Yuri’s POV

I took a step back when I caught his presence on the kitchen preparing something for him to feed his tummy. He didn’t even bother to see the dish I had prepared this morning causing a frown to be seen on my face, insensibly. Eversince the small incident last night, he began to act different and it upset me to see him acting cold towards me.

Yes, last night I had a chance meeting someone from my past. It took me for awhile just to recognize the figure I used to met regularly. It soon turned out to be my childhood sweetheart, Lee Howon or simply called Hoya. We used to be together for half a year, before his parent dragged him away to Seoul for his better education and so, that was the end of our short story. I always thought it wasn’t love at the moment, more likely a casual fling between a boy and a girl, who had no idea of what was they doing at the age of fifteen. It reminded me of how silly and innocent I could be when I was young. He didn’t seem to change even for a bit, except for his well built body. Judged from his appearance he might hit the gym regularly.

And as coincidence as our meeting, it is also revealed that he stay on the same floor as Tao’s apartment. His bubbly and warm personality never once changed, something I adored the most when he confessed to me the past eight years ago.

“ I had prepared meals for you to eat…” I pluck up my courage to speak.

He reacted to my statement by stopped himself from stirring the pan. I had anticipated his reply but there was no words came out from his lips. I formed a disappointment looks upon my face soon after.

“ If you don’t like it, at least give me an answer…”

Again, I shouted at him, considering the distance between us and not to mention had him acknowledge my presence. Still there wasn’t any proper feedback as he didn’t seem to mind of me shouting out loud, instead of replying my statement. I heaved a sigh, when I began to take a few steps forward approaching him.

            “ Yah, I’m talking to you! “

This time, I brace myself to front him directly. He was busy finished his suppose-to-be ramyeon before startled after hearing my loud greet. His silent treatment was really bothering me and there was no way I could deal with it. He stopped himself, and as I had anticipated, he turned around to face me. His fierce and cold gaze encountered my eyes like a sword. I stunned for a brief moment, trying to get control my facial expression from showing much words for him to read.

“ Why don’t you go and ask him to eat your meals? He must be over the moon if you doing so…” He said with such a distinct voice. I was taken aback with his remark and began to widen my eyes in the process.

“ What are you talking about? “ I asked him back confusedly.

I caught him smirked his lips, before shifting his eyes back to me.

“ Well, you understand it very well, Yuri…”

            I rolled my eyes annoyed.

“ Oh, Gosh, he’s just my friend, and meeting a friend is legal in this country. What’s your point by stating such unreasonable statement? Besides, I had introduced him to you, last night. You know that…“

I folded my arms disbelief. His chuckle sound breaking the awkward silence between us. Sometimes, I had no idea how to communicate with him, not because of the lack language but because he had a different way to speaking his mind.

He opened his mouth, but no words escaped. I stared at him intensely, watching his facial expression softened but still refused to take off his fierce gazes.

“ I demand an apologize from you…” Sensing that he wouldn’t be returning my bombarded question anytime soon, I began to let my courage to take over. I blurted out, causing him to direct his attention back towards me. My hands were placed naturally on my waist, as I throw him such annoyed looks. But, instead of gave me apologize as I had asked him, he just walked past me with the bowl in his hand.

“ Yah! That’s rude! “ I shouted the moment my sense went back to its place.

***

I leaned my back to the comfy couch, as my hand naturally hugging the cushion. I had yawned for numerous times already, since he left me alone for two hours with only a television to expelled my boredom. I pressed the button for million times, but I couldn’t even stay on one channel for more than five minutes –commercial didn’t count. This was really frustrating, he said he will be back soon and accompany me to walk around Seoul city but then, that was just a word. I was left alone without something to entertain me.

I exhaled tiredly, directing my gaze into the ceiling as I rested my mind for a brief moment. I couldn’t just stay here for a whole day. I need to go outside and breathed in the famous air of Seoul, though it might not be as good as Jecheon.

After the fierce battle inside my mind, I finally decided to give my heart a chance by granting it wish. I put on my slipper and twisting the doorknob as it ended up with me being outside. A slight curve of smile plastered on my lips.

This place might be new to me, but I had a good sense of direction that helped me landing safely on the hall in the first floor. I settled my gaze into the surrounding –people passed by, but they didn’t give a damn of my presence. They seemed pretty busy with their own business, and wouldn’t want to let go of their gadget even for second. I had seen this kind of view from the drama I watched back then.

I fastened my pace and exited myself from the big building. I watched the same environment welcoming me. It was 11 am already, when I’m standing on the sideway and spread my sight to everywhere around. My eyes gleamed in joy when I caught a place I had been wanted to visit so badly. I swung my feet freely into the nearby playground. There was bunch of people, mostly parent with their kids, but I could also spot some old couple seated on the bench while giggling happily. A smile captured on my lips after seeing the whole scenery. I seated myself on the empty bench in front of a sandbox where some kids were playing happily.

“ Kim Tae Woo, look what mommy have here…”

Before me, a young and beautiful mother was playing with her son. The sight of them caused some memories to flash inside of me. It was really great, having a mother to look for you and play with you despite you had a hard day to deal with. I had no idea of how much time did I waste to watch the mom and her two years old son in front of me. The woman smiled at me as she acknowledged my gaze, as I hurriedly gave her such an awkward smile in return. They made their way approaching me.

“ Hey! “ The woman greeted me kindly.

            “ Hey… “ I replied to her greet, feeling a bit uneasy.

“ I’m Kim Sunny… “ She extended her arms out towards me, I gladly took it in return politely.

“ Yuri, Kwon Yuri…” Instead of giving her my recent last name, I decided to give her my real birth name. She replied back with a slight curve of smile plastered on her beautiful face.

“ I haven’t seen you around here before, are you new? “ She politely asked me. I nodded before gave her an answer.

“ Yeah… I’m living on the apartment right there…” I pointed toward the big building across the place.

“ Really? Me too… Which floor are you in? “

I bit my lips in hesitate, I barely know this woman and telling her about my place was kind of risky –not that I don’t believe her though. She turned her vision back to her adorable son for a while. Her son watched me with such round eyes I couldn’t help but pinched his chubby cheek from the sight.

            “ I’m on the eight floor…”

“ Oh, I’m on the eleventh floor number three from the elevator. You can come and visit me if you had a free time, though…”

“ Yeah… Of course…” I replied shortly. Soon, we played along with her cute and adorable son I couldn’t help but liking him from the first meeting. Sunny is a good companion, despite me being alone and bored. From her story, I had known half of her life alrea
