You're awake?

Sanha sat up in her bed looking at the blank television screen across the room. The remote for it was sitting on top of it, almost mocking her that she couldn't get out of bed to grab it. When she lifted her hand to pull the blankets off of her there was a stinging sensation running up her hand. The IV had been pulled out a little and blood trickled down her hand. With a heavy sigh Sanha pushed a button to call for the nurse. The woman who came in seemed familiar to Sanha but in her sleep deprived state of mind she couldn't really tell.

"What do you want?" The nurse asked standing at the edge of Sanha's bed, glaring at her as if doing her job was bothersome. Sanha lifted her hand a little to show that the IV had moved and the nurse growled. She grabbed Sanha's arm roughly and just pushed the IV back in. Sanha yelped in pain and the nurse slapped her on the leg. "Oh don't be such a baby." The nurse turned to leave until Sanha politely asked for her to pass the remote for the television since she had to walk right past it to leave the room. "What? Do I look like your servant? You're strong enough to get it yourself." The nurse barked back and stormed out of the room leaving Sanha a little scared. The IV tugged and moved as she lifted herself out of bed and shuffled over to the television to grab the remote. By the time she had made it back to her bed the doctors had come to start her treatment.

"Miss Seo, did you rest well?" The elderly doctor asked and Sanha just looked at him with her empty eyes that had deep, bags hanging under them. He let out a little embarrassed chuckle and looked at the clip board that he had tucked under his arm. "So today is your first chemotherapy treatment?"

"You're the doctor...you should know." Sanha shot back and instantly regretted it. She didn't want to be rude when all these people were trying to do was to make her healthy again, but she couldn't help herself. She was tired, sad and wanted to go back home.

"Yes, I suppose I shouldn't ask silly questions like that. My apologies." A nurse came in behind the doctor, wheeling in a wheel chair. She took the IV out of her arm and helped Sanha into in. Truthfully Sanha could have walked like the rest of them, but she didn't feel like fighting with the staff this time. If they wanted to push her around in a wheel chair, who was she to argue. They wheeled her down the hallways and into the elevator. As they passed all of the people to get to the treatment room, Sanha couldn't help but to feel like a freak. Everyone was staring at her as if they knew exactly what was going on with her. It were almost as if they were secretly happy that they weren't as sick as her. 'I have to get my kidney taken out, but thank God I'm not like that girl with lung cancer!' there were thinking. Sanha hid her face and closed her eyes tightly trying to ignore the people around her.

The room they brought her too looked almost like her other room, but with more equipment sitting beside the bed. They sat her up on the bed and started to attach a large needle into her arm. It was attached to a large baggy filled with acid looking liquids that with the twist of a knob, was slowly dripping into her body. Time passed slowly as the bag slowly emptied into her. All Sanha wanted was her phone so she could try and call Daehyun. He was all that had been on her mind all night long. She wanted to watch television to see if she could possible find an old performance of theirs. All she wanted was to hear his voice and know that everything was going to be okay. When it was finally done and the needle was pulled out of her arm, she felt the skin around the injection point burn. Her whole body felt heavy and useless as she tried to stand up from the bed but they forced her to stay still. She didn't understand why until she could feel the contents of her stomach slowly coming up . The nurses passed her a bucket as Sanha released all of her breakfast. It wasn't a pretty sight and it brought tears to Sanha's eyes, but she had read online that this was normal. That as treatment continued she would be able to go longer and longer without being sick.

The evil nurse rolled Sanha back to her room and almost threw her into her bed. Sanha couldn't fight back as she was too weak and tired. It felt like someone had drugged her. The room was blurring and her veins were on fire as chemicals raced through her body. She couldn't stay awake any longer and drifted asleep. Her dream was a weird mishmash of memories that blurred into one another making it hard to really tell one from another or if it had really happened or not. Holding hands with Daehyun. Seeing her brother debut. Her first date with Daehyun. Spending time with Ilhoon. All of it seemed unreal to Sanha as she watched the float around in her head. She couldn't tell if this was a normal dream or if it were some monstrous creation due to the drugs. When she finally opened her eyes the room was a deep orange as the sun started to set. Sanha looked to the clock hanging on the wall and saw that she had been asleep for most of the day and yet she still somehow felt exhausted. She looked to the window and saw a vase of white lilies sitting in the sun light. They hadn't been there before and Sanha looked around to see if she were in the right room.

"Oh, you're finally awake!" A voice said from the door and when Sanha snapped her head around to see who it was a huge smile spread across her face.
