Housewarming Party 1/2

We Got Married [MAX & SHEE]

April 19, 2011 – TVXQ dorm

Changmin was seen browsing the internet with his laptop, and laughed as he read an article. He wasn’t sure if it was right for him to be laughing, since he didn’t know whether Seunghee was joking or not. But then again, they were not a couple. They were just partners in front of the camera. But why did he feel guilty?

Seunghee had posted wedding photos of Changmin and IU from Heroes at her Cyworld with a cold statement;

You two really look good together.

The company must have made her posted that to get more reactions from the fans. That must be it. Changmin and Seunghee hadn’t contacted each other since their last filming due to their busy schedules and he didn't find any valid reasons for her to be upset.

Seunghee’s house

Seunghee was studying a drama script, debating whether to do it or not. Her hair was tied in a messy bun and she was wearing her glasses when her manager walked in.

“Do you still remember about the housewarming party?” Kyungmi asked and Seunghee nodded.

“Have they decided the date?” Seunghee asked.

“Yeah, this Thursday. You’re free on that day so I thought it should do,” Kyungmi replied and Seunghee nodded.

“Noted…” she mumbled. Kyungmi sat next to the idol and flipped the channel. “Unnie?” Seunghee suddenly called.

“Hm?”

“Can you not be a manager for a while? Listen to this as a sister,” Seunghee said seriously and Kyungmi frowned, but nodded.

“What’s wrong?” She asked.

“I don’t know why, but I’m feeling a bit bitter when I see those photos of Changmin and IU. Am I taking the show a bit too far?” Seunghee asked worriedly. Kyungmi’s eyes widened in a way that she was about to scold the idol, before she saw that Seunghee wasn’t comfortable with her own feelings.

“Gosh, when was the last time you dated?” Kyungmi asked and Seunghee couldn’t help but blushed.

“You knew the answer already!” She snapped and pouted. “I couldn’t help but think of Changmin as my…partner,” Seunghee voiced out her thought and Kyungmi sighed.

“I guess you’re just lonely. I mean, if you have a good looking guy acting as your husband, of course you’ll fall for him, right?” Kyungmi tried to reason and Seunghee huffed.

“What if he doesn’t like me back?” Seunghee asked and Kyungmi laughed.

“Who wouldn’t?” Kyungmi argued. Seunghee was a sweetheart, all guys would love her.

“But then it will only bring disappointment. Dating for idols is like trying to reach for the stars. And then you found out that the star had already died for quite a long time,” Seunghee muttered and Kyungmi shook her head.

“I’ll leave you and your philosophy alone,” Kyungmi said, getting up from the couch. Seunghee was left with her thoughts and she was no longer focused on the script in front of her.

April 21, 2011 – ChangHee couple house

Seunghee greeted Changmin warmly, much to the superstar relief. They caught up with each other as the cameraman readied the camera. The writers explained briefly about what they were going to do and as expected, IU would be brought up.

**Filming began**

The couple was talking about the housewarming party, and the topic of the guests was brought up.

“Should we invite IU?” Seunghee asked coolly and Changmin couldn’t help but feel flustered.

“Seunghee yah,” he called her rather sweetly and Seunghee glared at him. “You know I love you,” Changmin said cheekily and Seunghee bit her cheek so she wouldn’t smile. The words itself sounded so sincere and adorable, making her feel cherished.

*****

Seunghee: Fans sent the photos to me and asked if I had seen it…I was, um, we haven’t taken our wedding photos yet, and he took it with IU. I even took my time to watch the episode. He seemed to really like IU. So I was…I don’t know [shrugs] disappointed?

Changmin: It’s a show…and they asked me to do that. [Sighs] But I understand why she’s upset. She should be…if she’s not then that would be a problem too [Chuckles]

*****

“IU is a good dongsaeng of mine, do you want to see her again?” Seunghee asked, as she scribbled down what meal to prepare. Changmin scratched his neck awkwardly, and glanced at his on-screen wife.

“They told me to do that…” Changmin told her.

“Alright, I get it,” Seunghee said. “So who’s coming?” Seunghee changed the topic.

“Yunho hyung couldn’t come, and some of Super Junior will come,” Changmin told.

“How many people would it be?” Seunghee asked.

“Four to five,” Changmin replied after a while. “What about your friends?”

“Most of them are busy today, I think BEAST is actually free,” Seunghee interjected casually and Changmin looked at her but he didn't want them to break into a fight.

“Anyway, I need you to buy some groceries while I cook,” Seunghee told and headed to the kitchen with Changmin trailing behind her. She checked the ingredients and wrote them down, and gave it to her spouse.

“Be back soon,” Seunghee said and Changmin smiled.

“I will,” he said and headed out. He let out a sigh and sent a glance over his shoulder. “The air in there was too tense,” he muttered.

