Can I Have This Dance? [Discontinued]
“Sorin-ah. Wake up!” a voice called,
“Mmh?” I opened my eyes and found myself lying on my bed in my new room,
I think I fell asleep while waiting for the guys in my room,
“Diner is ready. You should come down to eat’” Eunhyuk gently said,
“Okay” I sat up on my bed and rubbed my eyes, “Thanks Oppa, I’ll be there in 5 minute”
"Okay," then he left,
I looked at the clock; it was 10:43 PM. Diner? Now? I quickly went to the bathroom to see if I looked okay and went downstairs. When I walked in the living room, some guys were watching TV or just talking while others were getting the table ready. I greeted them, “You’re back!” I bowed,
“Hi, Sleeping beauty. Had a nice nap?” Heechul waved at me, I blushed,
“Hyung! You’re making her feel awkward!” Sungmin elbowed him,
Heechul ‘tss’-ed him and walked away.
“So, how do you like you’re room? Eunhyuk made us redo all the decoration,” Shindong asked me,
“Really? I’m sorry for bothering you…” I bowed,
“No it’s fine! We had pretty much fun redecorating it though, and it’s a good thing because we really didn’t want to live in this oh-so-ugly room Hangeng Hyung left!” Siwon laughed,
“Ah, thanks” I awkwardly smiled,
“DINER IS READY!” we heard Ryeowook’s voice echo from the kitchen, I quickly ran to him,
“Ryeowook-shi, is there anything I can help with?”
“No it’s fine!” he smiled, “Thanks”
“O-Okay,” I said.
Everyone came to the table. I sat between Eunhyuk and Donghae, the persons I was the closest with so far… and yet… I was quite uncomfortable next to Donghae… I looked at them as they were still talking and laughing about what happened today. Ryeowook came out with the last dish and everyone shouted, “I’LL EAT WELL!” then the food started to disappear REALLY quickly. My mouth dropped by seeing how the guys where eating… It almost looked gross…
Suddenly, Eunhyuk shoved a dumpling in my mouth, making me jump a little, “Oppa!” I chocked,
“Stop staring at the food and eat before there’s nothing left! You’re even skinnier than last time you Skyped me!” he said poking my forehead,
The other members nodded. Am I that skinny?
“Here. Eat this. It’s really good, I don’t make those often!” Ryeowook said, giving me a piece of meat,
“Thank you,” I bowed my head a little. I took the piece of meat with my chopsticks and brought it to my mouth. But my hand stopped midway when I noticed that all the guys were staring at me in anticipation. I looked at them… Why are they staring at me like that?
“Eat it,” Sungmin told me,
I slowly put the food in my mouth and chewed on it. He was right! It was really good! Not too spicy and yet quit sweet!
“Is it good?” Ryeowook asked, hope sparkling in his eyes,
I nodded, not wanting to speak while my mouth was full. His smile grew even bigger and everyone looked so enthusiastic. I even saw Siwon and Sungmin high-fiving.
“You should try this! It’s really good too!” Yesung said, giving me some vegetables,
Before I knew it, my bowl was overfilled with food that the boys gave me.
“T-Thank you,” I smiled,
The diner was really entertaining. We were done eating but we stayed at the table talking and Shindong was making jokes about Eunhyuk’s sleeping habits.
“Sorin-shi! Did you know your brother speaks in his sleep?” he asked,
“No, I didn’t,” I smiled,
“I roomed with him when we went to Thailand for a fan meeting. I was surfing on the net but he was already sleeping. Then suddenly I heard him say ‘Are you alone, lady?’” he imitated Eunhyuk,
Everyone laughed at this and my brother was blushing like crazy. They really like teasing him. I felt really good at this moment. I never had this kind of diner before. It was fun!
“Oh right! Sorin-ah! I was wondering… Wasn’t your hair longer this afternoon?” Eunhyuk asked,
I touched my hair, “Ah this? I just cut the extensions I had for the musical,” I laughed,
The room went silent. Why everybody stopped laughing?
Then, Donghae coughed, “Um… Sorin-shi! Why don’t you tell us about the U.S? Eunhyuk said you were in a really famous school! How did you get there?” he asked,
“Ah… Sure!” I replied, “When I was 13, my uncle’s friend was getting married and he was looking for dancers to make a show on his wedding ceremony. So my club volunteered and we danced ballet. But one of the guests was the president of Juilliard in New York” I started,
They all made “Ooh” and “Aah” and nodded their head.
“And what happened?” Yesung asked,
“Well, he came to see me after the wedding and gave me his phone number. He told me to ask my parents to call him” I said, “My Dad called him and he said he wanted me to go to his school. So he offered me the scholarship”
They went “Wah!” “Daebak!”
