Learning a New LifeThe same car rolled up to the entrance of the building. she hopped in and lay still as she felt her whole body throb from pain and sink in an ocean of tiredness. “How were all your classes?” She sat motionless. “Ah come on it wasn't that bad, was it?”
Seomin snapped her neck towards Donghae, her eyes glowering. “I hate vocal exercises. Army crawling while singing scales!? And how am I supposed to learn two other languages now? I can’t stop thinking about that!”
“First week is always rough. Don’t worry too much about the language stuff. I’ll get him to cut it to one for now.” She gave him a grim smile before she drifted off to sleep. She felt like she had just closed her eyes when she felt herself topple out of the car. She groaned and looked up from the pavement to see Donghae laughing. Seomin glared at him, hoping that her eyes would bore some unsightly holes into his face. “Wake up sleepy head. We’re home.” He led her to the tall apartment, a sleek building made mainly of glass. Donghae swiped his card at the door and they rode the elevator to floor 17. “Your room is 2. I’ll be in room 3.”
When they arrived, Seomin realized her room was across from his. She opened the door and was shocked at the size of the apartment. Seomin couldn’t help but admire the finishes of the place. As she walked into the kitchen, she saw a card on the quartz countertops to Seomin. In neat printing, Donghae wrote:
