Author's Note

Hello, long time no see!~ Wow, I didn't realize how long it's been since I've updated. Once I got on to Asianfanfics, the formatting when writing is totally different now... I'm super duper sorry for not updating, high school is just a drag and I'm hardly in a mood to udpate. This story was finished a long time ago but it got deleted so I had to start over = 3 =... Anyways, enjoy the update! (Summer has started, I'll try to write as much as I can.)

  Characters: Nicole & Jonghyun (SHINEE) ft. Key  

           Today was horrible. His head hurt. His throat burned. Worst of all, it was their anniversary.

Here he was, lying in bed with a fever while s were at their schedules. He managed to clear all possible schedules for today ahead of time just for her, but what was the point of it now?

Kim Jonghyun, you are now absolutely hopeless.

He couldn’t help but scold himself, if only yesterday he didn’t stay up all night trying to prepare her anniversary present. The day he worked hard to get a day off for her, was now used for him to rest. Luckily, s found out he was sick since they woke up at 5 A.M. and informed her ahead of time.

“She said it’s ok, just get hurry and get better.”

He remembered Key, and one of her best friends, passing on the message she said before leaving for his own schedule.

Ding Dong

He let out a groan once the sound of the front door bell going off. It was probably Taemin, who forgot to get his phone or something. Clumsily, Jonghyun got up from his warm bed and made his way into the hallway to the front door. He should’ve checked the peep hole just for safety, in case of saesang fans, but being sick he didn’t care anymore. His hand wrapped around the knob and twisted it as he pulled it open.

“Yah, Tae—”

He quickly snapped his mouth shut once spotting the person.

“W-what are you doing here?!”

That was the only thing that came out of his mouth and it isn’t exactly the best. He wanted to punch himself so hard right now.  

Jonghyun noticed the way her lips formed into a small pout and eyebrows furrow together in disappointment with his reaction. Her chocolate brown eyes sparkled like a puppy's. She was just plain cute.

“Is that really the first thing you should say to me?”

Baffled, he couldn’t help but stutter, “A-aniyo, it’s just that w-why are you here?”

“To take care of you, of course!” she cheerfully stated, showing the bags in her hands, most likely containing food and medicine.

“N-Nicole, it’s ok really. Shouldn’t you be at your schedules?” Jonghyun made an effort to stall as much time he needed to think of ways to get her to not come in the house.

“Remember I cancelled it a long time ago, silly. Now move out of the way.”

In just a split second, the short female pushed her way through her buff boyfriend and went inside the dorm. Now he had to think of ways to get her out of the house, but how?

She’s Jung Nicole. The most stubborn person he knew and most importantly, his girlfriend.

He watched her set the bags on the kitchen table and turn around to be faced towards him. That’s when he knew to give up. The glint in her eyes just told him. Kim Jonghyun is now letting her girlfriend see the most pathetic side of him, today, their anniversary day. Oh the joy!~

“Now you,” she pointed abruptly, shocking him, “go to bed and rest.”

Before he could argue, the petite female pushed him into his room and closed the door in front of his face. Still in a state of shock, Jonghyun heard her footsteps growing fainter. He took this chance to slowly open the door again and stick his head in the hallway.

“Yah!” he heard her voice once he was hit in the face with a pillow. “I told you to go to sleep!”

“But I don’t want to,” Jonghyun whined like a little kid, but no one can blame him. It’s hard to sleep when your girlfriend is in your house, especially if it’s just the two of them.

His eyes watched the way her brown hair was flowing in the air as she ran to him. Jonghyun felt her arms wrap around his waist as she tried her best to push him to his bed. He didn’t try to resist, instead he actually liked feeling her warmth around his body. She “dragged” him towards the bed, pushing him down to sit on the mattress. Jonghyun looked up at her girlfriend, who seemed concentrated in putting him to sleep. Nicole then pushed his shoulders down, miraculously placing him in bed. Squatting down to his eye level, she angelically smiled at him, melting his heart.

“Now go to sleep please,” she said with aegyo, something very rare from her.

Unable to do anything, Jonghyun gave in and closed his eyes. He heard her say “good” before closing the door. What am I going to do? Jonghyun thought. That was the last question he asked himself before drifting off to deep sleep.

“Oppa, it’s time to eat lunch.”

The female walked over to the twin bed and shook her boyfriend’s shoulder. With no reaction from the male, Nicole shook harder.

“Yah, Oppa wake up!” she semi-yelled at him.

“Hmmm…” Jonghyun stirred in his sleep.

His eyelids fluttered open as he shifted his body towards Nicole’s direction. Taking a glimpse at her, Jonghyun tried to pull his covers over his head but was quickly stopped by Nicole.

“Yah, Oppa,” Nicole whined, “you really have to eat lunch.”

A groan was heard from under the covers when the male slowly got up. He still had a bit of his conscious to make try to preserve as much of his pride as possible. Removing the covers off his head, he slowly got up and stumbled a little. Nicole bit the inside of her cheeks to surpass the giggle due to the fact Jonghyun looked somewhat drunk.

"Here, let me help you," she said, grabbing his arm.

The two walked down the hallway and into the kitchen. After placing him on the seat next to the table, Nicole took a bowl and spoon out of the covers. She scooped porridge into the bowl and placed it in front of Jonghyun. Spoon in his hand, Nicole sat next to him and stared.

