{The next day – Break time}

“Hey, composing late again?” my friends greeted me when I was yawning in the cafeteria

“Yeah” I answered shortly

“Not surprise anyway” Doojoon shooked his head. If I wasn’t sleepy, he would be dead

“By the way, do you guys know Kim’s family?” I was curious

“So the rumors are true” – Kikwang

“What rumors?” I didn’t understand

“The whole school is gossiping about you become a tutor of Kim’s family” – Jiyoon

“That? Yeah, it’s true…Is that girl studying at our school? I haven’t seen her before”

“You mean Hyuna? Of course, she is. She’s in class 11E” – Dongwoon

“She looks scary. No emotion on her face. Untidy. She has no friend here” – Sohyun

“No one wants to become her friends? I thought there were some students want to get along well with rich people” I was surprised

“There were. But she didn’t respond so they gave up” – Hyunseung

“Yeah, because her father’s the most powerful man in this town, even the mayor’s scared of him, so no one dares to touch her. Well, except some idiots think that they could change the world…Like one there” Jina pointed to somewhere as I turned to see

A boy’s standing in front of Hyuna preventing her from going. He’s saying something that I can’t here but he’s smirking.  All of sudden, he throws away tray of food she’s holding. Maybe she hasn’t eaten breakfast. Everyone in the cafeteria keep silence watching the scene. The boy looks very happy what he just did. On the other hand, Hyuna just glances at him before walking away. She doesn’t show any feelings on her face. After she disappears, the atmosphere becomes noisy again.

“Humh, what’ll happen to that boy this time?” – Yoseob

“Bankrupt. Being kicked out from his family. Get in jail because of some reason” – Gayoon

“Huh? He can do that?” my eyes got widen. ‘He’ here prefers to Mr.Jaehyun, not the stupid boy back then.

 “Of course, he can. He protects his daughter a lot even they seems cold to each other” – Jihyun

“Oh, right. Remember when someone blamed on her for destroying all the stuffs in the lab?”  Dongwoon said excitedly like telling an action movie

“Yeah, I do. The principal didn’t know what to do. Her father showed up and bought brand new stuffs for the lab. Since then, he changed all the things in the school maybe in the town so no one can blame on his daughter” Hyunseung gave a laugh. Am I missing something? What’s funny?

“That’s right. They’re all from his property. She can burn down this school if she wants” the others laught. Hello, I don’t understand here.

“You guys are all crazy” I mumbled standing up and heading to the school garden

“Hey, wait up” they got up and ran after me

{At school garden}

My friends are sitting on the two benches when I’m leaning on the tree opposite them.  You may ask how 10 people can sit on 2 benches. I tell you. The girls sit on their boyfriends’ laps. We’re chatting about our new songs that we’ll perform in the school festival.  Suddenly, a huge thing runs pass between us. Its mouth is biting a packet. We all know what it is but my friends don’t.

“Whose dog’s that?” they were looking at the dog

“That’s huge” Jiyoon commented

“Is that Joe?” Gayoon spoke. She knew it?

“You know it?” Yoseob asked his girlfriend

“Yeah, he’s Hyuna’s dog” she nodded

“How do you know?” I surprised

“I studied in the same primary school with Hyuna. If we were in same middle school, we would become bestfriends now” she explained

“How could you become friends with her, unnie? She’s…” – Sohyun

“Hyuna wasn’t this kind of person back then. She was cheerful, out-going and nice. Everyone loved her. They loved her twin, too”

“Twin?” I was shocked. She has a twin?

“Yeah, her brother, Byunghyun. I don’t know where he is now”

“My parents said her mother ran away with another man and brought him with her” – Dongwoon

“I don’t know. But her mother was very gentle. Maybe because of that, Hyuna turned into this” Gayoon nodded lightly. So this is what the nanny mentioned?

“If so, she shouldn’t destroy herself like that. She may not smart enough but not studying doesn’t help her make her mother and her brother comeback” I complained

“She isn’t stupid, Junhyung. She’s actually smart. She just doesn’t want to study” Gayoon protested

“Huh? Her scores are the worst in school…” – Hyunseung

“Trust me, okay? I can feel that she’s Hyuna I knew. She always came first back then. If she’s stupid, so I’m more stupid then her?” Gayoon defended. Gayoon’s right. Gayoon studies well. Hyuna could pass her so Hyuna can’t be stupid. How am I supposed to do to bring back the old Hyuna? 

