Frankly it was an ordeal moving all his stuff into his new dorm. You would think it would just be things like clothes, but no. He had to pack all of his clothes, his guitar, mp3 player, CD player, computer, and a whole bunch of things that wouldn’t even occur to you. It was hard work. But once Hyunsoo managed to move all of his things into the dorm the excitement settled in once again.

“Ya! Hyung!” Hyunsoo called

Hyunsoo was seated cross-legged on the couch flipping through the pictures on his phone. Both he and his new roommate had moved in two days before – the same day as the audition--.  Taesun peeked his head out of his bedroom and looked at Hyunsoo.

“What?”

Hyunsoo waved his hand, gesturing to Taesun.

“Come here.”

Taesun made a face.

“Don’t talk to me like that.”

Despite him scolding the younger boy he still did as told and stepped out of his room. Throwing himself down on the couch he waited. Hyunsoo shuffled through his phone and pressed the camera button. He leaned himself closer to Taesun and got them both in the picture.

“Smile, hyung!”

Taesun didn’t smile, instead he made a funny face just as Hyunsoo hit the button. He held out his hand quickly.

“Let me see!”

Hyunsoo opened up the picture and let out a short laugh, placing the phone in Taesun’s open hand. Taesun smiled at the picture, then began flipping through the rest of the pictures.

“So, hyung. When is your first class?”

Hyunsoo laid back on the couch, looking around at the boxes that still took up a bunch of space in the living room and kitchen.

“Tomorrow. Bright and early” Taesun answered, still flipping through pictures. Hyunsoo nodded.

“Same. I have to go dance.”

Taesun held out Hyunsoo’s phone with a laugh.

“Ya. Hyunsoo. How many girlfriends do you have? Every picture on here is of you with a girl.” Taesun laughed even harder. “And they are all different girls!”

Hyunsoo made a face and snatched the phone out of Taesun’s hand.

“Girls just like me. What can I say?”

Taesun shook his head and stood.

“Okay, Cassanova. Whatever you say.” He stretched his arms above his head and gazed into the kitchen “Are you hungry? We should go get something to eat.”

Hyunsoo looked down at his clothes. He was only wearing sweatpants and socks.

“But I’m not dressed. We don’t have any food in here?”

Taesun shook his head, already walking towards his room to get changed. When he reached the door he turned his head to call over his shoulder.

“Well then get dressed, heartbreaker. You never know. There might be some girls.”

Hyunsoo stood from the couch, shaking his head at his roommate. He was going to get dressed. But it wasn’t going to be to pick up girls.

Hyunsoo dressed faster than Taesun. He had only thrown on jeans and a light hoodie. He didn’t bother to touch his hair. They were only getting something to eat, and regardless, he preferred to be comfortable. He sat on the couch, again, flipping through his phone. Since they had just moved in, there wasn’t much to do. They hadn’t even plugged the TV in yet.

“Hyung!” Hyunsoo called “Hurry up!”

No response came and Hyunsoo sighed. It was almost like he was waiting for a girl, Taesun took so long. It took Taesun a total of 20 minutes to get dressed, and Hyunsoo couldn’t help but roll his eyes as Taesun stepped out of his room and made his way to the door, pulling out a pair of shoes. Taesun looked up.

“Are you coming? Let’s go.”

“Ya! Don’t talk to me like you have been waiting for me this whole time.” Hyunsoo laughed as he stood up, making his way to the door as Taesun opened it. “You are wearing polka dotted socks. You are wearing jewelry too.” Hyunsoo eyed Taesun’s outfit as he pulled on his shoes and exited the dorm. Taesun shook his head, deciding to ignore Hyunsoo as they made their way down the hall.

“And you pants are rolled up! Hyung, really? Why take so much energy getting ready? You look like an idol in airport fashion. Are you a fashionista?”

Hyunsoo continued to ask questions while Taesun simply walked, pulling his sunglasses over his eyes as they neared the exit.

“What’s wrong with his outfit? I think it’s fine.” A feminine voice interrupted Hunsoo.

Both males turned their head to see who had spoken. Two girls stood behind them, a dark-haired standing with her arms crossed, and the other, a brunette laughing slightly behind her hand. The brunette pulled her hand from and bowed slightly at the two.

“Ah. Sorry. We were just leaving to get food, and we ended up walking behind you.”

