Chapter 1

Kidnap Me Hyung

Four months had passed since he had met the mysterious Onew, and not a day had gone by that he didn't think of him. It seemed quite silly in retrospect, he had only had a minute conversation with the man after all. Yet there was something about him, something Taemin couldn't begin to explain, that drew Taemin to him.

A lot of things were uncertain in Taemin's life, but one thing was for sure.

He had to find Onew.

----------

"Alright everyone, that's it for today. Rest up well this weekend, and be ready to work hard come Monday."

A chorus of goodbyes were heard throughout the room as the dance students walked towards the cubby in the corner of the room to grab their stuff. Taemin sighed and walked over slowly, waiting for the crowd to disperse before grabbing his own.

An arm slung across his shoulders, damp with sweat from the recent exercise.

"Hey hyung.” Jongin, Taemin’s best friend and roommate, smiled tiredly at him. “That sure was a work out, wasn’t it?”

“Ne, but its all worth it in the end. The showcase is only a couple weeks away after all.”

“True. I think we’re ready though, don’t you?”

“Well, there’s still a couple parts I’m not too sure about-”

“Ya, you’re always unsure, even when you do everything perfect.”

“But-”

Hyoyeon, one of the more accomplished students in their dance class (having danced back up for well-known kpop groups multiple times), ran up to them.

“Taemin-ah, Jongin-ah, a few of us are going out to eat tonight. Do you want to join?”

The two looked at her in surprise. Being two of the youngest in the class- excluding Minzy- they were rarely invited to hang out with their older classmates.

“Ah, sure noona, we’d love to.” Jongin said, having recovered first. Taemin nodded in agreement.

“Great. I’ll text you the details. See you later.” Hyoyeon ran off, probably to find Minzy so they could go home.

Jongin turned to Taemin and high fived him.

“Yes! Hyoyeon invited me out to eat!”

“You mean us?”

“Ah, yeah.” Jongin laughed awkwardly. “Us. Right. Sorry.”

Taemin laughed and pushed Jongin’s shoulder lightly. “It’s okay.” It was common knowledge that Jongin had a thing for Hyoyeon, and Taemin was happy his dongsaeng had finally found someone decent.

“Come on, let’s go home so you can get ready for your date.”

“Hyung!” Taemin laughed at the now- blushing Jongin and pulled him out the door.

------

“Ya, Taemin, are you coming?” Jongin leaned against the doorway to the small practice room in the basement of their apartment,  all dressed up for a night out.

“You go on ahead, I have to finish some things, I’ll be there in a little while.” Taemin, on the other hand, had yet to change from his dance clothes, as he was still dancing. Music blared through the room, masking Taemin’s heavy breathing.

“Come on hyung, can’t you take a break? You’re going to die from overwork soon.”

“I’m fine Jongin.” Jongin walked over and stopped the music.

“No, you can practice later. Let’s go out and have fun.”

“Fine. I’ll go get ready, but still, you can go on ahead, don’t be late because of me.”

“If you insist hyung...” Jongin said, but he was already inching his way towards the door.

“I do.” In an instant, Jongin was gone, leaving a laughing Taemin behind. Taemin quickly gathered his things and headed upstairs.

After a quick shower, Taemin pulled on his signature skinny jeans and a plain black tee that hung loosely on his small frame. A leather jacket completed the outfit, and after a quick ruffling of his hair, he deemed himself worthy and headed out.

A short wait at the bus stop and Taemin was on his way. Zoning out, he recited the dance routine in his head, humming the music quietly.

It wasn’t until the person beside him got up that he remembered he should be paying attention to know when he was supposed to get off.

Looking around, he realized the bus was almost empty, and, upon further inspection, realized he was no longer in downtown Seoul. He hurriedly got off and headed to look at the map. He let out a breath of relief when he realized he was only two stops too far, and began walking back the way he came.

However, after an hour of walking around, Taemin came to the conclusion that he was, indeed, lost. It seemed strange, as he’d lived in Seoul for a little over two years now, and thought he knew the city pretty well, but it was true. Somehow, in the two between the bus stop he got off at, and the one he should have gotten off at, he’d taken a wrong turn and ended up somewhere completely unfamiliar.

Of course, he really shouldn’t be too surprised, he was always losing things; it was only a matter of time before he got himself lost.

A few drops of rain fell on his head, and a quick glance up told him that the once sunny sky had turned dark with rain clouds. Taemin was confused, he didn’t remember the weather forecast calling for rain...

In an instant, the skies opened up, becoming a wall of water in front of Taemin, coming down so hard he could barely see. The streetlights were next to useless for the boy, who was quickly becoming soaked by the sudden rainfall.

Taemin desperately searched for the nearest open store, cursing in dismay at the lack thereof. It wasn't that late, only 8 or so he assumed, yet not a single shop seemed to be open. Were there even shops to begin with? Taemin wasn't so sure anymore.

Now that he thought about it... Where was he anyways? None of the signs- those he could actually make out through the rain anyways- were familiar at all.

'Ah, my phone'  he thought, plunging his hand into his pocket to dig out his phone. After several attempts at turning it on, He was stuck staring at a black screen, forced to realize that his phone was dead, and that any chance for help had just disappeared.

Taemin shivered and drew deeper into his jacket, wishing for a thicker coat, or even better, an umbrella. It was just like him to get lost during a rainstorm, with no idea how to get back. Left with no other options, he started forward, with the small hope that something would appear eventually.

After what felt like hours, but what must have been only a few minutes, Taemin spotted a light ahead. Nearly crying in relief, Taemin quickened his pace, moving as quickly as his shivering legs would carry him.

Taemin stumbled into the shop, and was instantly greeted by warmth and the delicious smell of fresh coffee. Soaked to the bone and breathing heavily from his recent sprint, he knew he must be attracting attention, but at that moment he couldn't care less. All that mattered was that it was warm, and that he was out of the rain.

"Excuse me. Are you okay?" A strangely familiar voice asked, and Taemin's head shot up in shock.

"Onew?"

"Taemin?!"
