Suho POV

Kai had fallen asleep again, and I softly patted his head as I held him close to me.

“It’s alright Kai” I had told him when he had started crying

There was still a lot of pain in his eyes, and it hurt to see him like this.

Kai didn’t deserve the burden of what Kris had done.

I flinched at the thought of that name.

-Why?...did he break his promise-

It hurt to realize that promises were meant to be broken now.

Kai whimpered in his sleep, and Suho wondered if it might be because of his wrists.

He slowly pulled the covers up on Kai because the room was getting a bit cold, and he closed his eyes in hopes of sleeping a bit himself.

However as he was about to fall asleep, he heard the door open.

“Mom?” It was Luhan

I opened my eyes and looked towards the open door.

“Yes?  Is something wrong?” I asked when I noticed that the boys seemed distressed

Lay walked into the room, and immediately Suho noticed blood on his hand.

“LAY!” He looked up surprised and worried at the same time

“I’m okay” was all Lay responded before turning to nudge Xiumin on the side

“Hey mom…we need to talk about something” the oldest boy said in a serious tone

“Also, please don’t hide anything from us” Tao added

Suho stared at them wondering why they were acting this way, and finally Chanyeol spoke

“We saw dad outside” he said meeting Suho’s gaze

I swallowed nervously, but tried to keep as calm as possible

“Oh…really?” I asked

“Yes…” Tao responded

“What happened?” Suho held onto Kai’s index finger without the boys noticing

“How long have you known about it?” Chen asked all the while avoiding looking up

“Known about what?” Suho pretended not to know what they were talking about

“You know what we’re talking about mom” Sehun said

They all looked at each other before Baekhyun asked “How long has he been cheating on you?”

-Oh my God-

The boys all stared waiting for an answer, but Suho just didn’t know what to say.

“Is that why…” Suho began as he suddenly realized why Lay had blood on his hand

“Lay punched him…” Luhan blurted out

I looked up at Lay, the boy who was usually the quietest brother, and knew that he was angry not only at Kris, but at me as well.

“I’m sorry Lay” I whispered

He looked up and me and nodded, but then looked away again

Several minutes passed by as I tried to explain what had happened. I couldn’t lie to them because they knew when I was lying. Afterwards the room became silent as the only sound was a few painful whimpers coming from the sleeping Kai.

“What are we going to do?” Chanyeol asked after a while

“I’ll take care of it, you boys just make sure to study hard for exams” I said still patting Kai’s head slowly as I tried to comfort him.

“Is he having a bad dream?” Sehun asked concerned

“Possibly…” I responded

“I can stay with him” Sehun said, and he made his way towards the bed.

Suho stood up, and let Sehun sit down next to Kai. He held the black haired boy close to him, and after a while Kai stopped whimpering.

“Are you going to divorce him?” D.O. asked suddenly, and everyone turned around to look at him

Suho stood there staring at the boys and then down at the floor.

“Yes…” he whispered

Kris Flashback

“It’s cold” Suho whispered looking up at Kris from where they both laid on the bed.

Kris pulled the blankets up for Suho, but the boy just shook his head.

“Still cold” he said with a playful smile

“Well what do you want me to do?” Kris asked confused

Suho laughed lightly

“No wonder you never had another relationship before me” he said

“Eh why?” Kris wondered

“Well you seriously have no idea how to be romantic”

“R-romantic?”

“Yes…you know the holding hands, cuddling, etc.”

“It’s not really my style” Kris replied awkwardly

“Oh so then what’s your style Mr. Wu?” Suho asked jokingly

“Hmm…” Kris pretended to think “Maybe it’s…this…” he said leaning down and giving Suho a kiss

Once Kris broke away from the kiss, Suho began laughing

“What? Why are you laughing?”

“You babo…” Suho smiled

“Why are you calling me a babo?” Kris asked hurt

“That’s actually romantic” he said

“Oh…”

“Yeah…’oh’ haha”

Kris wrapped his arms around Suho, and pulled the black haired boy closer to him.

“Are you still cold?” he asked

“Hmm not anymore” the boy answered

They both stayed like that for a while, cuddling and admiring their beautifully decorated room.

“I really like our room” Suho said after a while

“It’s nice”

“Well we should actually add a few more things…it looks a little empty” Suho looked around as if picturing an even better looking room

“It’s not that empty…” Kris replied

“We should decorate the whole house!” Suho exclaimed excitedly

“There you go again” Kris rolled his eyes jokingly as he knew that Suho would immediately begin re-decorating every single space of the house tomorrow.

“Don’t worry” Suho said smiling “As long as I’m here, the house will always look pretty…after all your style is a bit…eh…”

“My style is a bit what?” Kris asked trying to sound offended, but still laughing

Suho laughed as well “Just leave the decorating to me, and the house will never look empty” he said with a smile.

Kris POV (End of flashback)

The house looked completely empty, despite a few picture frames that were hanging on the wall.

Kris walked up to them, and saw the picture of the boys smiling widely after their first soccer game.

He hadn’t made it that day, because he had been too busy.

Suho had gotten a bit mad at him, but he had made it up by buying the kid’s presents. Then everything went back to normal.

He continued walking around the overly spacious living room, and he could hear the birds chirping outside. It had never been this quiet around the house, and it made him feel uncomfortable.

“You can keep the house” Suho had told him when they had met to discuss the terms of the divorce.

“I think it’s better if you and the kids stay in the house, I can just move out” Kris said looking up at Suho

“I already have a place to go, and either way I don’t want to stay in that house” Suho replied coldly

“Alright” was all Kris could say

They both avoided looking at each other, but then Kris asked

“What about the kids?”

Suho finally looked up, and after several weeks of avoiding eye contact, they looked at each other.

“Don’t you dare even think about coming near the boys” he hissed

“My client would like you to permanently resign your rights as a parental figure for the boys” Suho’s lawyer said

“What?” Kris whispered, and he felt a small pain in his chest

“You can’t force my client to agree” Kris’s lawyer contradicted

“I’ll do it” Kris choked out knowing that either way, he would never see the boys again.

After signing the divorce papers, and the resignation paper, Kris stood there silently as he saw Suho walk away for the last time.

Kris hadn’t heard from Suho or the kids since then. All he knew was that they all moved out to another house which Suho had bought. Kris always knew Suho didn’t depend on him at least financially because he had shares from his brother’s company.

Somebody he also hadn’t heard about was Narae. However, he had found out that after a while her parents had found out about everything she had been doing, and had forced her to personally apologize to Suho and the boys. Afterward, she had been sent away to God knows where, and Kris actually felt relieved at that.

After much thought, Kris decided to sell the house, and afterwards he decided to move away.

He didn’t know where exactly, but he knew that the farthest away the better.

After saying goodbye to Kai, who was the only one who still held contact with him, Kris decided to leave for good.

“You’ll stay in touch right?” Kai asked worriedly

“Yes of course I will” Kris replied smiling sadly

He had no idea why Kai out of all the boys had forgiven him. At first he wondered if it was because he had stayed there when he had his suicide attempt, however it didn’t really matter now because Kris knew that this was the end.

Or at least he thought.
