It’s Chen!

She felt happy, but that happiness was replaced by a heavy feeling. He was there with another woman.

Is that his girlfriend? But she’s older than him. Oh who am I to judge. What if he likes older women?

When she gets home she tells Yoonyi and Hanna what happened at the restaurant.

“Did you talk to him?!” asks Yoonyi.

“No.”

“Why not!? Have you forgotten that you like him?”

“I got a phone call from my boss at that exact time. I went to the powder room to pick it up, and when I went back to my table he was gone. I looked for him, but I couldn’t find him.”

“Ah~ Byul.” Both Yoonyi and Hanna say in unison.”

“But I asked the waiter if he knew him and he told me that he’s a VIP and goes to the restaurant often.”

“You did good!” says Yoonyi.

“But I left one thing out.” Byul continues, “He was there with a woman.”

“You see you should’ve given him a chance! Now he’s most likely married or has a girlfriend.” Says Yoonyi.

“Let’s not jump into conclusions. She could be anyone. Like his co-worker, sister, friend..” says Hanna.

“Yeah or girlfriend.” Interrupts Yoonyi.

“Yah! Yoonyi-ah.” Hanna yells, “How did they look? Did they look close? How did she look?”

“I only saw them for a few minutes, but they looked normal.”

“What do you mean normal?” asks Hanna.

“I don’t know!” Byul yells out.

“Well did it seem like they were out on a date?” asks Hanna.

“They seemed comfortable. They laughed at times, but it was one of those rich people laughs. You know.”

“Well regardless. It doesn’t hurt to say hi, besides what if she’s not his girlfriend. Go find out.” Says Hanna.

“Yeah she could be his fiancé.” Adds Yoonyi.

“Yoonyi.” Hanna says with clenched teeth.

“You have to go to the restaurant tomorrow. Make sure not to freeze this time.” Yoonyi says.

“Yes Byul you can do this. Hwaiting!”

On the phone:

“So what happened?” asks Hanna.

“I’ll tell you when I get home.”

Is he married?

Girlfriend?

What did he say?

Does he still like you?”

Yoonyi and Hanna were right on cue with the questions as if they pre-rehearsed them.

“Well I did see him, but I couldn’t go up to him.”

“WHAT!?” they both yell out.

“You have no idea how nervous I was! I haven’t seen him in so long. My heart was pounding like crazy. I started freezing up even before I stood up. I mean what am I supposed to say, huh?”

“Why don’t you try saying Hi!”

“You wanted us to push well we are pushing now!” Says Yoonyi determined, “You are gonna go to that restaurant everyday until you talk to him even if you go broke. It’s ok because if you two get married he’ll pay off your debt haha.”
