Careless Whisper
“I feel so unsure as I take your hand and lead you to the dance floor. As the music dies something in me rise.”
The television in Hankyung’s hotel room sang out a familiar tune as he touched up his hair in the mirror. He’d decided to put his conflicted feelings aside and try to enjoy himself tonight. A new movie and a Heechul surprise, what could be better? Even he could here the sarcasm coating that statement.
“Calls to mind a silver screen and its sad goodbyes.”
A soft knock at his door drew him away from his thoughts. Siwon was here.
“You’re going to love this one,” Siwon piped, eagerly entering the room. “It’s in 3D.”
“That’s a new one.’ Hankyung laughed. “So, it’s like the killer’s in the room.”
“I’m never going to dance again this guilty fear’s got no rhythm.”
Siwon laughed and removed a pair of 3D glasses from the DVD package. He took a minute to study the odd red and blue tented lenses before placing them upon Hankyung’s face.
“Though it’s easy to pretend I know you’re not a fool.”
“Stunning,” Siwon smiled, leaning in for a quick kiss, but he was interrupted when Hankyung reached up to adjust his glasses. “Is there something wrong?”
“I should of known better than to cheat a friend and waste this chance that I’ve been given.”
“No,” He answered trying to focus on Siwon’s face. “These glasses do make your hair look likes it’s alive, though.”
Siwon laughed unexpectedly and ruffled Hankyung’s hair.
“Let’s watch the movie.”
“So, I’m never going to dance again the way I danced with you….,”
They finally settled in to watch the movie. Well, that had been the plan at least. As soon as the opening credits began, things got a little distracting.
“I thought we were going to watch the movie?” Hankyung sighed as Swion began to plant tiny butterfly kisses down his neck.
“I’m watching it.”
“You’re not even looking at the screen.”
“I found something more interesting to look at. Besides, you know it’s never about watching the movie.”
“I really do want to watch this.”
“What is going on with you tonight?” Siwon questioned, removing his 3D glasses and forcing Hankyung to look at him.
“I’m sorry…,’ Hankyung began. But just as with Heechul, he didn’t know what to say. “It’s just…,”
“Fine, we’ll just watch the movie, if that’s what you want.” There was a touch of sadness to Siwon’s face as he put his glasses back on and looked at the screen.
This wasn’t what Hankyung wanted either. He didn’t know how to explain it, but it was as if their relationship had changed. Well, if they were in a relationship that is. Maybe that was it?
“Hey Siwon,” Hankyung sighed placing his hand on Swion's cheek and turning his face away from the screen. “I’m sorry. It’s just I’m having trouble figuring out what exactly this is.”
Siwon looked puzzled a moment then his face softened as he began to speak.
“This,” he began, making a sweeping motion with his hands “Is us having fun. It’s not that complicated.”
That was the response Hankyung was expecting. Everything with Siwon was about fun. Was that really what this was about? In the beginning maybe, but now he wasn’t so sure. Things were just too complicated these days. Why did he have to make things so difficult with this new found wanting he had? It wasn’t enough anymore to just have fun. His fun had got him into two complicated situations with two different men. It could only end badly. What could Hankyung do, but ignore this stupid wanting and try to get back to actually having fun.
“You’re right.” Hankyung finally agreed. “I’m just strung out from the long bus ride, I guess.” He leaned in slowly and rested his forehead again Siwon’s. “It’s not fair to spoil your fun with my whiney troubles.” Hankyung finished kissing him deeply.
Needless to say, the movie was long forgotten.
