AmethystXiumin came early to their office to finish up his work. As the team leader, he has the hardest job among s. He reached the floor level and pressed the code, opening the door.
While doing his work on his computer, he suddenly got thirsty and went to the pantry to make a drink.
“Now, where is the coff- holy crap!” He jumped, startled, upon seeing a figure laying down on the couch. He wanted to call the security guard but when he saw how harmless the girl looked like, he decided to wake her up himself.
“E-Excuse me.” He tapped her shoulders lightly while trying to hold his nervousness in.
The girl seemed to move from her place and mumbled a few incoherent words. Xiumin stood frozen on his spot and watched her carefully. Finally waking up, she squinted her eyes and opened them slowly.
“Xiumin ?” she mumbled softly and Xiumin looked at her carefully.
“Mei Lin?!”
“Good morning,” she mumbled sleepily.
“What on monkey crap are you doing here?! Did you sleep here?! Are you out of your mind?” His endless questions didn’t seem to bother her the slightest.
“One question at a time, Xiumin ,” she said while trying to smoothen out the wrinkles in her clothes.
She combed her hair using her fingers and checked how she looked using the reflection on the window. Xiumin just watched her in confusion and slight anger.
“We had a fight and I slept out. That’s what happened.”
“Well, you could have booked a hotel or called me or Fan!” he half shouted at her and Mei Lin just made a face at him.
She yawned sleepily and made herself a cup of coffee.
“Do you want some? I assume you were about to make one since you’re holding an empty cup.”
Not even bothering to wait for his reply, she made another cup and handed him one.
“Have you gone mad?” he asked, annoyed by how she was acting so calm.
Finally deciding to let out what she really was feeling, she looked at him with tears starting to build up on her eyes.
“How I wish I’ve gone mad. It’s not easy, Xiumin. Everyone just hates me. They don’t want me and I get cheated on all the time. Every time I make someone important to me, they would just eventually leave or use me. It’s like that all the time. I’m getting tired of this.” Her voice suddenly turned softer from her loud and high-pitched start. “I’m a human too, Xiumin. I can’t pretend as if I’m strong all the time and that I can start anew with a blink of an eye.”
Guilt slowly crawled up on his skin and his angry gaze turned into one of pity. He could feel the emotions in her words and the look in her eyes weren’t lying. She was suffering enough and he didn’t want her to suffer more.
“Some people might be expecting a lot from you and there are people who just won’t understand you no matter how hard the situation is but always remember, some people still care. No matter how few of them are, they still care. I car