“Junnie, how much you earn when you teach Hyuna?” – Hyunseung

“Well, I’m tested in 2months, 10000won per a day. After 2months, it’ll be 20000won each day” I laught at their silly faces

“That much? Can I accompany you?” – Doojoon

“I know it’s a lot. But…teaching Hyuna is difficult. Yesterday is my first day and I already want to quit”

“Mwo? Wae?” Dongwoon whined

“She just stared at the desk and I’m the only one who talked”

“Oh…that’s stressful”

“Ah, right, Gayoon, did Hyuna always wear man clothes when she was kid?” I remembered

“Ani. She was very girly back then. Totally opposite with what she’s now. She was tidy, cute and nice” – Gayoon

“Why you asked, hyung?” – Yoseob

“She wore a man shirt yesterday and she has closets of man clothes” I explained

“Maybe she misses her brother. Her mother ran away with her lover. Why she brought her son with her?” – Jiyoon

“Don’t know…Oh, she’s coming…” Hyunseung warned

Hyuna’s eating a sandwich and Joe’s always beside her even she doesn’t use anything for holding him. Impressive!! He suddenly stops in front of Gayoon and looks at her.

“You still remember me?” Gayoon bent down rubbing his head as he nodded. Okay, this sounds wrong.

“He’s so cute~” – Sohyun

While my friends’re playing with Joe, Hyuna doesn’t bother to look. She concentrates on her sandwich. Hold on, where did she get that? Cafeteria doesn’t sell that. It’s weird.

“Gruuu…” Joe suddenly turned his head to someone baring his fangs. Oh, the stupid boy back then.

That boy seems scared. He should be. If I was him, I would be scared to death. What? Joe’s a big dog. Joe about to bite or rush to him but Hyuna runs to hug Joe all of sudden.  She rubs his ears and his body resting her forehead on his as he become calm again. This’s weirder. When Hyuna stands up, the stupid boy has already disappeared. She continues eating her sandwich and walks away. Joe looks at Gayoon waving his tail before following Hyuna. It’s the weirdest. Conclusion, everything about Hyuna is weird.

“I can’t believe that Joe still remembered me” – Gayoon

“Did you see what happened just then? He totally changed when he saw the boy who bullied his master” – Jihyun

“Yeah, I was shocked” – Dongwoon

“But how could he know who bullied his master? And how could he know she was bullied?” – Doojoon

“Don’t know. Maybe that’s a sense of dogs” – Jina

“Yeah, he’s a special kind of dogs so it could be” – Sohyun

“What do you mean ‘special kind’?”  I surprised

“Has you watched ‘Hachi’? About a royal Japanese dog. He waited for his master until he died. Joe’s that kind of dog”

“Woa~ That’s why he seems familiar…” Kikwang nodded

“You should be careful, hyung. If you hit her, Joe may bite you” Yoseob smirked

“Yah!! I have never hit a girl” I smacked his head

“Will you continue being her tutor? It seems...harsh” – Jiyoon

“I’ll. If my parents find out I quit, the way to Seoul University is further”

“But she doesn’t want to study” – Gayoon

“I’ll find a solution then”

“Good luck, Junnie. You’re definitely…failed” Hyunseung smirked before running away

“Yah!!” I chased him

{End of school}

I decide to go to the teacher office, I may find schedule of Hyuna’s class. So I can teach her some subjects she’ll have the next day. If she stares at the desk, she still may hear some words from me and remember it. I hope.

“Hi, Mrs.Park” I saw Mrs.Park in the office

“Oh, hi, Junhyung. Yeah, I still have something to do. Why you come here?” she asked

“Uhm, I…” I scratched my head

“You want Hyuna’s schedule, right?” she raised her eyebrows

“Yes. How do you know?”

“I heard students gossiped…Here” she gave me a paper

“Thanks, Mrs.Park” I about to go

“Junhyung, please quit if it affects your study. She’ll pass afterall”

“What do you mean?” my eyes got widen

“You know she has the worst scores right?” she leaned on the table as I nodded

“Well, those were created by us. Her tests were always empty. She never did one” she continued

“Really?” I couldn’t believe

“Yeah, we can’t give her full marks, everyone’ll suspect. So we’ll give her enough marks to pass”

“Why didn you do that? Why didn’t you help her study, Mrs.Park?”

“Her father's powerful. You have taught her, right? You should know how she is when you’re teaching. She even slept in my class”

“Oh…”

“You shouldn’t worry too much about that girl. It’s dangerous for being friends with her” Mrs.Park suggested

“Mrs.Park…Do you see anything weird about Hyuna?”

“Huh? Uhm…Yeah, she always sits near the window and there always has an empty seat next to her” she looked shocked at my sudden question

“No one wants to sit beside her?”

“No. She puts her bag there. Sometimes she looks at it blankly” What does she mean? She always looks blank.

“Oh, thanks, Mrs.Park. I have to go now. Goodbye” I bowed and left

My phone suddenly vibrates

[From: Unknown “You can come to teach her today”]

Should I come? I’m curious, I don’t have anything to do today and I need money to go to Dongwoon’s birthday party this weekend. Let’s try again then. Wish me luck!!