"Eat up!~" she happily said.

The male didn't eat it nor dipped the spoon into the porridge, instead he looked at his girlfriend.

"Bwoh?" Nicole asked, confused to why he was staring at her like that.

"Feed me."

Yep, his sanity has finally obliterated. Good-bye pride.

Staring blankly at him, Nicole had to take a moment to everything in. This was the first time she had ever seen him act this way-it was quite adorable.

I'll definitely remember this, Nicole slightly grinned.

Taking the spoon, she took a scoop out rice soup and held it near Jonghyun's mouth.

"Ah~" Nicole awed.

In no time, Jonghyun opened his mouth and ate the soup deliciously. Naturally, Nicole took another spoonful and held it in front of his mouth again. In a few minutes, Jonghyun emptied the bowl.

"Now that you're done, you could go back to bed and rest," she said with a small smile.

Nicole got up from her seat and cleaned up the table. After placing the used utensils into the sink, she placed an apron over her to wash the dishes. The female was quietly cleaning the dishes until she felt something wrap around her waist.

Clack Clack

"Yah Oppa, what are you doing!?!"

She stared at the male who's chocolate brown eyes stared into her's innocently. Jonghyun had latched his arms around her, surprising her which ended up dropping the plate from her hand.

"It's so lonely," Jonghyun whined softly into her ears.

Her face began to heat up as his voice sent chills down her spine.

Is this actually happening? Nicole questioned, finding herself unable to come up with a response.

He was never one to express his true feelings. It was always the manly, tough guy appearance. Though Jonghyun is sweet, Nicole could never get him to do cute things in front of her.

"J-just go to bed for now, I'll be right there," Nicole said.

"No, come with me."

Nicole bit her lip, not knowing what to do. He was sick, she can't get mad at him. Key had already warn her that Jonghyun could sometimes be childish. I didn't think he would actually act like this, Nicole thought.

Giving up, she took off the apron with Jonghyun still on her (props man). She helped him walk to the bedroom and laid Jonghyun comfortably on top of his bed.

"Have a good nap, ok?"

Just when Nicole turned to leave the room, he caught her by the wrist and dragged her down. Now resting near his chest, Nicole's eyes widened in shock. She was able to hear the faint sound of his heartbeat against her ear. Squirming in his arms, Nicole tried to get herself out of the position while her face continued to grow redder and redder.

"Stop it..." Jonghyun whispered. "Let's stay like this."

"Are you crazy!?!" Nicole practically yelled. "I still have to wash the dishes."

"Just let the members do it."

"I-I don't want to get sick too," Nicole argued, trying to come up with any many reasons to get her out of his grip.

Jonghyun extended his arms so their eyes could meet. Nicole could feel her heart skipping a beat as each second passes. His eye examined her face, from her eyes to her cute chin. He quickly leaned in to give her a kiss. Pulling away from her soft lips, Jonghyun gave a cheesy grin.

"Now that you're affected, you can stay right?"

Completely red as a tomato, Nicole opened but to have nothing come out of it. Jonghyun took her action as a sign of agreement and pulled her into his chest. Still slightly puzzled, Nicole tried to think of what to do next.

I give up, Nicole forfeited.

Wrapping her arms around the latter, she nuzzled her head on his chest. Not even needing to look up to see the male's expression, she knew that he was grinning. Secretly hitting his back softly for revenge, a smile couldn't help but creep on her pink lips. She felt so comfortable and safe in his arms. Her eyes began to flutter close and the last thought in her mind was:

This anniversary wasn't so bad afterall.

Jonghyun eyes slowly opened to meet a bright ray of light from the window. Groaning, he squinted his eyes and tried to move but felt some kind of grip around his waist. He looked down to find his one and only girlfriend, closely attached to him. A wide smile appeared on his face as he studied her angelic features. While staring at his beautiful girlfriend, he was interrupted by a stuffed animal thrown at his face.

"I know you can't help but admire your darling girlfriend over there but I need to go," Key said with annoyance.

"Huh?" Jonghyun asked, slightly blushing after being caught in the act.

"I don't know what you two did while you were sick but it better not happen again," Key ordered, sounding slightly disgusted. "I've already called her members to inform her manager she staying over again."

"What? Why?"

"She's sick because of a certain someone," Key glared at Jonghyun. "You're going to take care of her, ok?"

"Wait, she's sick?!"

"Yeah," Key nonchalantly responded back as he placed his backpack over his shoulder. "I already told Manager Hyung to cancel your schedules. Bye!~"

Jonghyun watched rush out of the room and heard the front door of their apartment slammed close. In a state of confusion, he had to take a moment to process everything. Jonghyun slowly got up, not wanting to disturb Nicole's sleep. Just when he was sitting at the corner of the bed, he felt arms around his waist.

"Where are you going?" Nicole asked, her voice gushing with aegyo.

Stopping at his position, Jonghyun looked at Nicole who was attached to him. Her eyes were closed as she pursed her pink lips together. If she wasn't sick, he would've probably attacked her already. Ignoring the thought, he placed his hand on her forehead to check her temperature.

I guess it’s my turn now, Jonghyun smiled and left a soft kiss on her forehead, earning a quiet giggle in return.
