Can I Have This Dance? [Discontinued]
It’s been almost a week since I work in SM. I signed the contract after discussing it with Hyuk and Kyuhyun (who seems to know a lot about laws by the way).
Anyway… For the past few days, Yun and I have been practicing for my first schedule: back up dancing for BoA on a live fan meeting showcase! Yay!
But the fun is limited when you’re in the same group as Kwon Minhwa. Since she and I had the same manager – because Minhee only manages us two and not the whole group as I though –, I had to stay with her all time…
“5! 6! 7! 8!” she counted,
We were dancing to ‘Girls on top’ and Minhwa was leading the group. Yeah… Because she was the one with the most “experience”, she was chosen by the choreographer to lead us during all rehearsals, and it was pretty obvious that she had something wrong with me,
“Stop! This is super wrong! Hey rookie!” she called me, “Focus a little bit! I know it’s hard for you but you look like a monkey and we’re not in some random zoo here!”
Just where did I hear this before?
“Let’s start over again!” she clapped her hands,
We danced again and again and again… And she wasn’t doing anything. She was just sitting on the bench, admiring her nails and not even looking at us. But even without paying attention, she stille found a way to criticize,
“Your foot! To the left! No!” she kept going,
I was burning inside. Usually I’m a reserved person around other people, even if I’m close to them. But it’s because if my not-so-shy side happens to come out, it’s not good for anyone. I can be really, REALLY mean. So I keep my anger for myself.
“Okay! Enough!” Minhwa cut the music and sat on the floor, “Looking after you idiots is so tiring,”
Everyone else was sweating and panting like crazy, and you say you're tired?
“That’s it for today! You’re dismissed,” she said and was the first to leave,
“God, please make sure she gets pimples all over her face the day of the showcase!” Yun crossed her hands in a praying motion,
“You’re so mean,” I laughed, even though I really wanted it to happen,
“Looking after you guys is so tiring,” she imitated Minhwa, “Tiring my ! She was staring at her selfreflection all the time!”
“Well there’s nothing we can do about it,” I shrugged, packing my stuff to go home,
“We should report her to Minhee Unni,” she said,
“Because you didn’t do it already?” I chuckled,
She paused, “Okay we did,”
“And?”
“Failed…” Yun sighed,
“See? There’s nothing we can do about it. She’s a great dancer! They can’t fire her,”
“I know…” she sighed and slung her bag on her shoulder, “You’re ready?”
“Yeah,” I replied and we left.
We walked together to the bus station and separated our ways. When I got back home, the boys were already here to my surprise,
“Why are you guys back to early?” I looked at my watch, “It’s only 9:00PM!”
“Our schedule got canceled in the last minute,” Leeteuk said,
“How was your day?” Kyuhyun asked, coming out of his room,
“Nothing special, just practicing for the showcase,” I shrugged,
“Here, drink this,” Sungmin threw me a can of soda,
“Thanks Oppa,” I grabbed the can and went upstairs,
After showering and changing into pajamas, I went down to help Wookie with diner,
“Sorin-ah, when are you going to dance with us?” Ryeowook asked while cutting a cucumber,
“Mmh… I don’t know. After BoA Sunbae’s showcase I have another performance for 4minute,” I said,
“Aw…” he pouted, “I’ll have to ask Minhee Noona to have you with us!” Ryeowook said,
“Noona?” I asked,
“Yeah! Noona! She is… Uhm… about 31!” he said,
“31?”, my eyes widened. Ryeowook nodded,
She looks so much younger! I thought she was like 25 or something!
“She’s even older than Teukie Oppa!” I exclaimed,
“Hey! I heard that!” Leeteuk yelled,
“That’s what I thought too when I first met her,” Ryeowook said,
“I need to ask her what lotion she uses to get some for Teukie Oppa,” I murmured,
“I head that too!” Leeteuk came out of nowhere, making me jump in surprise,
“OH MY GOD! Do you want me to have a heart attack? I’m holding a knife!” I said, showing him the huge knife in my hand,
“What’s wrong with my age? I’m not even 30 yet!” Leeteuk scolded,
“Oppa is the youngest!” I said cutely,
“Whatever,” Leeteuk looked away,
Haha! No one can resist to Aegyo!
