CHAPTER IV

MIA’S POV

It was now after school and I was about to head home when a pair of hands grabbed mine interlacing it with mine. I turned around in shock and saw it was Luhan with his cute angelic face.

 

“Hey.” I smiled at him and he beamed right back at me.

 

“Sup.” He said and started swinging our intertwined hands like a happy couple. “So where you headed?”

 

“Home. You?” I asked and looked at me curiously.

 

“Would you care to accompany me somewhere?” He asked and I couldn’t help but blush. He was being so proper.

 

“Of course I would love to!” I accepted immediately. “Where are we going?” I asked.

 

“My friend Kris’s house.” He said with a smile pulling me along gently. “Come on lets go.” He said walking towards the parking lot. He stopped in front of a sleek black Audi.

 

 

“Woah, is this yours?” I asked in shock and he nodded as he unlocked the car and opened the passenger door for me. “Like a gentlemen.” I said with a smile sliding inside the car. He shut the door and walked over to the drivers seat and started up the car. It let out a soft hum before Luhan turned out of the university and to Kris’s house.

 

“What made you want to transfer to SM?” He asked.

 

“Honestly? It was on a whim.” I giggled remembering my anger from breaking up with my boyfriend and sending in my audition tape.

 

“Wow, that’s amazing. But you are an amazing piano player.” he said smiling at me causing a blush to appear on my cheeks.

 

“Thanks... So, do you have any other talents besides your voice?” I asked.

 

“My face of course.” he said jokingly causing me to laugh.

 

“Really?” I asked and he nodded.

 

“Don’t you like it?” He asked causing me to blush slightly.  “But in all honesty, my dancing too I guess. I’ve improved a lot from when I first entered.” He said and pulled up into a driveway. The house was rich and expensive and somehow, felt familiar.

 

“This is the house?” I asked and he nodded shutting down his car. He slid out of the drivers seat and opened my door like a true gentlemen. I looked at him with a smile has he helped me out of the car holding my hand. He led me up through the gates and to the front door. He punched in a couple of digits and the door unlocked.

 

“Looks like he decided to show up!” A voice said as a guy came to greet us. He had such an adorable face along with cute chubby cheeks. The other one wore something that looked like guyliner.

 

 

“Oh is this her?!” The guy behind him asked. He was followed by another dark boy who had a mysterious aura around him. The one with his arm around the dark boy had a face of an ulzzang with his seldom emotionless facial expression.

 

“Yeah, this is her. Mia, these are my friends Xiumin, Baekhyun Kai and Sehun.” Luhan introduced us.

 

“It’s nice to meet you.” I said bowing to them. When I got back up I saw a familiar guy with bushy eyebrows eying me.

 

“Kevinnie?” I gasped staring at the bushy eyebrow boy in front of me.

 

“Kevinnie? No one calls me Kevin.” He said looking at me oddly then stared at my facial features intensely. He pulled me towards him. His arm s around my waist as his other hand cupped my cheek so I was staring at him.

 

“AIKA?!” He gasped and pinched my cheeks like a kid pulling them in every direction.

 

“Of course it is stupid!” I said in English poking his cheeks. Kevin seriously went on a growth spree. In height as well as hormones. The last time I saw my bushy eyebrowed friend in person was three years ago. When I first met him back in elementary school he was a nerd still learning how to speak Korean since he only spoke English and Chinese. He wore big huge ugly spectacles with his mismatched clothing and hair that when everywhere.

 

“YOU’RE SO GOOD LOOKING NOW! OH MY GOSH!! WHERE’S MY UGLY CHINESE FRIEND?!” I stated as I wrapping my arms around my best friend’s waist. He was so firm now. He probably had some fine abs!

 

Luhan on the other hand could not stand it seeing me hugging his best friend like that. It wasn’t fair. He found me first. I was his. He claimed me as his already.

 

“You too on the contrary.” He said with a deep chuckle and pulled away, his arm still wrapped around me. “Everyone this my best friend Aika, but I guess she goes by Mia now.” Kris said and I just giggled.

 

“Woah! You know her too?!” Baekhyun said leaning closely inspecting my face but Kris pulled me away from before he got to close.

 

“Don’t touch. She’s off-limits.” Kris said protectively. He looked straight at Luhan whose brows furrowed in anger.

