Secret - Moonlight Starlight

Sunlight streamed into Tae Hyun’s room through the window.

 

His room was overall fairly dark because of his thick curtains.

 

Usually, the sun would piss Tae Hyun off to no extent, but this particular morning, he didn’t mind at all.

 

Tae Hyun didn’t mind anything whatsoever.

 

He didn’t care about the pesky sunlight in his room.

 

He didn’t care about fact that it was past his daily schedule.

 

He didn’t care that it was time for breakfast.

 

He didn’t care.

 

Why? You ask.

 

Because, right at this moment, Tae Hyun felt as if he had the entire world within his grasp.

 

He looked down at his chest.

 

There lay the most beautiful creature he had ever laid eyes on.

 

She was snuggled in his embrace, underneath a mass of blankets, where no one could find them.

 

Her lips were slightly parted, softly breathing in and out.

 

Her hair was disheveled, but it was still cute.

 

Tae Hyun could gaze at her for all eternity and would never grow tired.

 

Is this what love feels like?

 

He held his breath when he heard a whimper.

 

Eun Mi clutched onto him further.

 

He broke out into a wide grin, embracing her even tighter.

 

She buried her face deep into his chest.

 

The sunlight was annoying her.

 

Muffled whimpers came from .

 

She hated the sun in the morning.

 

Light…

 

Tae Hyun heard her thought.

 

At that moment, he lifted one hand.

 

Then he motioned for the curtain to close, and it did.

 

Eun Mi was once again at peace.

 

That was, until, Joon Hwe came barging in.

“OH HYUNGGGG. WAKEY WAKEY.  IT’S TIME TO EATTTT” Joon Hwe screamed, bursting through the door.

 

“He doesn’t need to wake up.  He never sleeps.  In fact, none of us sleep because we’re vampires you idiot” B.i told Joon Hwe before bonking him on the head with his fist.

 

“OUCH!  That hurt!” Joon Hwe rubbed the top of his head.

 

Tae Hyun growled at the two.

 

Before he could say anything else, the rest of his brothers began to pile into his room.

 

Eun Mi began to whimper again, clutching her ears at the new found noise level.

 

Tae Hyun whispered soft ‘shh’s into her ear to try to make her sleep again.

 

“Where’s the girl?” Bobby asked, looking around the room.

 

“Yeah, I didn’t see her in any of the other rooms either” Seung Hoon said.

 

“Same” Seung Yoon replied.

 

“You ert!  You only checked the bathrooms to see if she was showering!” Jin Woo replied, hitting the younger on the shoulder.

 

Seung Yoon chuckled.

 

“Well, my discovery wasn’t that great either.”

 

“Not like your package is any better than mine” Jin Woo shot back with slightly pink cheeks.

 

“Hmmhmgmhm” whimpered Eun Mi.

 

She immediately pulled the blankets over her head, entrapping herself in a silky crypt.

 

“Shhhh, it’s okay,” Tae Hyun whispered to her.

 

“What’s going on?” Mino whispered to the others, eyes still on the blanket bulge on the bed.

 

“I’m not so sure either…” Seung Hoon replied.

 

“Hey guys!” Yoon Hyeong ran into the room, joining his brothers.

 

Eun Mi began to whine.

 

She covered her ears and rolled into a ball.

 

Whatever peace of mind she had at the moment was completely shattered.

 

Tae Hyun’s eyes flashed purple.

 

Now you’ve done it you piece of .

 

He sat up from his bed and glared at his brothers.

 

His purple eyes blazed.

 

Yoon Hyeong and his brothers gulped.

 

Jin Hwan.  Get these heads out of here.  Eun Mi’s trying to sleep.

 

Jin Hwan nodded and ushered his brothers out of the room.

 

“Wait!  Why are we leaving??” Bobby exclaimed.

 

Another whimper came from underneath the blankets.

 

Tae Hyun growled back at him.

 

Mino put his hands up in defense.