We finished cooking diner and got the table ready. As we were in the middle of eating, Donghae came and sat next to me,
“Sorin-ah,” he started,
“Mmh?” I chewed on my food, waiting for him to speak
“I heard you work with Minhwa now, since you girls have the same manager,”
“Yeah…”
“So you guys pretty much stick together, right?”
“Mmh… Yeah,”
“Great! So you can help me with this,” he said,
“With what?” I looked at him, taking a slip of my soda,
“Can you help me to date Minhwa?” he whispered,
After hearing his request, I was so surprised that I spit all the liquid that was in my mouth on his face,
“Oh my God! I’m so sorry!” I apologized, taking some tissue to wipe his face. The other members burst in laugher and were rolling on the floor, holding their tummy,
“It’s fine, it’s fine,” he reassured me,
“I’m so sorry! But, you just asked all of the sudden, I really didn’t expect that!” I said,
“Don’t worry,” he smiled, although his hair was all stingy do to the sugar,
This guy is no nice!
“So can you help me?” he asked again,
“How?”
“I’ve known her for some years now, but I never had the guts to ask her out,” he said, “Or I really don’t know how… Do you think she’d like me? I mean… Do you think she’d agree?”
“I-I don’t know Oppa, I never really talked to her,”
“I know it’s a lot to ask you this, but can you help me to find out how to ask her out?” he said, “I never asked a girl to date… It’s usually girls who come to me,”
“I-I’m not really good at this…”
“Can you be my love teacher?”
“Huh?”
“C’mon! Sorin-ah! You’re the only one who can help me! Pweeeease,” he gave me his puppy eyes,
Yeah… Like I said… No one can resist to Aegyo…
“I’ll see what I can do…” I finally agreed, “But…”
“But?”
I just don’t think she’s good for you Oppa… But whatever…
“Nothing,”
“Thank you so much Sorin-ah! I owe you one!” he said and went back to eat,
That’s how I ended up playing teacher again. But this time it was not for dancing… But love… LOVE… I have as much experience as an unborn child! How was I going to do?
I finished eating, totally immerged in my thoughts. It was still a bit early to go to sleep so I went to sit on the balcony for a while. I closed my eyes and thought about what to do…
“Why did I agree to help him?” I sighed,
“Help who?” a voice came,
“Oh, Leeteuk Oppa,”
“What’s going on?”
“Uhm… Nothing much,”
“Then what is bothering you so much?”
“I… Err… Don’t know if I can talk about it…”
“C’mon spit it out. It’s not like it’s to difficult, judging from what happened to Donghae earlier,” he joked,
“Aigoo…” I sighed, seeing the whole scene playing again in my head,
“C’mon,” he insisted,
“Okay… Let’s say that a friend of mine, a guy, just asked me to help him to date a girl who works with me. But I know absolutely nothing about how to ask someone out,” I explained,
“So you’re saying that Donghae wants you to help him get with Kwon Minhwa?” he said,
My eyes widened, “How did you know?”
“I know everything,” he smiled, “Well… I knew he has a crush on her since a while, and since she’s your partner. I just guessed” he said,
“So?”
“I think you should help him! It’s true that you’re the one most adapted to do so. You guys have the same manager so you are constantly together,”
“Okay. But I don’t really know both of them…”
“You can deal with Minhwa at work, that’s not a problem. About Donghae… Uhm… Maybe you should go on a date with him!” Leeteuk snapped his fingers,
“WHAT?”
“Yeah! If you go on a date with him, you’ll know how he acts toward his girlfriend and so you will be able to describe him to Minhwa!”
“I’m not sure…”
“Think about it! You’ll get to know Donghae better and about couples too!”
What he was saying made sense though… Maybe we should go on a date…
Aish… What did I put myself into?