 

“Woah, Kevinnie. You grew a lot! Before I used to be your sacrifice who had to save your !” I joked and he turned red as I brought up the embarrassing moment for him.

 

"Shut up Aika." Kris growled but I couldn't help but laugh. This was the Kris that wouldn't harm a fly.

 

"Is Kevinnie still soft hearted?" I asked innocently and all of them looked shocked. Kris was known as a heartthrob breaking every girls hearts the moment they confess. Kris's quick glare to his friend got them to say yes.

 

"Yay! My sweet Kevinnie is still here! I remember that one time you saved that baby birds life! Do you still have it?!" I asked and he nodded. He pointed to the backyard where a beautiful Blue Jay rested.

 

"Oh its Krissy!" I said running towards the backyard to greet my long time friend.

 

"You know her?" Kai raised his eyes in suspicion once I was out of the room.

 

"She was one of the first friends I met when I came here." Kris said and Sehun just snickered.

 

"She really is cute now that she’s up close. Good thing you're going for her huh Luhan?" Sehun slung an arm around Luhan who only snapped out of his daze.

 

"Oh yeah of course I am." Luhan said with a smile looking at Mia roaming the house.

 

"You can't play with her." Kris's voice was low and almost like a growl. "You hurt her, you're dead to me." He threatened like he was a wolf protecting his love.

 

"Woah, Kris. Chill man." Xiumin said trying to calm Kris down. Kris wasn't the type to care for a girl. So seeing him care so much for this one girl shocked all his friends.

 

"Well I guess both our little secrets better not get out then. Mr. Innocent boy." Luhan smirked causing the wolf in Kris wanting to attack him.

 

"Kevinnieee! Is the password the same?" I called from across the room.

 

"Yeah it is!" Kris hollered back and shot Luhan a glare. "I'm serious. I'm not going to witness her get heartbroken again." Kris growled his last threat before going to join me in the back.

 

If Kris was so overprotective of this one girl, was she his first love? Luhan thought.

 

AUTHOR’S POV

"Krissy! Do you remember me?" Mia asked as the bird waddled closer and closer before flapping her elegant wings and landing on her shoulder. The graceful Blue Jay showed Mia affection by rubbing her head against mine.  "Aww you do remember me!" Mia happily said as rubbing her head affectionately.

"Did she tame that evil bird?" Kai muttered to Luhan and he slowly nodded. Apparently the bird caught what Kai said and sent a sharp death glare towards him. Kai shivered in fear seeing the glare and slowly disappeared behind Luhan.

 

Luhan just dragged Kai towards the backyard and saw Mia was happily snuggling with the bird as it in return showered her with affection.

 

"Kris, how?" Sehun asked staring at the bird I'm disbelief as Mia fed the bird her favorite treats.

 

"She was with me when we rescued it as a chick." Kris said and Mia walked towards them with Krissy sitting on her shoulder peacefully.

 

"Kevinnie was such a cute boy before! We were walking along and playing in the park then he saw Krissy as a baby on the ground barely alive. He picked her up and raced to the nearest animal hospital. We visited Krissy everyday after school checking on how she was for two weeks straight. After Kevinnie adopted Krissy and took her home. She hates everyone who wasn't there for her when she was hurt!" Mia smiled recalling the memory. "Kevinnie loved Krissy so much!! Its why I think he looks like an angry bird!" Mia doubled over in laughter and all the rest of his friends snickered.

 

"So how is she calm now?" Xiumin asked staring at Krissy.

 

"I'm here!" Mia proudly stated.

 

"Oh crap. Its 7PM. I gotta run." Kai said as he checked his phone. "Meeting up with someone..." He slowly said. Everyone understood but Mia but that was fine. If she didn't know, it would protect all their secrets."See you guys!" He said running out the door.

 

"We should get going too." Baekhyun said as Xiumin and Sehun agreed with him.

 

"I'll give you a ride home." Luhan gently smiled at Mia.

 

"Okay, thank you Luhan." Mia brightly thanked him.

 

"Well we're going to. See you later!" Xiumin, Baekhyun and Sehun said as they left.

 

"Kevinnie. I need your number." Mia said staring at Kris.

 

"Oh okay." he said taking her phone and inputting the numbers.

 

"Yay! I can call you whenever. Like before!" Mia brightly smiled. “You better answer all the time!” She threatened with a smile and he let out a small chuckle.