 

“Alright alright, we’re leaving”

 

“Geez, talk about bipolar man” Seung Yoon said.

 

Tae Hyun raised a hand and flicked his wrist.

 

“Ow!” Seung Yoon held the back of his head, rubbing the injury.

 

Tae Hyun smirked.

 

After his brothers left, he quickly motioned his hand to shut the door.

 

Eun Mi crawled out from under the blankets and slightly opened her eyes.

 

It was completely dark, but she could still make out the figure next to her.

 

“Hmmgh” Eun Mi looked around the room and then dropped her face back down into the pillow.

 

Tae Hyun chuckled to himself.

 

He used his fingers to comb through her hazel brown hair.

 

“It’s time to eat” he softly whispered into her ear.

 

Eun Mi groaned but sat up.

 

Her hair was slightly flattened thanks to Tae Hyun, but she was still in a sleepy state.

 

She squinted her eyes at him.

 

He squinted back, mimicking her.

 

She rubbed her eyes and sighed.

 

“Come on, let’s get you washed up,” Tae Hyun tugged on her arm.

 

Begrudgingly, Eun Mi followed him.

 

This is going to be a looong day.  Eun Mi thought to herself.

 

Tae Hyun smiled at her thought.

 

Not with the Yang family around.

The entire Yang family was gathered around, waiting for their brother to arrive with the *L’une.

 

Yang abeoji sat at the head of the table.

 

To his right were his many wives.

 

And to his left were his children: Big Bang, 2ne1, Lee Hi (Rose), Royals, and Akdong Musician.

 

His eldest children, Gummy and Se7en, were in Paris, with the Council of Elders, discussing future marriage plans to continue the Yang bloodline.

 

Epik High and Jinusean, Yang abeoji’s brothers, were in Paris, guiding their nephew and niece, making sure their part would go accordingly.

 

The children were chattering amongst themselves quite loudly.

 

Their mothers were chattering amongst themselves.

 

All except for one, Park Ji Ho’s mother.

“Quiet!” Yang abeoji barked.

 

Everyone shut up.

 

The maids and butlers bowed their heads.

 

“She’s here.” Their father’s eyes flashed silver.

 

They all turned their heads towards the staircase.

 

Tae Hyun was escorting Eun Mi down, in their matching T-shirts.

 

He was wearing a gray and white baseball tee, while Eun Mi was watching his old faded red baseball tee that was now too small for him.

 

 

(A/N:  Yes, I know, that's not the real Tae Hyun.  But he looks similar, so that's a plus!)

 

“Oooh!  Damn!  You sly fox!” Mino howled.

 

“Song Mino!  Language!” his mother scolded.

 

His brothers and sisters began to drop comments everywhere.

 

“Damn. You a lucky man mah brotha” said Tae Yang.

 

“Tae Hyun what is she wearing?  Is that your shirt?” Bom stared at Eun Mi.

 

“Yeah!  My little brother’s a man now!” CL whooped.

 

“Eyyy~  Get some, Tae Hyun!” Dae Sung shouted.

 

“Screw that!  Imma get some” Seungri smirked at Eun Mi.

 

Their mothers sighed and facepalmed, thinking how on earth their children turned out this way.

 

Yang abeoji let out a hearty chuckle.

 

Everyone in the room stared at him with gaping mouths.

 

“Please, sit” he gestured to a chair, ignoring the stares.

 

Eun Mi nodded slightly and slipped into the seat nearest to her.

 

Tae Hyun sat next to her, abandoning his brothers for the time being.

 

The maids and butlers then began to serve breakfast.

After breakfast, the family conversed.

 

Eun Mi sat there quietly, watching them interact.

 

This...is nice….

 

She looked around the room, examining every detail.

 

“So, what’s your name?” Ji Yong asked, folding his hands in front of him.

 

Eun Mi immediately snapped her head back to face the older and pointed to herself.

 

“M-me?” she stuttered.

