(Luhan POV)

          I was walking to school again the next day, because I had woken up early again. Also, I was hoping a little to see a certain girl who I met two days ago near a lake. As I was walking while recalling the memories of the previous night at the beach, I couldn’t help but smile to myself like an idiot. I didn’t even know why I was so looking forward to seeing her again. I was kind of hoping that another coincidence would pop up and we would bump into each other again.

          I was so lucky.

          Yoona was sitting beside the lake again that day, feeding the ducks and saying words of encouragement at them. I automatically broke into a wide smile as I walked closer to where she was.

          “Sorry that I couldn’t bring more food today.” She was saying quietly while the ducks didn’t give a damn and just swam around, eating the crumbs that were scattered around on the water. “You must all be hungry, poor things.”

          “Yeah, they all are very hungry.” I said and Yoona’s head immediately turned around, her face showing shock. “And they say they won’t forgive you.” I smirked at her.

          Yoona let out a sigh of relief, knowing that it was me. Then she stood up, pulling slightly onto her school shirt and stuck out her tongue at me. “They won’t ever be angry with me.” She said proudly. “After all, I’m probably the only one who feeds them every day.” She said and turned to go.

          “Hey, wait.” I said suddenly, catching up with her. “Are you mad?”

          “Why would I be mad?” She asked, looking ahead.

          “I don’t know.” I said. “Hey, why don’t we walk together?” I asked her, smiling. She looked at me curiously. “Why should we?”

          I frowned a little. “Aren’t we friends?”

          “Since when?” She tilted her head in a thinking way. “Did we say we’re friends?”

          “Uh… No, we didn’t…” I said. “But we have talked a lot haven’t we? You even helped me with my school work. Doesn’t that mean we’re now friends?” I didn’t know that Yoona still thought of us as strangers. She pursed her lips into a thin line, still thinking. ‘Why does she need so much time to decide on being friends or not?’  I thought, frustrated.

          “Well,” She finally spoke. “I guess it’s okay for me to be friends with you.” She looked at me with a smile. I gave her an unbelievable look. “And I thought we were already friends.” I muttered. “Okay then.” I smiled anyway. ‘At least we’re friends now.’

(Author POV)

          Luhan and Yoona had been walking quietly together for a few minutes and Luhan decided to break the silence. “Um, is your place far from here?” He asked.

          “Yeah, it’s a little far from here.” Yoona nodded. “I come by bus to the lake everyday and walk from there to school.” She said. Luhan nodded understandingly. “That’s cool.” He said, smiling. Then again silence fell in between the two. Luhan was the one who decided to talk again.

         “Hey, thanks for helping yesterday, by the way.” He said, smiling. Yoona smiled back at him. “You’ve already thanked me, you know.” She said, chuckling. Luhan chuckled back. “Yeah, but I still want to thank you. Thanks again.”

          “If you’re thanking me that much, I’ll just have to stop accepting them.” She grinned.

          “Okay, okay. I’ll stop. Thanks anyway.” Luhan was happy.

          “Sheesh, stop with thanking already!” Luhan laughed when the girl made a face.

          At a certain point of the road, Yoona stopped. “I have to go that way from here.” She pointed to her left and said. “Oh.” Luhan said, a bit of dissatisfaction visible on his face. He wanted to talk with her a little more and get to know her more. But he smiled anyway.

          “See you around.” Yoona eye-smiled and was about to leave when Luhan stopped her. “Hey Yoona.”

          Yoona turned. Luhan looked at the ground hesitantly. “Uh… Would you mind if I dropped by your shop today after school?” He asked and Yoona stared at Luhan for a while. Then she started laughing. “Do you even have to take my permission for that?” She said playfully. “Of course I won’t mind. Drop by anytime you want.” She said before turning to go. She waved at Luhan and Luhan waved back at her. He ruffled his hair victoriously and was about to go on his way when he heard a familiar chuckle from behind him. Luhan turned around.

          “Hey hey hey Luhan!” Chanyeol said, jumping at Luhan and wrapping an arm around the latter’s shoulder playfully. Luhan stepped back, wanting to choke because of the taller’s tight grip. “What?” He asked difficultly.