*****

Changmin wasn’t wearing any disguise since it was weekdays and morning. He walked into the supermarket and greeted the worker politely. Shopping for groceries would be easier if you were used to it, but Changmin wasn’t one of them. He didn’t want to call Seunghee and bother her but luckily one of the workers offered to help him.

Meanwhile back in the house, Seunghee was washing the rice and placed it into the rice cooker. Unlike her usual appearance, her hair was pulled into a bun to keep the hygiene while preparing the meal. The couple had decided to make dumplings, spicy grilled octopus, and beef-based meal. Since the guests were mostly comprised by male, that meant Seunghee needed to cook a lot.

She started to mince the meat and chop the vegies to prepare for the fillings. She was lucky that she brought some kimchi from home or else they would have to prepare one. She was done, for now. All she had to do was wait for Changmin to return. Seunghee washed her hands and took off the apron, going to the living room.

“Aigoo,” she sighed as she sat down on the couch. She let her body relaxed before getting up again, and tidying up the table. She glanced at the cameraman and flashed a sweet smile.

“You’re not going to edit this out right?” she asked, pulling off an aegyo before laughing.

*****

Changmin impressively carried all the bags in one trip and waited for his wife to open the door.

“You’re here,” Seunghee greeted him warmly and he was totally confused with her mood swing. Oh, well…women.

“Are we eating outside?” Changmin asked as he recalled seeing a table outside.

“Yeah, it’s better I think,” Seunghee replied and took some plastic bags from Changmin’s hand. He protested a bit and Seunghee sent him a sharp look. They carried the groceries to the kitchen and placed them on the counter.

“Help me sort these out,” Seunghee said. “We need to wash the meat first…” she trailed off, searching for a bowl. Changmin was taking the things out of the grocery bags and arranged them neatly.

“Where do I put this?” Changmin asked, showing Seunghee the lettuce.

“Wash them first before you place it in the fridge,” Seunghee replied and Changmin did as he was told.

“What about this?” he asked again and Seunghee was about to scold him to use his own brain when she saw a bunch of red tulips in his hand. She instantly smiled widely, her eyes becoming like crescent moons.

“That’s…very sweet of you,” she said while blushing, and took the red tulips from his hand. Changmin grinned, he too, was flustered by his cheesy action. “Thank you, Changmin ah. I love it,” Seunghee said, hugging him with one arm before finding a vase to put the flower in.

*****

Changmin: Now the mood is a happy newlywed couple! Everything seems to be brightened up by her smile [Laughs]

Seunghee: I really love it! I mean, who wouldn’t? And I don’t know…I really love it. He puts his thought in it so I really appreciate it.

*****

“A lot of my friends didn’t want to come because of you,” Seunghee suddenly told Changmin as she was stirring the beef broth.

“Eh? Why?” Changmin asked, bewildered.

“They say you’re a bit intimidating,” Seunghee replied, chuckling.

“I’m charming right?” he asked playfully and her cheeks reddened.

“Yeah, yeah, you are,” she said, trying to appear nonchalant. Changmin stole a glance at her and grinned like a little boy. Seunghee covered the pot with its lid and walked over to Changmin who was making the dumpling.

“Oh, you’re doing really well!” Seunghee praised, amazed at Changmin’s detail and precise handiworks.

“Tch, were you underestimating me?” Changmin asked and Seunghee lightly bumped her shoulder to him.

“What time are they coming?” Seunghee asked, reaching for a skin. She placed a spoonful of the filling and carefully folded the dumpling.

“They should be here less than an hour,” Changmin shrugged and glanced at the clock. “By that time the meal should be ready right?”

“Why? Are you hungry already?” Seunghee teased and Changmin glared playfully at her.

“I need to wash the meat,” Seunghee said suddenly, remembering about it. Changmin cast a glance at Seunghee who walked toward the sink, and he slightly pouted at their distance.

*****

“Are you tired?” Seunghee who was done washing the meat and octopus legs asked.

“Are you?” Changmin asked back and Seunghee smiled at the slightest caring act of Changmin.

“Go have a rest. You must be tired,” Seunghee told, knowing Changmin was still having a promotion.

“I’m fine,” he said but stopped folding the dumpling. He went over to the fridge and took an orange juice, pouring it into his mug and drank it. He refilled the mug and handed it to Seunghee. “You must be thirsty.”

“Thank you,” Seunghee sang light heartedly, sipping the orange juice. “Do you want a massage?” She offered, knowing the man must be tired. Cooking didn’t only drain you physically but also mentally. They had been working for hours and beside, Changmin even went to the market to buy the ingredients.

“Yeah, my back hurts,” Changmin whined and Seunghee laughed.

“You can be a kid sometimes,” she told, gesturing him to sit down.

“But you still love me,” he remarked and Seunghee blushed, but didn’t deny it. She did enjoy his company. But love? That was still too early to decide.