 

“WOAH SHE SPOKE!” Joon Hwe shouted.

 

Ji Yong chuckled.

 

“Yes you”

 

“I-I don’t know..” she replied.

 

Ji Yong’s smile dropped a little.

 

He looked to Yang abeoji.

 

“My dear,” Yang abeoji began, “how about we talk a little in my study?  I’m sure you’re very curious about some things, no?”

 

Eun Mi nodded and bit her lip.

 

The Royals grew worried, especially Tae Hyun.

“Please, sit” Yang abeoji motioned towards the white couch across from him.

 

Eun Mi obediently sat down.

 

“Now, I know that this is a very confusing time for you.  So first off, is there something you would like to know?”

 

“W-where am I?  W-what is this place?  Who am I?” she blurted out.

 

Yang abeoji laughed.

 

“My dear, you are in Seoul.  And this place is my home.” He answered.

 

“Then… what am I doing here?  Who am I?” she asked again.

 

“You, my little one,” he sighed, “are here, because we saved you.  For you, you are the *L’une.”

 

“*L-L’une?”

 

“Yes” he closed his eyes and nodded.

 

“W-what’s t-t-that?” she stuttered.

 

His opened his eyes, revealing his ‘Silver Truths,’ as other vampires called them.  “You are the One”

 

Eun Mi gasped, leaning back into the seat cushion.

 

“Please, don’t be alarmed,” his eyes returned back to normal.

 

Eun Mi gulped.

 

“You see, 200 years ago, the vampire race was extremely populated,” he began to reimagine, “but then, one day, vampire girls began to die off, one by one. Their heads separated from their bodies, others with stakes driven through their hearts.”

 

“What does that have to do with me?” she whispered back.

 

“One winter, about a 1,000  years ago, a baby girl was born.  Pale white skin, as beautiful as the moon.  With a golden marking as beautiful as the sun itself.

 It was prophesied that on the day of the white snow, a girl would be born, and should she have the golden marking, she would save the vampire race.  That day came and her name was Min Eun Sung.  Back in those days, vampire girls were close to extinction as they are now.  And so she fell in love with a group of young vampire men.  The Nobles, of the Lee Clan.  But they quickly gave in to greed and lust, killing her.  By that time, the vampire race was once again blooming.  The need for the *L’une was gone ,” he explained.

 

“Then, one winter, exactly 19 years ago, a beautiful baby girl was also born, but this time, she had two golden markings.  Her parents went to a fortune teller to seek the future of their daughter.  It was the same result.  Devastated by the horrible future they saw, the only way they could protect her was by giving up their lives”

 

Eun Mi’s eyes began to tear up.

 

“Her name was Lee Eun Mi.  And she was only 3 three months old when her parents died, leaving her at an orphanage.”

 

Tears slipped down her porcelain cheeks.

 

“That girl… is you”

 

Eun Mi began to cry into her hands.

 

“I-i’m so-sorry,” she apologized.

 

“Why are you apologizing my dear?  It was not your fault,” he wiped her tears away.

 

“But why did my parents have to die?” she sniffled.

 

“So that you could lead a human life.  The vampire world is too complicated.  They didn’t want you to live a life for others, only to die right after.  And so they died, for it takes two vampires, to make one vampire into a human.”

 

“So, so, so I’m a vampire?”

 

Yang abeoji nodded.

 

“But as of now, you’re still human.  The only way you could reverse it, is if you become another vampire’s mate.”

 

“How do you do that?”

 

He raised an eyebrow at the girl.

 

“D-don’t tell me-e, that I have to do it.”

 

He chuckled.  “That is what mates do”

 

Eun Mi scrunched up her nose.

 

“But,” he said, “that’s not all”

 

Her jaw dropped.

 

“T-there’s more??”

 

“Yes, but that’s another lesson for another day,” Yang abeoji stated.

 

“Then, how did I end up here?” she asked him.

 

Yang abeoji then began the tale of her life, but in death, she found freedom.