Both boys nodded, still facing the girls. The blonde scratched her head, sensing the awkwardness that was beginning to build.

“Well, If you look good, you feel good you know? So… I think his outfit looks fine.”

Taesun couldn’t help but smile and gave Hyunsoo a look.

“She thinks my outfit is fine Hyunsoo-ah. So will you drop it now?” He turned to the brunette again, glancing at the other girl, who still stood silent with her arms crossed over her chest.

“I’m Taesun, this is Hyunsoo.” He introduced himself and Hyunsoo, who bowed quickly.

The brunette smiled, relieved that the awkward atmosphere diminished quickly.

“I’m Kymin. This is….Yeji? I think….” She turned to look at the other girl for confirmation.

Yeji sighed loudly. She dropped her arms from her crossed position and looked at the three.

“Well. If we are going to stand here and chat, I’m just going to go back to the dorm” She turned and made her way back down the hall, mumbling “I guess I’ll make myself ramyun.”

Kymin’s eyes widened and she glanced at the two boys. She bowed.

“I’m sorry…. She’s been like that since I met her… I gotta go. Bye!”

She turned and waved at the two as she took off at a jog to catch up with Yeji. The boys watched her for a moment before continuing to their destination.

“Well, I still think it’s weird.” Hyunsoo muttered as they left the building, earning a smack on the back of the head.

“Drop it.” Taesun scolded.

Kymin caught up to Yeji at the elevator. She brushed the hair out of her face and took a deep breath.

“Ya. Why’d you walk off like that?”

She made a face when she got no response. It was going to be really difficult trying to be friendly with this girl. They were roommates now! They had to get along. Ever since Kymin had moved in she had been cold to her. Granted, Kymin had only just arrived that day, but still.

“Well, do you want to make ramyun then?” Kymin asked

Yeji glanced at her as the doors to the elevator opened. They both stepped in and pressed the button.

“That’s what I planned on doing” Yeji responded.

Kymin nodded, letting silence fall between them. The walk was awkward, Kymin would try to think of something to say to Yeji, but would consistently fail at starting up a conversation. Yeji would either not comment, or only respond with two or three words. When they re-entered their dorm Kymin walked directly into the kitchen to begin cooking.

Yeji stood there for a moment. They had entered the house, and Yeji had fully planned of cooking the food, but Kymin had beat her there. She wasn’t sure whether to join Kymin in the kitchen, or do something else while she cooked. It wasn’t that Yeji didn’t like Kymin, she just didn’t know her yet, and trying to talk to her was incredibly awkward to her.

Yeji decided to sit on the couch, and slowly made her way over, laying so that the kitchen was behind her head. It took a moment, but Yeji concluded that not speaking to her new roommate might make things difficult for them later on. Awkwardly Yeji turned her head to face the kitchen.

“I’ll cook dinner for us later.”

After speaking she quickly turned back around and pulled out an mp3 player, placing the ear buds in her ears. She had a class that night, so she would cook after. Maybe she would even stop by the grocery store and pick up some ingredients so they don’t need to eat ramyun again.

Kymin smiled from her spot in the kitchen. Alright, so maybe that’s just how she is. Kymin continued to cook the ramyun, bringing it into the living room when she was done and placing it on a hot pad.

“Lunch is served.” She said as she sat down in front of the pot, handing a small bowl and chopsticks to Yeji who sat up from the couch.

Again, silence covered the two as they ate. Neither said anything to the other until Yeji abruptly stood after finishing. Kymin blinked up at her, surprised at the sudden movement.

“What happened?”

Yeji gathered her mp3 from the couch and hurried to her room to get dressed. It was already 3:30 and her class started in half an hour and she wasn’t anywhere near dressed.

“I have a class in half an hour.” She called over her shoulder as she closed the door to her bedroom, dressing as quickly as possible in a simple T-shirt and loose jeans.

Kymin watched as Yeji rushed around the dorm gathering things. She had rushed from the floor, where they were eating, to her bedroom, then when she finished dressing she rushed from her bedroom to the kitchen, where she picked up a notebook, then stopped at the door to put her shoes on. She waved a quick goodbye before rushing out of the door.

Once the door closed Kymin laughed, returning to the half-finished ramyun. That was probably the most energy she had seen out of Yeji since they met.
