Grandma Lee's Last Message
At A Crossroad"Pissaanrilnga (Don't try anything with me)," Grandma Lee sternly said.
"Pinilliniuten (So, you're strong)," Jiyong answered.
Jiyong came out of the room looking tired. He was shocked to see Taeil standing there.
"You can talk to her like that?" Taeil asked.
Jiyong's eyes widened.
He was hiding something.
"What's wrong?" Taeil asked again.
"Kituuciitavnga (Don't you know who I am)?" Jiyong asked.
Taeil's eyes widened in surprise.
Jiyong was the bird. He was a shaman.
"Why, Jiyong?" was all Taeil could say.
"My biological father was a shaman. And my grandfather before him," Jiyong answered. "I didn't have a choice."
Taeil couldn't answer.
Jiyong, without a word, turned and went, never looking back.
"I loved you, Jiyong," Taeil whispered.
Jiyong didn't turn back. After that, when Taeil returned, Jiyong was nowhere to be found. He had moved away with his adoptive parents.
-----
Before Grandma Lee died, she gave Taeil one last piece of advice.
"No matter what evil tries to get to you, always remember that God's power is much stronger than anything that comes your way. I love you, my Taeil."