          “Don’t ‘what’ us, who’s that girl?” Chanyeol grinned at Luhan. “She’s my friend.” He said randomly. Baekhyun approached him, his face full of suspicion and confusion. “If I’m not mistaken, that’s the waiter girl in Im’s food World.” He said, staring at Luhan. “You made friends with her already?”

          Luhan shook his head. “No, she’s the girl who I told you guys about before. It just turned out that she works in the shop too.” He explained and Baekhyun sighed. “And I thought that I could get closer to her.” He murmured.

          “Why can’t you?” Luhan asked with a small frown and Baekhyun made a face at him. “Because you guys are already this close.” He said and immediately broke into a  laugh when he saw Luhan’s unbelievable and puzzled face. “Man, I’m just kidding.” He exclaimed, wrapping his arm around Luhan’s shoulder too. “Hey Lu, why don’t you take us to her shop someday?” He asked, smiling. “Why?” Luhan asked.

          “You should introduce us to your future girlfriend, right?” Chanyeol said as both he and Baekhyun started laughing. Luhan sighed. “Guys, she’s not my girlfriend.”

         “Soon-to-be.” Baekhyun smirked. “I told you, right? Little things lead to big things.”

        “Good luck man, you both will make it.” Chanyeol grinned and Luhan rolled his eyes. “I can never understand you both.” He muttered. “You don’t have to!” Baekhyun said. “Let’s go now, we might be late.”

          “Okay class, take out your English article please.” Mr. Kang said to everyone. All of the students, including Luhan, Baekhyun and Chanyeol took theirs out.

         “Woah, Luhan!” Baekhyun’s mouth dropped open when he saw Luhan’s papers. He immediately grabbed it from him. “Where did you get these awesome pictures?” He asked, surprised.

          “I took them myself.” Luhan said, smiling as he remembered that night when he saw Yoona at the beach. “Wow, you’re amazing, dude!” Baekhyun said. “I’m jealous of you!”

          “Thanks.” Luhan said.

          “And how did you know all these facts about stars?” Baekhyun asked, taking a quick look at Luhan’s work. The latter shrugged. “I collected them?” He decided not to tell Baekhyun that he got lots of information from Yoona, because he knew what was to come if he did.

          “I searched the whole library and internet, but all I got was crap.” Luhan laughed when Baekhyun hung his head. “You’re just saying that.” He said, patting Baekhyun’s shoulder.

          Luhan was first one to leave the class when the session ending bell rang. He quickly said good bye to BaekYeol and hurried home. He was smiling. He was going to see Yoona again.

          Luhan opened the door of the shop, smiling brighter than the sun. “Annyeonghaseyo.” He greeted.

          “Welcome to Im’s food World.” Luhan looked at the tall boy who bowed to him. They both blinked. Luhan smiled at him. “Hi, Sehun.” He said as Sehun raised his eyebrows in surprise. “How do you know my name?” He asked, following Luhan to his table.

          “Yoona told me.” He said.

          “She told me everything about me already?” Sehun frowned and Luhan shook his head. “No, she just told me your name.” He said. “Where’s Yoona by the way?” He looked around the shop. There were just a couple of customers excluding Luhan.

          “She forgot her backpack today and now she’s gone home to get it. Lucky that I had the key today, or else I won’t be able to open the shop yet.” Sehun said with a little sigh.

          Luhan nodded. “Now that I think about it, she forgets stuff easily, doesn’t she?” He asked. “She forgot my order, twice.” Sehun nodded in response. “Yeah. I don’t know if I should tell you the reason.” He paused. Luhan shrugged. “If you don’t want to, then it’s okay.”

          “So I guess you’re here to see her again today, right?” Sehun asked. Luhan smiled. “Yeah, we met on the way to school today and she told me that it’s okay to come. We’re friends now.” He said. “And I like the food too. They’re good.” Sehun raised his eyebrows. “I see.” He said. “What’s your order?”

          “Coffee and sandwich.” Luhan said. “I hope you don’t forget.” He chuckled. “Of course I won’t.” Sehun said with a snap of his finger.

          “By the way Sehun, how old are you?” Luhan asked when Sehun was about to go to the counter. Sehun turned around to look at him. “How old do I look?” He asked back. Luhan shrugged. “I don’t know. I’m just asking though.”

