A/N: lol, hi again! :D okay, I know you're all excited but PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!!

So I thought I'd do something special for you guys today, as thanks for all the support you've given this story.

Consider it as my thanks and a sort of my birthday blowout for you- double update and CHANGMIN'S POV!!

ONE WHOLE CHAPTER IN OUR FAVORITE MAKNAE'S POV. 'nuff said XD

I know you're all waiting for it, so I made it long, instead of just a part of a chapter like the others :D

Also, I'm sorry if the whole thing is a whole rambling nonsense, but hey, Changmin's really got a lot in his mind and he's trying sort everything that he's been thinking and feeling ever since Erin arrived. You get to sort of see here everything that's happened so far, but from how Changmin takes it.

So yeah, disclaimer, if you all get confused in this chapter, blame Changmin, not me :P

She called me ‘oppa’, Changmin thought. She actually called me ‘oppa’.

He had returned to his bed in a daze… after he had kissed her forehead goodnight.

He ing kissed her on the forehead goodnight, did you hear me?

The maknae didn’t even know what pushed him to do it!

And he was now looking with wonder at the sleeping girl opposite him, that thought repeating and repeating itself in his mind.

“Ugh,” Changmin groaned quietly, tugging at his hair in frustration, trying to get his thoughts together.

The last week had been challenging and harrowing for the maknae, to say the least.

While their most recent concert in Tokyo Dome had been very fun and fulfilling, the weeks they had spent beforehand preparing for it had really been tiring for them. Add to that the fact that they don’t even get enough rest even before they had started rehearsing for that concert.

And right after they had just finished that concert and thought that they were finally going to be able to just breathe and relax for a while, Changmin and his hyungs found a girl that somehow managed to get into their dressing room. A girl who was apparently from the future.

A girl that was somehow making him react and feel things inside him in ways that he had never done so before.

Changmin knew that his hyungs had been wondering what the hell had gotten into him that made him act like a complete jerk towards Erin ever since they first saw her, but even Changmin himself couldn’t explain why he just felt the need to aggravate her.

Because whether you all believe or not, he doesn’t really usually purposely make a person, especially not a female, angry with him.

He knew that he had been nothing but unpleasant towards the girl that was now staying with them, and he really couldn’t help but feel guilty whenever he would go too far and see the sadness and pain that would show quite clearly in Erin’s eyes.

But then he would try to reason with himself that it’s not like the girl was totally helpless against him, was she? They’ve had quite a few fights already, and it’s really a surprising number given the fact that she had been with them for just less than a week, and time and time again, she would prove that she was more than capable of tangling with Changmin.

Whenever he pushed at her, she would not just take it lying down but push back as equally hard, if not harder.

For some reason, seeing her fighting spirit and stubbornness seemed to make Changmin smile to himself. Sometimes, it made her seem quite… endearing?

However, there were also times when he felt nothing but a humongous amount of annoyance and irritation towards Erin and would like nothing more than to wring her neck (well, not really). Because as surely as he got to her nerves, Erin surely gets to his nerves too!

And yet I still opened the door for her, Changmin now thought, part wry, part amused, and part very much confused.

Changmin had spent most of the day locked up in the bedroom, not coming out or even bothering to answer his hyungs' panicked and scared voices that were calling from the other side of the door.

Not that they should have expected that he would have opened the door for them, after what he had been hearing about what would happen to them in the future.

Erin’s arrival had been confusing and stressing for all of them, since none of them knew how they could help her and get her back to her own time. Not to mention the then-unknown mission that she had to somehow complete before she could get back to her own time. No one among Changmin and his hyungs had been able to come up with any possible idea as to what her mission might have been, and he was sure that his other members all wished that they would just know what it was so that they can work on helping Erin do it.

The problem was that once they had found out what her mission was… well, all of them wished they haven’t found out about it instead.

Changmin had known that something was wrong from the very moment that Erin had realized that she had mentioned ‘JYJ’ in front of them. Because Junsu had been right. She had looked paler then than she had when she had realized that she wasn’t in her own time anymore. And Changmin knew that it could have only meant something bad, if it made her more scared than being thrown back into the past, right?