 

"Of course. Send me a text in advance if you're going to call." Kris said and Mia nodded.

 

"Rodger best friend!" Mia said hugging him as he hugged back. The bystander Luhan hated seeing that. Why was Kris so close to her? He never mentioned anything about their friendship before hand but these to talk as if they've known each other forever.

 

"Well I see you then!" Mia said waving goodbye.

 

"See you later man." Luhan said taking Mia's other hand and leading her out the door. As soon as the door closed Kris's heart finally calmed down.

 

"Mia, that's a nice name. Its just as beautiful as Aika." Kris smiled to to himself while Krissy sat on his shoulder as Kris walked up the stairs towards his room. “Krissy, did you miss her?” Kris looked over at the bird and the bird slowly nodded. “So did I.” Kris said and looked over to his night stand. It held a normal lamp, an alarm clock and a picture of a 7 year old Kris beaming brightly and on his back was a girl. She also had a bright smile and a held up a peace sign. “It’s nice to see you Aika...” he smiled.

 

AUTHOR’S POV

"So how did you meet Kris?" Luhan asked as he started up the car and it hummed to life. Mia smiled at the sound. It sounded so damn lovely.

 

"Kevin, we used to be next door neighbors." Mia said as Luhan drove.

 

"You moved out? Or did he upgrade?" Luhan asked. Kris was the rich kid who paid for anyone who did a good aegyo. er helped pay for Luhan’s car.

 

"Well both technically. The apartment was rustic and old. I'm quite sure you know how his parents are successful business people. Well they couldn't sacrifice their image so they bought a better house. My parents too but I still live in that same old apartment. Oh take a left here." Mia  explained as Luhan pulled up to a tall apartment building.

 

"Now its better looking, only the outside." Mia said as the apartment looked high class. "Thanks for the ride home Luhan." Mia smiled but somehow it didn't reach her eyes.

 

"Are you ok?" Luhan asked in concern reaching for her hand but she abruptly pulled away.

 

"Yeah. I'll see you later." Mia said leaving the car as her heart raced like a car in NASCAR. She walked inside knowing it would be another lonely night she would spend alone like always.

 

Luhan saw Mia walk inside and groaned in frustration. Mia was messing with his head. He never felt a protective nor a jealous feeling before. When he saw Kris being protective as if he liked her, that ticked Luhan off more than anything. Then when she pulled away her hand it made him feel empty.

 

 

Luhan drove off to a club where he got VIP treatment. When he got to the room he ordered a tequila to drink away his pain. Girls swarmed him in their body hugging skimpy clothing. Only one went inside climbing onto his lap straddling him as she drew swirls on his chest with a seductive smirk.

 

"Luhan oppa. Let's have some fun tonight." She said with her seductive tone leaning into kiss him. Luhan just sipped from his drink in deep thought as she slowly came closer planting a kiss on his cheek. Luhan's eyes widened in shock and saw the girl on top of him.

 

"What the are you doing here?" Luhan snarled at the girl who pulled away instantly. She tilted her head innocently trying to seem like she didn't know what he was talking about. Luhan saw right through it.

 

Her eyes are different than Mia's ... Luhan thought staring into her eyes.

 

"Get the off me. Who said you could join me." Luhan snarled again.

 

"Sorry. We'll have fun later then," She said getting up and so did Luhan. Luhan walked her to the door and was about to open it for her she blockaded the door. In a swift motion she grabbed his collar and pulled him in for a kiss catching him by surprise. She tried moving against him as she slowly grinded her body against his. Luhan finally processed what was going on and shoved the girl at the door with his hands around her neck suffocating her.

 

"Do you ing understand Korean?  Or do I have to speak German for you to understand you piece of ." He said closing his hands closer as she coughed trying to get air.

 

"I...so ...Ry...." she said in her short breaths. Her eyes screamed fear of death. Luhan was not someone to mess with when anger clouded his mind.

 

"Get the out and don't talk to me ever.  Understand?!" He growled and she blinked once since she was incapable of moving her head. Luhan let go, opening the door and shoving her harshly out with the finale of slamming the door shut with so much force, stuff hanging on the wall fell down.

 

Luhan let out a groan and snuck out the window to go home.

 

A club with a few drinks was not the solution to this problem.

I chose the Blue Jay as the bird, because it's mostly known in Canada... kekeke. Kris, Canada... haha! I'm so amusing~
