“Yah, wake up.”

I felt someone nudge me from my sides. I let out a low moan as I rubbed my ribcage, turning sideways on the small, comfortable sofa in the back of our lounge.

“Five more minutes,” I groaned.

“You’ve said that ten times already, so get up!”

This time, he literally shoved me off of the sofa, on which I landed dead flat on the ground. I woke up instantly, surprised by the sudden action and began to feel frustrated as my dreams were rudely interrupted. I shot a glare at the smirking person in front of me as I still laid on the cold tiles, head tilted upwards.

“Yah, what do you want?” I growled.

“Boss wants to talk to you,” he replied as he nonchalantly grabbed a nearby chair, sitting backwards with his long, slender legs on both sides and crossed his arms, looking down at me.

“What does he want now?”

“Who knows?” he shrugged.

I sighed as I slowly sat up, still feeling a light stinging sensation from the fall a few minutes ago. I scratched my head as I stood up and dusted off my café uniform and began to head to the door.

“Good luck~♪”

“Lee Sungyeol, you’re going to pay for what you did later,” I mumbled before I left. I closed the door behind me and casually walked to my Boss’s office.

“Tch, waking me up violently as always.”

I knocked on the door and heard someone say ‘Come in’ a few seconds later. I went in the room, noticing my Boss’s back facing me.

“Kim Myungsoo,” he began, “Since you’ve been the best employee that I’ve ever seen, I will give you this special assignment.”

“Yah, why me?” I whined.

“I stand corrected. If you could just change that attitude of yours, then you’d be the best employee that I’ve ever seen.”

I sighed and nodded for him to move on.

“As I was saying, your new assignment will be to train the rookie employee.”

“WHAT?!”

“I thought that you would fit the job more than the others.”

“But I can’t do that! I mean, I can’t teach a rookie!” I was overwhelmed. What would happen to my freedom? My sleeping and cuddling hours with my bamboo pillow? My sanity?

Why me of all people?!

“Dude, relax,” my boss tried to calm me down.

“How can I relax?! Yah, Kim Sunggyu, what the hell did I do to deserve this?!”

“Hey, no need to say my name and for your information, that’s MR. Kim Sunggyu.”

“Like I care.”

“Anyways, I’ve been watching you guys work closely and-”

“Creeper.”

“Let me finish, will ya?” he sighed, “Anyhow, I noticed you work splendidly, and that the rookie would learn a lot from you if you were to be her mentor.”

“Her? A girl?  Working in this café?” I smirked.

Honestly, there aren’t a lot of girls who work in this café primarily because this café is flooded by pretty boys like me, so girls usually come as customers. The girls who already work here either don’t care about pretty boys or they’re tomboys.
