     I hate her.

Walking down the long crowded hallways, I hummed along to the music that was blasting into my ears from my black beat headphones. Even with the headphones on I heard the usual cheers from girls in the classrooms I pass by, which I normally wink in return. With the fan service ending, I blew my blonde hair and continued to concentrate in my music, but something caught my attention at the corner of my eyes.

Coming closer towards me, even though she was just wearing a plain white collar shirt with a red skirt and not a single touch of make up on her beautiful face, she was undoubtedly dashing. Her soft, long, brown hair was not in its usual high pony tail but flowing down, it suited her. She began to come closer with a charming smile and wave; I bit my lip and gave a small wave back.

I hate her for making my heart skip every time I see her.

“Daehyun-ah, good morning!” she cheerfully greeted, now only just inches away from me. I could feel my heart pounding my chest, wanting to burst out any second. “Did you eat breakfast yet?”

“Morning; and yeah I ate already, how about you?” I replied coolly. She shook her head cutely and pulled out a small blueberry muffin from her school bag.

Wrapping her hands around the muffin as if it was a priceless jewel, she explained, “I wasn’t hungry this morning but I brought a muffin just in case if I crave for food during class.”

Just smiling at me sweetly as if nothing was wrong, I stared at her in disbelief. It’s already been a week since she started her diet and I could see her face getting thinner. Most of all, just why is she trying to get so thin? I was frowning in the inside but I quickly hid it with a smirk and began to walk down the hallway before telling her, “You said that you’re going on a diet, I don’t see any progress.” Of course that was lie.

“YAH!” I heard her whine as she hurriedly caught up to me. My lips curved into a wide smile but I wiped it off of my face and replaced it with my famous poker face. Feeling my left sleeve being nudged, I looked down at the short female. “Say, I just noticed that you’ve never once called me Noona since we met. Wae?” she began to say, looking at me curiously.

I hate how she’s two years older than me.

I scoffed at her question and fixed my eyes to the hallway in front of me, “I just don’t want to.” Plus I’m older than you mentally; you should be calling me Oppa. “Why is that a problem?”

She walked beside me and shrugged, “Ani, it’s just that I was wondering that’s all.”

I casual nodded, sometimes feeling her hand bumping into mine.  As we continue to walk and talk, I saw the normal stares from the males towards her. Knowing her for many years already, I already knew she was ignoring them but that didn’t mean I would. While she was talking about food or class, I would secretly glare at them which cause them to wither. Weak I lowly chuckled to myself.

We finally reached our classrooms after a few minutes of walking; I leaned on my classroom’s doorway and continued to talk to her before the bell rings.  From my right ear, I heard a familiar cheerful voice coming towards us. I couldn’t help but let a sigh escape my mouth. Nicole and I fixed our eyes at the male who had blonde hair like mine’s but was slightly longer that touched his eyes.

“Noona, Daehyun, Annyeong!” the blonde haired male greeted us with a big charming smile on his face. Anyone could just look at him and tell that he was definitely a morning person unless he was just high on sugar ever morning.

Nicole’s lips curved into a cute smile as she waved at him, “Annyeong, Youngjae!~” Being a morning person herself, she looked happy that she was no longer alone for another person has finally arrived. Unlike me, I’m no morning person.

“Can you please contain your excitement, it’s hurting my ears,” I scolded at him, sticking my pinky in my left ear as if it became infected by his annoying voice. Taking a quick glance at my watch, there was only two minutes left till class starts. “Cole, you better head back to class, the bell is going to ring soon,” I suggested, showing her my watch.

She pouted cutely and obediently nodded, which made me laugh a little. Patting her head, I couldn’t help but wonder why she doesn’t know why I call her Noona. Saying our goodbyes, Youngjae and I watch her enter her classroom since it was next to ours. After she was finally out of our sight, we stepped into our classroom and walked to our desks that were near the windows.

“Neh, Daehyun,” Youngjae began; I was just pulling out my seat and placed my bag on the hook on the side. “Why is it that you get angry when I’m cheerful in the morning not Noona?”

The question completely caught me off guard; I nearly missed the seat by an inch when I was going to sit down. Covering up my astonishment, I looked at him with a confused expression, “Ani, I don’t know what you are talking about..” He began to look at me suspiciously, tapping his finger on his chin. I watched as his eyes examine me from top to bottom, then he snapped his fingers.

