joon grumbled with a downcast expression.  “I can just go get the water and be right back.  I don’t need babysitters to take care of that.”  Mutely, Junsu turned, took a step towards Joon and shifted around his blind side before he blatantly attacked him, throwing a swiping strike that would have connected – if he wanted it to.  Much too late, Joon reeled back with a startled, embarrassed growl before he subsided immediately, appropriately chastised.

“As you can see, he has a blind spot he hasn’t gotten used to,” Junsu explained as he turned around to regard the vampires, taking note of Kyuhyun’s bland expression, in direct odds to Ryeowook’s wide-eyed one.

“So I noticed,” Kyuhyun chuckled, reaching over to wrap his fingers around Ryeowook’s arm with false confidence.  The shorter male stiffened slightly in reaction but didn’t comment as his companion continued, “Just a water run then?”

“Yes.  He can carry the containers just fine but he needs more eyes than he has on his person, and everyone else is already busy or resting,” Junsu remarked dryly, sending another flat look towards his ‘adopted’ pack mate.

“We can do that,” Ryeowook finally spoke up, trying to regain a measure of control as he firmly pulled his arm free from Kyuhyun, wincing internally when he saw a flicker of reaction on the vampire’s face.

“Good,” Junsu nodded as he his lips.  His eyes narrowed slightly and Ryeowook saw Kyuhyun compose himself quickly, back to wearing the mask.  It was obvious the wolf wasn’t sure if he’d seen anything amiss or not, but after a brief pause, he went on, “I’m not sure how far it is.  We can smell it but it shouldn’t take too long.  No more than half an hour.  Got it?” he explained, pointing a finger specifically at Joon and then at Kyuhyun.

“Yes,” the sulking wolf mumbled under a messy cap of black hair, looking remarkably scruffy for one that was normally on the kempt side.

“Of course,” Kyuhyun waved dismissively, gesturing towards the perimeter with his hand deftly as if to invite Ryeowook to precede him.

“Let my brother know I’ll be right back,” Ryeowook paused long enough to shoot at Junsu who grunted an affirmative, though it was just as clear he’d already dismissed them from his mind while he turned towards matters of the camp and those still in it.

“Come on, wolf,” Kyuhyun called back towards Joon who seemed a bit reluctant to follow after them, eyeing the pair with one orb intently.

“The name’s Joon,” he muttered sulkily.

“I know,” Kyuhyun responded with a neutral expression.

Before Joon could get upset or retort, Ryeowook slapped the vampire in the arm and gave him a cross look.  “Stop being such a jerk,” he glared, yet again surprised by the flicker of hurt response that flashed across Kyuhyun’s face.  He turned a frustrated look on Joon though when the wolf chuckled at Kyuhyun’s misfortune as he reached down to retrieve the water storage canteens.  “You too,” he couldn’t help but add, feeling slightly out of place in berating the wolf, but it worked as well, and he immediately felt bad about the pouting young man.  Internally, he groaned and had to wonder if he was in the company of adults or overgrown children.  “Let’s go guys,” he sighed, more than ready for the excursion to be done with already.

Mutely, the trio headed out, letting Joon lead the way as the wolf followed his nose at the front while the vampires watched out from the back, scanning the mostly barren landscape with intent eyes.  “I take it you’re still mad at me,” Kyuhyun murmured when they were out of earshot of the camp.

“You could say that,” Ryeowook answered without hesitation, declining to look at his companion in the process.  That much was still true.  Stupid, inconsiderate vampire.

The silence that stretched between them was deafening and uncomfortable.  Clearly, Kyuhyun didn’t know how to start, if he wanted to say something, and Ryeowook didn’t know what to say.  Period.  He was startled to hear the vampire speak at last, “Do you hate me like your brother does?”

Of all the questions he could have envisioned, that was not one of them.  Even as he heard Kyuhyun ask it, he knew it wasn’t a genuine question, since he recalled very clearly the satisfaction on his face earlier when he was listening in, but that didn’t stop it from hitting him in the gut out of sheer surprise.  “Of course not,” he sighed immediately, though he still felt annoyed at the vampire.

“Then why are you mad at me?” he asked while drifting just a touch closer.

Ryeowook looked at Kyuhyun with a partially open mouth, not entirely understanding the question.  Mostly because the vampire already knew the answer.  Or so he thought.  “Because-”

“You already knew I was an , or jerk if you prefer,” he conceded with a wry twist of his mouth as he used Ryeowook’s preferred term of ‘endearment’, “shortly after you met me.”

“You are,” the shorter male muttered with a frown as nerves clenched in his gut, giving him the barest of warnings he probably wasn’t going to like where Kyuhyun was leading him.

“Which means you shouldn’t exactly care what happens to me,” Kyuhyun reminded him matter-of-factly, his expression giving nothing away.

Uncomfortable now, Ryeowook trudged along and fidgeted with his fingers, giving the vampire sidelong looks.  “I don’t dislike you,” he admitted again, taking a step away only to step right back again, rather like a magnet.  Out of the corner of his eye, he saw that insufferable smirk appear on his companion’s face, lips turned up in the familiar expression with an unmistakable hint of satisfaction inherent.

“That’s hardly a satisfactory answer,” Kyuhyun scoffed as he kept pace with Ryeowook, drifting that much closer so they were almost touching as they walked.

Ryeowook’s skin tingled with Kyuhyun’s proximity and his conversations from earlier in the day crowded noisily in his head, making it impossible to try and hedge around the subject.  His pace slowed down just a bit more and Kyuhyun matched him, though Ryeowook couldn’t meet his gaze.  “I don’t want you to get hurt, you know.”

Fingers caught his hand, stalling Ryeowook and forcing his body to turn so he faced Kyuhyun.  He dropped his gaze immediately but a thumb and forefinger gripped his chin, tilting his face up to peer into Kyuhyun’s, and refusing to let him look away.  Dark eyes that reflected the shimmery silver luminescence of the moon bore into his, mesmerizing him as they stopped entirely.  “Why?” Kyuhyun asked in the barest whisper, staring at Ryeowook with a desperate intensity he wasn’t prepared for.

“Kyu…” Ryeowook gasped, searching the other man’s face.  He didn’t know what he was looking for but there were only two thoughts in his head just then: why indeed and the other…  “Oh ,” Ryeowook breathed, realizing too late the trap he’d neatly fallen into with his eyes wide open.
