Chapter 10

Sorcery Land

"A sorcerer will be born with the mark of the current bloodline on her shoulder symbolizing her being part of the Circle of the Diamond. She will be from the clan of the Hafic Sorcery House."

They arrived in very colorful village where everything seems to look like cadies and cakes….

They are all so colorful and nice…it looks like a place for small children.

“Did we just entered another Dimension?” asked Sulli while being carried behind Chanyeol.

She’s starting to speak again. Thought Minho

“That one looks like a lollipop house!” said Sulli

“Yeah! And that one looks like a marshmallow!” said Chanyeol

The Lion even entertains her. 

Minho noticed Chanyeol’s hands on Sulli’s leg…

Minho looked away.

And then looked at it again.

Why is it bothering him?

“Be careful not to touch anything until the last post over there.” Said Master Cha pointing to the post.

“But why Master…The wall of that one looks so fluffy!” said Sulli

“This is the sorcery territory. They normally put enchantments on the first few meters of their territory as protection.” Said Master Cha

“Yeah..I’ve read it a couple of times. Any wrong move and you will get punished.” Said Kris

“Like how?” asked Chanyeol

“It can go as light as having rashes all over your body… or as bad as death.” Said Kris

That suddenly made Sulli’s sweet tooth gone.

“During passing through the enchanted area, one should not touch anything….you are to really just walk pass through.” Said Master Cha

After passing through the post, everything suddenly looked like a normal village…only that the colors are a bit too bright…but no candy houses anymore.

“Why did we go here, Master?” asked Chanyeol

“We need to find a sorcerer.” Said Master Cha

“A sorcerer who’s part of the circle?” asked Sulli

“Yes.” Said Kris “We need to find that person here.”

TOP and Minho has not spoken a word since they left Mount Yukjun.

“But…this looks like a large city….than a village…it’s big…” Sulli remarked looking at how busy the streets are and how big the houses and structures are.

“How do we start looking?” asked Sulli

“Aside from the mark…which only appears on ‘we can never tell’ instances, do we have other clues?” asked Chanyeol

“Yes…for this one we are lucky enough to have another clue.” Said Kris

“What is it?” asked Chanyeol

“Her Sorcery House. She is part of the Hafic Sorcery house.” Said Kris

“Sorcery House?” asked Sulli

“Each Sorcerer here belongs to a family. Families here are grouped together into different  Sorcery houses. Each sorcery house has a head…a leader..sort of a political structure.” Said Master Cha

“Ohh….that’s interesting.” Said Sulli

“Why do they need that?” TOP finally spoke up.

Suli looked at TOP…she has not talked to TOP ever since she first saw him in the floating island.

“Sorcerers are people who rely on knowledge very much. They need to know a lot of spells, magic, potions and a lot of things. The more knowledgeable you are, the stronger a sorcerer you are. Theirs is not the physical strength but more of strength of practical thinking.”  Said Master Cha

“Each house teaches their young sorcerers rigorously. Each house has different styles. Each has different strengths. Even each individual in a family has different gifts. So they can only mange the house if there is a body of leaders managing how the teachings and trainings should be done.”  Said Master Cha “Sorcery is very complicated to the mind.”

“Are everyone here sorcerers?” asked TOP

He’s a curious guy…then why was he too silent earlier?

“Hmm..mostly…but not necessarily…as you can see, if someone knows how the enchantment works, they can go inside without a problem.” Said Master Cha

“Master…do you know where we can find the Hafic house then?” asked Chanyeol “We’ll find him there right?”

And then they heard a loud sound which is almost like…a stomach growling.

“I…I’m sorry.” Said Sulli closing her eyes in embarrassment.

“First we eat.” Said Master Cha.

They went through a very busy street and stopped in front of a very large and luxurious restaurant.

“Wow….Master…You are really the best!” said Chanyeol “I am so glad I joined this journey!” Chanyeol almost entered the restaurant when Master Cha pulled him away.

“Not there.” Said Master Cha “Here”

Master Cha pulled Chanyeol to the small restaurant at the side.

“Here?” asked Chanyeol “But Master!”

Master silenced Chanyeol and everyone took a seat.

“How can you raise my expectations that high Master? Why would you choose this small restaurant beside that….fancy one!” said Chanyeol grumpily.

Kris looked at the window of the fancy restaurant.

“They look rich.” said Kris

“They are rich.” said Master Cha “Here, they do competitions among sorcerers…they gamble on it. They put treasures at stake for winning. The larger the treasure who put at stake, the larger the prize…but larger the loss too if the sorcerer loses. “

“Oh, it’s like the dragon competitions.” Said Chanyeol

“Dragons don’t fight for money.” Said TOP

“Yeah yeah…you fight for honor, I know I know.” Said Chanyeol bored.

TOP sigh in frustration

“So what is the plan?” asked TOP

“None of us knows the Hafic House….so I suggest that we go to the center and find out if there’s anyone who knows where to find it.” Said Kris

Master Cha nodded. “Let’s do what he said. If Hafic is strong, we’ll probably know where they are in no time. If they are one of the weak ones….it’s going to take us a bit longer.”

“If it's wehre we'll get the circel memeber...ti should be strong. We should probably split then so we can ask around more.” Said Chanyeol

“Hmmm….Chanyeol and Kris will go with me. We would start asking around. The three of you, go find a place to stay and then ask around too.” Said Master Cha

Huh? She’ll ask around…with these 2? They both belong to the 'I am preserving my words' family.

“Master…I think the split is wrong…” said Sulli

“Why do you say so?” asked Minho

After hours of silence…he has finally talked

“Umm…what I mean is….hmmm…never mind.” Said Sulli