   “You like Noo—”

Before he could even finish his loud conclusion, I covered his mouth with my hands, muffling his words. I wrapped my arms around his head and formed a head lock that you would mostly see in wrestling games, whimpers began to come out of his mouth. Leaning towards his ear, I whispered lowly, “Don’t even come up with that kind of thought, for your information I hate her. If you tell anyone about this, you will be as good as dead.” I released him from my arms and sat back onto my seat, casually taking out my books and pencil case as if nothing happened.

Youngjae frowned and took a seat next me, he placed his head onto his wooden desk his eyes on me. “It’s not like I was going to tell anyone, you don’t have to pret—,” he began to complain but I quickly interrupted him and threw the most deathly glare I knew how to do.

“Do you really want to finish that sentence?” He quickly closed his mouth and shook his head, my lips curved into a big smirk, “Wise choice.”

The cafeteria was filled with chatter and sounds of food being munched on, which I was part of. Around me were my best friends that were also famous for their good looks like myself, I shouldn’t be bragging huh? Anyways we are also known as BAP, which was made by a few fan girls. I think it means Blonde Asian People since all of us have blonde hair but some people guess differently since Yongguk Hyung said it meant Best Absolute Perfect. I don’t know for sure but I think my hypothesis makes more sense.

Munching on my cold sandwich, I spotted her buying food at the lunch line. The staff swiftly gave her the tray and gestured for the next person in line to come up.  Before I could even finish swallowing my food and call her over, a guy that seemed to be in her grade came up to her. I stared at the two hard, watching every move the guy may be trying to use on her. His mouth moved, saying some things to her and to his response was a nod from her. A wide smile formed on his face as he stared at her. I saw her hand raise, saying good bye to the male, who just nodded and patted her head before he went back to his table.

He patted her head… He not me but him… Only I could do that to her! I took a large bite from my sandwich and chewed angrily. Watching her settle down her tray, she sat in front of me while sitting beside Himchan Hyung and Zelo. Everyone greeted her but me; I just stared at her and continued to munch on my sandwich.  Noticing my odd behavior, she looked at my weirdly, raising her eye brows. I flashed a cold smile and turned my attention to the food in front of me, as if ignoring her presence.

I hate how she makes me jealous like a five year old child.

Lunch was finally over once the bell ringed, signaling the students to quickly head back to their classrooms. It was rather quiet while we ate together; I would talk here and there while she did the same, which was fairly weird. During lunch time, she would be super hyper and talk like there was no tomorrow, but oddly today she seemed different. I was probably too deep in thought because I didn’t even feel my shoulder being tapped until I heard her scream my name.

“Yah, Daehyun!” the brown chocolate haired girl yelled my name in frustration. I turned around and faced her; I was completely off guard since I figured she walked to class with her other classmates. “I’m going to be a few minutes late afterschool so can you wait for me?” she asked, doing her best puppy dog face. She knew I couldn’t resist that face very well so it wasn’t a surprise when I nodded. I watch her pink lips curve into a smile and her eyes turn into a shape of moon crescents, “Gomawo!” She quickly ran off after saying that, my eyes followed her back until she disappeared out of my sight.

I hate her smile that makes my stomach flutter for no reason.

The final bell rang, raising the loud chatters and yawns from the students in the building. I stretched my arms and packed my bag, which Youngjae did also. Getting up from my seat, I pushed it in and slung my bag over my shoulder. My blonde hair best friend got up from his seat and pulled out a Snicker bar from his school bag, before zipping it back up and pulling the strap over his shoulder.

“Daehyun, don’t you have to meet up with Noona?” he asked me while he pushed his chair in. He ripped the wrapper with his teeth and stuffed the end of the bar into his mouth.

I shook my head and leaned against the windows, “Ani, she said she’ll be late for a few minutes.”

Grabbing the chocolate bar out of his mouth, Youngjae looked at me in shock, “Chincha?! What is she doing?” While he was talking, I saw the chunks of part of his chocolate bar in his mouth which he didn’t even bother to finish swallowing before he starts to talk.

Looking at him with disgust, I shrugged my shoulders and answered, “I’m not sure, she didn’t tell me. Plus don’t talk with your mouth full, haven’t your parents taught you that?” I saw his eyes roll at my question but he obediently chewed the chunks I witnessed before opening his mouth to talk again.

“Wouldn’t that mean Noona may be dealing with a confession with another male? Possibly the male that we saw her talk with at the cafeteria?!” he asked with excitement, but I did not share the same feelings as him, my jaw dropped in disbelief instead.

