Chapter 27

Tracking the Princess

TOP is catching his breath.

“Are you all right?” asked Sunny as she runs leaving TOP behind.

“I am just getting a bit dizzy with this blurred vision.” Said TOP

“I think we need to go back to the Inn…since last night, we’ve been going around the city looking for Sulli. You’re not completely healed yet.  I’m sure the others are looking too. This is not even that big of a city. Where can she be?” said Sunny frustrated.

“No…we should keep looking.” Said TOP “Until we find her we should not stop looking.”

“No TOP, you will be useless to the circle if your eyes get worse.” Said Sunny “We’ll go back to the Inn.”

Everyone was without word in the Inn.

“We’ve gone through almost every corner of the city.” Said Chanyeol

“Could  the Princess left the City then?” asked Kris

“Sulli would come back to us for sure...she knows we need not waste time…She would have already come back if nothing bad happened.” Said Master Cha

Chanyeol can’t keep his worry down.

“Why did she leave without a word in the first place?” asked Luhan

“Perhaps because of the story about the Black Dragon and the Faeries…She might’ve been affected too much.” Said Kris

Sunny and TOP looked at each other.

That’s the best explanation.

Chanyeol went out.

“Chayeol, get back here!” Said Master Cha

“Don’t worry, I‘ll keep an eye on him.” said Sunny

Sunny also went out.

Sunny waked behind Chanyeol. Chanyeol felt someone walking behind him and turned to Sunny.

“When I saw her leave last night…she looked like… she’s crying…” said Chanyeol

Sunny shook her head. “That’s not good.” Said Sunny

“Yes…of course…Tsk! I even bought her a charmed bracelet to ease her anxiety but even that did not help!.” Said Chanyeol

“Charmed…bracelet?” asked Sunny

“Yeah..umm…the vendor said it will help relax her.” Said Chanyeol

“You are really into her, huh?” asked Sunny

Chanyeol looked guilty and shouted. “What are you talking about?!”

“It’s obvious. And becoming more obvious by the minute.” Said Sunny

Chanyeol looked away scratching his head.

“If the bracelet is still with her. And it’s really charmed…then there’s a way to track Sulli!” said Sunny just realizing it now.

“By the charmed bracelet?” asked Chanyeol

“Yes. I remember when I was a kid, I got lost one time and my father was able to track me down using the charmed ring he gave me.” Said Sunny

“Can you track her?” asked Chanyeol

“I need to go to my book and get more information. But I think we may need the vendor you bought the bracelet from. He may have some things that we need to track that bracelet.” Said Sunny

“I’ll go find him.” Said Chanyeol

“Wait, I’ll ask Kris or Luhan to go with you. We can’t go anywhere alone.” Said Sunny

“Hurry. I am not comfortable wasting time while we don’t know what’s happening with Sulli.” Said Chanyeol

Chanyeol and Luhan went through the market.

“I swear I saw him by that restaurant yesterday.” said Chanyeol

“It means he goes around every day. Maybe he doesn’t stay in just one place.” Said Luhan

“We need to find him.” Said Chanyeol

“Maybe we should start asking around.” Said Luhan. “Can I try?”

Chanyeol nodded.

“Excuse me Maam…but we are looking for a vendor who sells charmed bracelets? My friend bought one yesterday and wants to buy more.” Said Luhan

That made Chanyeol’s brows raised.

“You mean the one who just puts a carpet on the floor and put all those cheap accessories on sale saying it’s charmed?” asked the fruit vendor.

“Umm…” Luhan looked at Chanyeol who just nodded. “Yes! Yes! He is the one we are looking for.” Said Luhan

“That guy just comes and go. He doesn’t have a permanent schedule or even a permanent place.” Said the Vendor.

Luhan took a deep breath. “I hate to say this but….That guy’s wife is in a life and death situation. And the bracelet is the deathbed wish.” Said Luhan

“Death…bed?” asked the Vendor.

“Yes…this guy bought a charmed bracelet yesterday. But his wife lost it. And so the wife went around the city to look for the bracelet…she encountered an accident though…And now she is nearing her last breath and asks that she could see the bracelet again.” Said Luhan almost tears in his eyes.

Chanyeol’s brows rose. This guy can really act like it’s real.

“What a shame…he seems to still be young to be a widower.” Said the Vendor.

“Yes…his wife is even younger than him.” Said Luhan

“Hmmm all right…Hmm… I do know where he can possibly enter the city. He normally enters through the southern gate. So if he’s not yet in the city. He would enter from the southern gate for sure.” Said the Vendor.

Luhan looked at Chanyeol. Chanyeol nodded…this Luhan guy is talented.

“Thank you so much Maam. We will wait for him there then.”  Said Luhan.

Luhan and Chanyeol reached the southern gate.

“Where did you learn to do that?” asked Chanyeol

“Learn what?” asked Luhan

“Invent stories in an instant. And then act like your story is true.” Said Chanyeol

“Oh….that’s my first time to do that. Was it good?” asked Luhan

Chanyeol’s eyes narrowed. He can’t believe that’s the first time seeing how flawless it was.

“All right…maybe not my first time. My sister and I used to trick people by acting like helpless children. We don’t have a father anymore…mom was sick…we were the eldest in the siblings…we need to make sure everyone survives…We had to do some acting to get by.” Said Luhan

Chanyeol noticed a familiar man entering the city, a large bag and a rolled carpet on his back.

“That’s him.” Said Chanyeol

Luhan turned right. “So we’re just on time.”

Chanyeol and Luhan followed the man.

“Hey! Are you the one selling charmed bracelets?” asked Chanyeol.

The man turned back. “Oh…I remember you…you bought a bracelet from me. Did your girl like it?”

Chanyeol grabbed the man’s clothes.

“You tricked me. You said it was charmed to ease her anxiety. But now she’s gone because anxiety overtook her.” Said Luhan

“Hey cool down. Don’t go on blaming people.” Said the man

Chanyeol slowly let go of the man. “The woman I gave that bracelet to is missing. We need to find her as soon as possible.”

“Which part of wha
