Don't go

Careless Whisper

Hankyung was headed home. He knew deep within his heart that this was not the right thing to do, but his head told him otherwise. With him gone, Heechul could move on with his life and the band could be peaceful again. It didn’t matter that he didn’t really have a plan for what to do next.

Surely, he could find some kind of job to occupy the rest of his life. Maybe he’d join a different band? He’d probably end up breaking them apart too. The worst part was trying to explain to his mother why he suddenly decided to move back home. This wasn’t the type of situation one usually has to explain to their mother.

Hankyung pressed his forehead against the glass of the plain’s  window and sighed. This felt wrong, leaving. Leeteuk and Siwon had begged him not to do this, but they weren’t the ones who could have stopped him. If only Heechul would have come after him, then he would have never gotten on the plain. He wouldn’t have had to say a word, just stand in the terminal. That would have been enough.

Who was Hankyung kidding? Heechul wasn’t coming after him. Hankyung could get hit by the train for all Heechul cared. He’d broken the man’s heart and it seemed nothing could piece it back together. No matter how much he’d begged and pleaded, Heechul didn’t have it in him to forgive him.

The plain landed at Incheon for an exchange, slowly parking at the gate. Hankyung rose from his seat. Just one more stop and he’d be headed out of Seoul for good. This city had been his home for so long; he didn’t know how he was going to feel without it. Right now, his heart was breaking. With a deep courageous breath, Hankyung stepped out of plain and exited the gate into the main airport.
To his surprise there was a very familiar face waiting for him on the other side of the security check.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Eunhyuk questioned, stepping in Hankyung’s path. “I get this frantic phone call from Siwon to drive all the way out here and I don’t even know why I’m stopping you.”

“Good, keep it that way.” Hankyung answered, side stepping around him.

“No, I may not understand what’s going on right now, but I’m under strict orders to stop you.”

“It’s for everyone’s own good that I leave. Now, move out of the way Hyukjae.”

“I can’t do that.” Eunhyuk answered, moving back into Hankyung’s path. “You’re either supposed to come back with me or wait until the others get here. Which will it be?”

“None of the above,” Hankyung stated, pushing Eunhyuk out of the way. “I have to leave.”

“No, you have to at least wait until Heechul gets here…,” Eunhyuk objected. This statement caught Hankyung by surprise.

   “Wait, what did you say?”

“Siwon said that Heechul left before they did and might be here first. He also said something about him being slow and not showing up in time at the Gimpo so he might be late…,”

“He showed up at the Gimpo?”

  “Apparently,”

Hankyung dropped down on the nearest bench. Heechul had come to stop him after all. It didn’t matter that he’d missed him. The fact still remained that he’d tried and was on his way here at this very moment. That’s all it took. Hankyung couldn’t leave now. Heechul still cared about him, or at the very least he cared about keeping the band together. He’d know the real reason he came when Heechul got here.

“Ok,’ Hankyung sighed. “I’ll wait to talk to Heechul.”

“Oh, good,” Eunhyuk answered, sitting down next to him. “Now, could you explain to me what’s going on?” Hankyung just smiled.

“Thank God!” Leeteuk exclaimed, running towards Hankyung and giving him a crushing hug. “You’re still here.”

   “Hyung, can’t breathe…,”

  “Oh, sorry…,”

“What were you trying to do?” Siwon questioned, ruffling Hankyung’s hair. “You almost gave us all a heart attack, leaving like that.”

“I thought it’d be the best thing to do at the time.” Hankyung answered guiltily. “I thought you guys would be happier without me.”

“Never,” Leeteuk answered. “Super Junior isn’t Super Junior without Hankyung.”

“Thanks guys..,” Hankyung smiled, rising to his feet. “But, my plain leaves soon...,"

“Wait,” Leeteuk interrupted as they all headed for the exit. “Where’s Heechul? I thought he’d be here by now?”

************************************************************************************************************************************************

Heechul unlocked the front door to his apartment and for the second time that day flopped down on the sofa. He’d made it halfway across town before he realized what he was doing. Running after Hankyung like that was stupid. If he really wanted to leave, then why stop him? Who was he to keep Hankyung from doing what he wanted?

Hankyung would be happier now anyway. It was tearing everyone apart, all the fighting. Even if he tried to tell Hankyung how he was feeling and began to forgive him, there was no telling how things would end up. But…, what if things could be good again?

They haven’t even tried to make-up yet. Heechul was too busy being stubborn, he knew that. It still didn’t excuse Hankyung’s whiney whoa as me attitude. They were both at fault in one way or another. Maybe he should give Hankyung a second chance?

“No,” Heechul sighed, looking towards the phone on the kitchen wall. “He doesn’t deserve it. All he’s done is beg and plead and…., suffer…,”

Heechul’s eyes filled with hot tears as he began to think about all the pain Hankyung must have been going through. They had both suffered the last few weeks. It wasn’t until now that Heechul realized why he’d been so miserable.

“Yes, I was mad about what he did.” Heechul stated, rising to his feet and heading into the kitchen. “But, the reason I hurt so bad was that I missed my Hannie.”

With tremendous effort, Heechul removed the phone from the wall and dialed Hankyung’s cell number. It rang only once before switching over to voice mail. “You’ve reached Hankyung. Leave a message at the beep and I Might decide to call you back.” BEEEP!  Heechul took a deep breath and began to speak.