How could I be so stupid? I mentally face palmed myself. No wonder she was acting weird during lunch. I bit my lip and tried to sort everything in my head, brain storming any possibilities that seemed more logical than what Youngjae told me. But in the end, nothing seemed to come into my head but one thought. I need to find her.

I glanced at Youngjae and quickly exited out of the room, before yelling, “I’ll see you tomorrow!”

My feet hit the hallway floor loudly, creating an echo in the empty building. Sprinting as fast as I could, it was hard enough to look around for her in this huge campus let alone think where she may be. I searched in the East Building as well as the West Building with no sign of luck, leaving no other buildings she may be in. Where can she be? I rubbed my temples in frustration. Thinking for a few seconds, I snapped my fingers when it finally hit me, the back of the East Building. The place is famous for confessing to others, with tall trees and garden in the background it gave off a peaceful vibe. Sprinting there, I easily spotted her just about to walk out of the place.

“Daehyun?” she questioned me, the puzzlement in her voice and face was obvious.

Placing my hands on her shoulders, I tried to talk but was out of breath with all the running, “I—I—” The words wouldn’t come out of my mouth; instead it made my throat burn.

I saw her furrow her eyebrows as she rubbed my back, hoping it may help. “It’s ok, take your time to catch your breath,” she advised me.

As soon as I caught my breath, I blurted out everything that was going through my mind, “I know the guy from the cafeteria may have confessed to you first but I’ve known you much longer and better than anyone else. I love you. I always thought you were beautiful every day, no matter when you think you look ugly. So please don’t go out with that guy!” I took a deep breath in and exhaled out, exhausted from the amount of energy I mustered up to say everything. Staring at the expression on her face, it was completely blank/confused as well red.

“W-wait a minute,” she stuttered, pushing her bangs out of her eyes, “you thought Jaejin confessed to me?” I hesitatingly nodded, bewildered by her question and shy. “I was just running an errand that he couldn’t’ do.”

I hate how she makes me do embarrassing and uncool things.

Just hearing the word errand, I felt my face burn and the strength in my legs fell weak. I crouched down on the floor, hiding my face in my arms. I heard her sweet laugh escape from , feeling her arm over my shoulder. Uncovering my face from my arms, I looked at her, who was just now inches away from me. Her charming smile was planted over her face; I noticed a tint of red on her cheeks also.

“Neh,” she quietly spoke, “did you really mean when you said you love me?”

Just hearing it from made me feel more embarrassed but I nodded at her question anyways. My whole body felt hot and it was just the beginning of spring. I stared at her, waiting for her to say something else. Will I be rejected? The thought of it made my heart sink.

“I love you too,” she quickly confessed, covering her face with her hands.

My eyes widened as my heart skipped a beat, I hope to god I didn’t hear wrong. I pulled her hands away from her face, wanting her to face me but she continued to stare at the dirt floor below her. “Please say it again, I couldn’t hear,” I requested, making sure this wasn’t a dream. She shook her head, her eyes still fixed on the floor. I shook her hands that were laced with mine, “Please!”

She groaned before yelling one last time, “I LOVE YOU, JUNG DAEHYUN!”

Her black pearly eyes now looking straight at me, my heart quickened its pace and a big gummy smile carved onto my face. We stared into each other’s eyes for a few seconds until I closed the gap between us, giving her a kiss on her soft lips. I closed my eyes which she did as well.

I hate you, Jung Nicole.

Extra Scene:

“I see my plan worked out perfectly fine,” Youngjae smiled proudly, popping out from nowhere.

I looked at him weirdly with my hands still holding Nicole’s, she did the same. We were leaning on my classroom’s window, talking about when we should hang out.

“What do you mean?” Nicole asked him, not understanding what’s going on, I didn’t either until I saw the evil smile that was planted all over his face. The fact hit me like a hammer, but instead it didn’t hurt but boiled up my anger.

I glared at him, asking for confirmation, “You lied to me…?”

He didn’t answer me but simply stuck out his tongue at me before running out of the classroom, probably to find the Hyungs to protect him.

Rolling up my sleeves and cracking my knuckles, I told Nicole I’ll be back in a minute. I ran down the hallway, dodging the students that were in my way. Luckily I spotted his back perfectly, running even faster I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on him.

   “You’re dead meat, Yoo Youngjae!”