          “I’m eighteen.” Sehun said and Luhan’s mouth formed an ‘o’ shape. “You’re older than me?”

          “Yeah. Do I look young?” He asked and Luhan shook his head. “You do look eighteen.” He said as Sehun gave a small smile and went on his way.

          It had been a few minutes after he had given his order to Sehun, and he heard the door open and the sound of panting. Luhan looked behind and saw an exhausted Yoona with her backpack. “Sehun, I’m back.” She said as she walked in tiredly, and stopped when she saw Luhan.

          “Hey, Yoona.”

          “Hey, Luhyun.” Yoona smiled. Luhan frowned. “What?”

          “What?” Yoona asked me back.

          “What did you call me?”

          “By your name.”

          “It’s not Luhyun, damnit, it’s Luhan.” Luhan rolled his eyes. Yoona’s mouth formed a circle as she remembered. “Oh. Sorry I forgot.” She said. “Luhan.”

          ‘She’s such a dumbo.’

          Luhan reached out to his pocket and pulled out a handkerchief. “Here.” He held it out in front of her. “Now don’t ask me what this is.” He joked with a smile. Yoona looked at it. “I don’t want it now. I have another one.” She said.

          “Then what am I supposed to do with it?” Luhan asked. “Keep it with you.” Yoona smiled back. “You might need it when you catch a cold or something.” Luhan couldn’t help but chuckle at her response.

          Sehun brought Luhan’s food and he ate it, enjoying the taste. The food in this shop sure was good. Luhan wasn’t sure whether Yoona or Sehun was the one who made them, but he was sure that it was amazing cookery.

          “Thanks for the meal.” Luhan was at the counter to pay. Yoona smiled. “You’re welcome.” She said patiently, maybe because there were people at the counter. “Please come again.”

          “You sure you want me to?” Luhan asked teasingly and Yoona sent a secret glare at him, signalling him to shut up. “Yes please, we will be very glad.” She said, eye-smiling, a little threateningly though. The others were looking at them. Luhan swallowed his urge to laugh and bowed. “Okay then, I’ll be here again tomorrow.” He said. “Oh, by the way, tonight there’ll be a lot of stars. Make sure you go see them, miss.” Before Luhan went out of the shop, he waved to Sehun. “Bye, Sehun hyung.” He saw Sehun laugh a little and Yoona stare at him. “See you tomorrow.”

          Just when Luhan entered his house and was about to relax, the door bell rang. Luhan wondered who it was. When he opened the door, there was a man with a small envelope. When the man saw Luhan, he handed it to him.

     “This is?” Luhan asked, glancing at it. “From the post office, sir. You are Lu Han aren’t you?”  The man asked and he nodded. “Then that is for you, sir.” He smiled.

     “Thanks.” Luhan said, smiling back at him and he bowed. “I’ll take my leave then.”

     Luhan closed the door and walked inside the house, looking around the envelope. It said: “To Lu Han” and Luhan’s address and nothing else. He opened it with curiosity and took out the letter inside.

          ‘Dear son,

          Do you remember dad, Luhan? Yes it is me. Your dad who loves you a lot. Are you doing well, my handsome son? I hope you are doing great at school and enjoying life. I miss you so much, and feel so desperate to see your grown up face. It has been years since dad had to leave you, right? I know that you don’t feel about me the same way as I do, but that’s fine. I hope that dad gets to meet you someday, Luhan. I love you, son. Work hard and grow up as a fine man.

          Luhan’s teeth gritted as anger boiled up inside him all of a sudden. His eyebrows knitted furiously as he clenched his fist with rage, crushing the letter into a ball. Luhan was now shaking in fury.

(Luhan POV)

         After all those years that he had spent after throwing my mom and I away, he finally got the nerve to write a letter to me. After everything he had done to his wife and his son, he got the nerve to shamelessly say that he loved me and he wanted to see me. I hated him. I didn’t care whether he said that he loved me, I hated him. I didn’t need to be shown his fake love. I didn’t need to be told to work hard and grow up as a fine man, not by him. Even if he was feeling guilty for what he had done, there was no way he could mend his mistake. I would never forgive him.

          Because of him, mom and I had to face immense pain. Because of him, mom died.

          I would never ever forgive him.