Eun Mi sunk back into the couch, letting all the information process.

 

“If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.” Yang abeoji told her.

 

She nodded mindlessly.

 

“And...if you wish to leave, you may do so...we will not keep you here against your will,” Yang abeoji said.

 

Eun Mi cracked a small smile at him.

 

“You saved me.  You saved my life.  I’m extremely grateful for everything you’re doing for me…” she said.

 

“But?” he continued.

 

“But… I think I’ll sleep on it tonight,” she finished.

 

“Sleep on it?  What kind of phrases do you humans come up with?” He sighed, rubbing his temples.

 

“It means, I’ll think about it” laughed Eun Mi.

 

“Oh yes, by the way, Eun Mi-”

 

Eun Mi cut him off.

 

“Please, don’t call me by that name anymore.”

 

Yang abeoji blinked at her.

 

“Then what would you like to be called?” he gently asked.

 

Eun Mi smiled.

 

“I have an idea” she replied.

 

---

 

Tae Hyun was downstairs in the living room with his brothers, pacing back and forth.

 

What could they be talking about?

 

“Calm down Tae Hyun.  You keep flash pacing back and forth.  You’re making me sick,” Dong Hyuk told him.

 

Tae Hyun kept flash pacing back and forth; his body a complete blur.

 

“Damn it!  I hate it when he uses that force field!” Tae Hyun said, plopping himself onto the couch next to his mother.

 

His mother patted his shoulder.

 

“You know your father means the best for everyone.  Plus, he knows that a certain couple boys would listen in”

 

She glared at the group of boys in front of her.

 

The other mothers laughed.

 

“Not to mention that four of you can read minds” Chan Hyuk replied, trying to solve a Rubix Cube.

 

“Not our faults” laughed Tae Yang.

 

“We don’t choose our powers.  You’re just a little pooper because we got telekinesis and telepathy, while you got stuck with earth powers” Minzy coolly

replied.

 

Jin Hwan laughed.

 

Tae Hyun rolled his eyes at his siblings’ immaturity.

 

Time passed and it was already dinner time but Yang abeoji and Eun Mi had not finished yet.

 

Tae Hyun impatiently fiddled with his fingers.

 

Then the head butler, Shin, announced the will of Yang abeoji: Yang Family Meeting.

“I call this meeting to order at 7:43 PM on December 22, 2012.” Yang abeoji announced.

 

Eun Mi was seated right next to him, before Big Bang.

 

Everyone was surprised.

 

“What’s this all about yeobo?” asked one of his wives.

 

“Today, we will be celebrating the rebirth of *L’une” he smiled.

 

They all gasped.

 

Eun Mi looked down at her hands.

 

“As of today, we shall decide a new name; a name that will replace Lee Eun Mi.  For in life she had suffered, but through death she has found freedom.”

 

Yang abeoji stood up, gesturing for Eun Mi to stand with him.

 

“Le Nouveau Élu L’une, The New Elected One, shall now be called, Min Seo Young,” he announced.

 

Everyone gaped.

 

One by one, they each stood up, clapping.

 

Tae Hyun let out a sigh of relief.

 

Seo Young smiled at them.

 

With shining confidence, she introduced herself.

 

“Je suis le nouveau élu l’une.  Mon nom est Seo Young,” (I am the newly elected one.  My name is Seo Young.)  she introduced herself in shaky French.

 

CL smiled at her cute French.

 

I think I’m gonna like this girl.

 

She continued to clap.

 

“Bienvenue!” (Welcome!) CL hooted.

 

Seo Young smiled and met eyes with Tae Hyun.

 

Tae Hyun smiled back.

 

She blushed and looked away.

 

Mon seul et unique lune.  (My one and only moon)  Tae Hyun thought, grinning.

 

Tae Yang, Minzy and Jin Hwan heard his voice.

 

They gave a knowing smile to each other, thinking the same thoughts.

 

It’s her.