“You already graduated?” Kyuhyun asked,
I nodded, “I graduated 2 years ago”
“Really? Aish, I haven’t graduated from college yet!” he said pouting,
“What kind of dance do you do?” Sungmin asked,
“Mmh… I do a little bit of everything. Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Popping, Oriental dance…” I counted with my finger,
“Couple dance?” Siwon gave me a cheesy smile.
“Err…” I blushed,
“Hey! None of this with my sister okay?” Eunhyuk threatened,
“That’s so cool! I thought your brother was good but you’re even better!” Shindong said,
“Yah!” Eunhyuk hit his arm,
“The Sleeping Beauty is actually a Dancing Queen!” Heechul clapped his hands,
The questioning about my life in the U.S kept going for the next 2 hours and we ended up seating on the couch and the living room’s floor. Perhaps they got tired and decided to go to bed. I was still in New York time so I wasn’t really sleepy. Before I could walk upstairs, someone grabbed my shoulder. I turned around,
“Can I talk to you for a second?” Leeteuk said,
He was a bit backed off tonight so I was quite surprise that he’d ask to talk to me. We went to the balcony and sat on the little table. The warm wind of summer was blowing against my skin and gave me goose bumps.
“Is there something wrong Leeteuk-shi?” I asked,
He didn’t say anything for a moment before starting, “I’ll be honest with you. I didn’t really like the idea of you living with us,” he said,
Ow… That kind of hurts…
“It’s not that I don’t like you!” he quickly said so I won’t misunderstand him, “It’s just that… you know… we’re celebrities… Although we did have girls in our dorm before, it's still delicate. So if somehow the media finds out that a girl is living with 10 guys, even if the girl is a member’s sister, a lot of scandals will pop out. I don’t want this to happen, I really hate scandals,” he said. His words sounded rough and bitter,
He was right though. I once red an article about a female singer just hanging out with her male friend and it made a taboo on the Internet.
“I-I'm sorry to bother you like this,” I bowed a bit,
“I’ve been the leader of this band for more than 6 years now. And I’ve known some of the members for over 10 years, like your brother. We’ve been through a lot of hardship recently. I don’t want to add more pressure on the members. You know?”
I nodded.
“I don’t want you to get in troubles either. The media wouldn’t let you off and the fans would go crazy. You might be in danger,” he added,
“You want me to keep it as a secret?” I finally asked what he wanted,
“I know you’ve been through difficult things too lately,” he said. So that is why everyone went silent when I talked about the musical. Eunhyuk must have told them. “And I’m really sorry to ask you that. But can you please help me with this?” he pleaded,
Well… I didn’t want to put the boys in trouble. And since they let me live with them, this was the least I could do! Also, I don’t think it will be that hard. I’ll just have to be careful when I come home and when I go out.
“Of course” I agreed, “You’re willing to let me live here. And I’m really grateful to you by the way,” I said, “You guys have been really nice to me today. Thank you very much Leeteuk-shi” I got up and bowed to my waist,
He also got up and pulled me to sit down again, “C’mon! Don’t be so formal with us! We’re going to live in the same dorm now! Call us Oppa!” he flashed me his angelic smile,
I blushed, “O-Okay, Leeteuk-shi”
“Yah! What did I just say about the being formal thing?” he said,
“Sorry…”
There was an awkward silence. We just sat here, looking at the nigh sky. It looked different from New York, it was pure and we could see a lot more starts.
“Can I ask you a question?” I finally broke the silence,
“Mmh?” I looked at him. His eyes were closed,
“Is it hard to be an idol?” I asked,
“Why are you asking this?”
“I was just wondering. You guys are constantly busy with schedules and you even have to eat diner at 11PM,” I said,
“Today was fine though…”
My eyes widened, “Huh?”
“We’re just preparing our comeback. During the promotion, our schedules will go crazy and we might eat diner at this time!”
And it was freaking 2AM!
“Oh my God! It must be really hard!”
“I’d lie if I said that we’re good with it and that it’s not hard. But we kind of got used to it,” he sighed,
Eunhyuk must feel like this too. I was really worried about him working too much. I remember how exhausted he was when he came back home really late at night after practice, during his trainee days. They might look happy and healthy on TV but they are actually really tired.
“It’s getting late! We should go in,” Leeteuk said, bringing me back to Earth,
We went upstairs and he walked to his room, “Good night Sorin-ah,” he smiled, “And thank you”
“Good night, Leeteuk-Oppa”
I wish I were Sorin right now! Being able so have diner with all the members must be AZEJN@%KJJQ#9 great!!!