That’s why he had been the first out of his seat and had quickly followed Erin to the couches when she told them that they all had to talk seriously.

Whatever horrible thing he had been expecting to hear, however, even Changmin hadn’t expected that Erin would tell them that he and Yunho were the only members left in their group in her time. He hadn’t expected that she would be telling them that he and Yunho would remain in their group in the future… while Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu were in another separate group.

The feelings and emotions that flooded and stormed and raged inside him then had been so overwhelming. He had been in a state of shock and disbelief at first. How could they have been separated?, was the only thought that had been running in his mind.

As Erin began to explain through her tears what happened to them in the future, the shock and disbelief in Changmin had quickly been replaced by gut-wrenching hurt and deep sorrow. And his mind had only been able to focus on one thing that Erin had said, that JYJ had filed the lawsuit against their company.

Changmin had known deep, deep, deep down that it was irrational for to feel that way, but he couldn’t help but lash out on Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu.

For him, Dong Bang Shin Ki was something that was always and would always be a whole unit made up of five members. So to hear that the three of them had left their company, along with him and Yunho, was really something that struck and pierced to the center of the maknae’s heart.

They say that when you’re badly hurt, one of the first things that you would show it through is with your anger. And sure enough, Changmin had gone into a flying rage at Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun, shocking not only the three members, but also Yunho and Erin as well.

He hadn’t been able to listen to reason then. He hadn’t been able to feel anything but rejection and abandomnet. He hadn’t been able to think of anything to do to let out his emotions except to lunge for Jaejoong. He couldn’t help but feel that they left him behind.

No matter what Erin had tried to say that afternoon about considering that train of thought not being productive might have been true, but either way, there had been no way that Changmin could prevent himself from wondering about it.

Because he was finding it hard to accept the reality of what had happened to their future selves.

He couldn’t think of how his future self would without Jaejoong to cook delicious meals for him, without Yoochun to play computer games with and have brotherly bonding moments, and without Junsu for him to pick on and laugh with.

He couldn’t imagine how he and Yunho’s futures selves dealt with the fact that they were in SM while the other three went their own way and followed their own dreams, not when they all used to share the same dreams before.

But apparently that would not remain that way in the future.

And after Erin had told them that about their separation and that they were indeed her mission, the day only got for worse for Changmin as she carried on, at their own promptings, to explain about their current lives in her time.

To hear that they were separated in the future was a horrible thing, but to hear how the lawsuit had strained and even possibly damaged their relationships with each other was too much to bear.

And that accursed video!

Seeing the very proof that they would not be on the best of terms with each other during that whole mess with his own eyes had almost made Changmin grabbed Erin’s laptop and break it into two. No matter how furious the girl would get at him.

He had wanted to hit Yoochun when he had told him that he looked like in the video, but after Erin had agreed to that fact and reassured Changmin that it wasn’t said as an insult but merely as an expression of the truth that portrayed how badly he was affected by the lawsuit issue, he just looked down in his pain.

Because, yes, Yoochun and Erin had been right.

He had looked like a total wreck during that performance of theirs. Their last performance.

Not even Changmin could deny that his future self was really upset about their situation then, judging from the dark shadows under his eyes that were very visible whenever the video focused to a close-up of his face. And looking at his puffy eyes, Changmin’s future self had also probably just cried some short time before they went on stage.

That whole video had been like a living nightmare for Changmin to watch.

To cap it all, Changmin felt like his heart was being torn apart, then shredded, and finally grounded into powder when Erin had told them about their careers in the future and how he and Yunho were forbidden from talking with the other three and were being kept separated from them.

Not only were they no longer group members, apparently they weren’t even friends anymore in the future!

Changmin might have been furious at his hyungs' future selves for leaving him and Yunho, but that didn’t mean that he didn’t want anything to do with them anymore! To know that they were kept apart from the people they had been considering as their brothers for about seven years already was excruciating.

The whole fiasco was rounded off by all of them realizing that Yunjae had also split up as a couple in the future, Yunho leaving the hotel, and Jaejoong crying and running into their bedroom.

Changmin had locked himself in his room last night, just like he had been doing the same thing tonight. And while he hadn't exactly been sleeping last night, he was still disturbed from his torpidness when Yunho had staggered into the room at around four in the morning, quite red in the face and swaying on his feet.

It had only taken Changmin a couple of seconds to figure out that his leader had probably headed to the nearest bar he could find after leaving the hotel and had drunk himself to that state that night.

Changmin grimaced as he remembered the “conversation”, if you could call it that, with his hyung last night. Talking with a drunk Yunho wasn’t really the best idea. Not that he had any choice, because it was Yunho that kept on blabbering to him about ‘life’, ‘loss’, and, of course, ‘Jaejoongie’. Yunho’s words then had been more of slur, but Changmin had felt like he had gotten the gist of the leader’s drunken ramblings with those few keywords.

He couldn’t help but feel even more resentful towards Jaejoong as he had to help Yunho strip down to his underwear and get him into bed, all the while the leader kept trying to engage Changmin into conversation, this time about ‘pain’, ‘heartbreak’, and ‘goodbye’.

But Changmin had already just dealt with those subjects too recently to even want to consider talking about them with a drunken Yunho. Not that he would have even considered conversing with Yunho when the latter was obviously under the heavy influence of alcohol anyway.

The maknae only grew bitterer the next day when all of five of them had been, most understandably, in his most humble opinion, awkward with the other members that would be separated from them in the future. But then Erin had woken up and flipped the on them for already “subgrouping” themselves.

When she forced them to sit all together for breakfast, Changmin knew right away that it was going one of those moment when he’d want to wring her neck (again, not really... he thinks?).

Because sure enough, the tension around the table then had been more than enough for Changmin to consider to just tell ‘ it’ to everything and did what Yunho did last night and just get out of the suite… but then their manager called. And things even got worse because of that... and how Yoochun had reacted to the phone call and the manager's message.

Changmin had been furious with Yoochun since yesterday.

Sure, it had seemed to be Jaejoong that was taking the burn of his temper when he loses control of it, but Yoochun had been getting into his nerves even more. He was, after all, the most vocal against their company among themselves.

It wasn’t that Changmin thought that Yoochun was wrong about his accusations against SM. Heck

Chapter 1: Every time I miss them and yearn to be within this casual intimate space with them, I come back to this story. Every time I ask myself unanswerable questions or think of what-ifs and how different the future could've been, I come back to this story.

I wasn't sure about reading this story at first, as I believe that everything happens for a reason. I believe that everything the boys have experienced - good or bad - has helped them grow and mature into who and what they are today, as different as they might be in the story. They each paved their path with their efforts and hard work. They all grew a lot, learned a lot, and made many amazing achievements and precious memories. The things they did, the music they made, and the experiences they gained in those ten years apart are all equally precious, and I honestly wouldn't trade them for an alternate reality.

That's why I treasure their present as much as their past. Their past will always be precious - to them and us - no matter how much time passes or things change. If they ever have a future together, that day will be the happiest in Cassiopeia's history. Until that day comes, I will treasure every day they spend growing and doing their best in what they love. I'm grateful enough that they exist in this world in my lifetime.

Yet there are days when I wish this story was real and yearn for any interactions between the five with all my being. On such days, every DB5K song, video, and picture just makes me cry and scream WHY.

It's even worse when I read this story set in 2014 and realize that barely anything has changed five years later. Instead, we now yearn to see JYJ interactions just like we always did with DB5K. It's so painful and frustrating. It's naive to think it'll ever get less hard and sad to remember after many years. That's because no matter how much time passes, they'll never be less precious in our hearts.

Being part of Cassiopeia is not easy. Our boys are separated and experience many hardships, and our fandom is equally split, messy, and toxic as a result. There's a lot we need to endure, wait for, and persevere through as fans. But the boys honestly make anything and everything worth it. They're the reason we're all still here going strong 15 years later. We still empty merchandise and album shelves and increase votes and views. We still sell out tickets and fill venues. We're still a shining pearl red ocean. We're still keeping the faith and finding happiness and inspiration in our boys. We honestly couldn't be more blessed.
