“I’ll take you home.  It’s late” I offered my hand to Hyuna helping her stand up

“Aren’t you going to school to take your bike?” – Doojoon

“We’ll walk. This is near our neighborhood than the school. I’ll take my bike tomorrow” I said while holding her bag

“He said ‘our neighborhood’ and even held her bag…Ew…” Kikwang stopped whispering to Jiyoon when he saw I was looking at him. Psf, his whispering skill is so bad.

“So, see you guys tomorrow…Let’s go” I waved at them before walking away

“Are you happy to see your friends again?” I asked on the way and Hyuna gave a smile for the answer

“How many years you haven’t seen each other?” I put my hands in my pockets not noticing her head lowed down before showing me five fingers. Damn you, Junhyung.

“Uhm…Tomorrow, we have P.E lesson. Can you run? I can run for you” I changed the topic after realizing and she shooked her head pointing at herself

“Are you sure?” I raised my eyebrows as she nodded continuously

“Alright, alright. Stop before your head falls down” I chuckled then she pouted. So cute!!

“Young master, where did you go? We’re worried about you” nanny suddenly appeared. When did we arrive?

“I…” I about to talk

“Junhyung, I think you should go now…It’s not the right time…” nanny kept turning to the mansion while talking. Something’s wrong in there?

“Nanny, what happened?” I was curious and Hyuna looked dumbfounded as well

“Young master, master’s here. Hurry. He may get angry…Junhyung, go go” nanny pulled Hyuna inside and locked the door

“Bye” that was all what I could say. Why did nanny look terrified?

{The next day}

“Hey” I saw Hyuna entering the class…with Joe

Weird. She won’t go with Joe unless Joe finds out someone bully her or wants to prevent her from do anything stupid. No one dares to do that again so there must have something happened last night. But what is it? And the next weird thing is when he sees Hara’s group, I mean, Kara. He shows his fangs like he wants to eat them ALIVE even he’s just a dog. I was right. They’re the culprits who made Hyuna fall down yesterday. Kara slowly gets out from class not wanting to be bitten. Serve you right.

“Did something happen last night?” I turned to Hyuna when she sat down as she gave a weak smile shaking her head. Something’s definitely wrong.

“Hyung…Yah!! Hyung!!” Dongwoon’s scream made me startle

“The teacher wants to meet you” he pointed at the door

“The festival this month has been canceled because Mrs.Kang was fired…” I couldn’t concentrate on what the teacher said because I couldn’t stop myself from glancing at Hyuna. She is different today.

“…But we have another festival for Christmas. So prepare for it. That’s all” I snapped out of my thoughts just in time the teacher finished

“Festival for Chirstmas, huh?” an idea popped into my mind

“Hyuna, do you want to join us?” I gave her a leaflet

She reads it carefully and turns to Joe like she wants his advice or something. Why’s always Joe? Why’s not me? She stares at the leaflet again and nods. YES!!!

“Done. I’ll sign up for you” I smiled widely and wrote down my name and hers

Suddenly, someone hits my head.

“Did you forget your bestfriends?” my group was making serious faces

“I about to ask you” I defended myself

“Yeah…” their responses sounded like they didn’t believed me. I know them well.

“Okay, class…” the teacher came in so my friends had to go back to their seats

Yoseob sticks his tongue out at me before sitting down. Hyuna and I laugh at his childish action. She does laugh but it doesn’t make any sound. All the time when we’re studying, Joe lies down beside Hyuna quietly so the teachers allow him to stay.

{Break time}

Some boys of another class show up in my class all of sudden. They’re holding boxes and flowers. They’re going to confess to someone in this class at the same time? I get shock when they all head to my direction. It can’t be me so it must be Hyuna. Wait, what? Hyuna? All of my classmates focus watching the scene.

“Uhm…Hyuna…We…Can…Can you accept these?” they all gave her the gifts while she blinked several times. I know she couldn’t understand

“Someone’ll be JEALOUS~” I heard my friends mocking me from behind. I try to hold my anger.

Joe uses his leg touching Hyuna’s and she stands up accepting the gifts. My eyes get widened. Joe helps them? WHY? Of course, the boys must be very happy. I even can’t see their eyes. They’re smiling too widely. Why did she accept those?

“Hyuna, you’re so popular” 4minute ran to us after the boys left. Are they really my friends?

“That’s right, today isn’t your birthday but you receive so many gifts. Am I right, Junnie?” Hyunseung crossed his arm around my shoulders. Even my best best friend betrayed me?

“How can I know?” I smacked it away from my shoulders as they brusted into laugh. It’s not funny AT ALL.

“I don’t eat those” I looked away when Hyuna gave me some chocolate from her gifts and that made my friends laugh harder

Her hands suddenly holds my face forcing it turn to her. She’s pouting. It doesn’t work at this time, Hyuna. I won’t forgive her if she doesn’t use her puppy eyes. Damn, I can’t resist them. It’s the cutest.

“Fine. Feed me” I opened my mouth obediently then my group all were lying down to laugh

“Yah!! Stop laughing” I shouted while chewing the chocolate. They’re really annoying.

“You shouldn’t talk while eating, hyung” Dongwoon commented. Still laughing.

“Whatever…Oh gosh, time for P.E. Go to change. NOW” I remembered when glancing at the clock

“Junnie, clean your mouth first” Jina giggled and so did the others. Even now they still teased me?

“Aren’t you going to join?” I noticed Hyuna was still sitting

“Hey…” I called her again because she didn’t respond

For a while, Joe stands up and pulls up her skirt revealing her knees. They’re both bandaged. Blood can be seen on the white silk. That’s why Joe came with her today?

“That’s why you can’t run? YAH!! Why did you hide it from me?” I yelled bending down watching the wounds

Instead of keeping quiet like back then, she smiles and uses her skirt to hide the wounds saying she was okay.

“You’re not fine…Stay here. I’ll go and take for you some new bandages” I ran to the clinic

“What the hell happened last night?” I mumbled 

“Junhyung, where are you going? The yard is this way” Doojoon saw me

“I won’t come. Neither will Hyuna. Cover for me, Doojoon. Thanks” I said and ran away before he could ask anything further

“Oppa” a voice came out

“What, Hara?” I was annoyed. What’s wrong when I want to skip class? I’m human, too.

“Why did you use that voice to me?”

“That’s what you want to say? Bye” I continued my way

When I reach, Hyuna’s still sitting with her head low down and Joe’s just lying down quietly beside.

“Hey” I called to get her attention as she looked up

“Let me…” I wanted to open her old bandage but she resisted

“Hey, we should change these before infections” I tried again but she still didn’t let me

“YAH!! Am I your friend? Why can’t you tell me what happen? Why can’t you let me help you? No one wants to see you like this, Hyuna…Fine, if you want, do it by yourself…” I shouted and left Hyuna with the packet of bandages. I can’t hold my anger anymore.

I go to the school garden to release my stress. Why? I do my best and she still doesn’t open her heart. But I feel sorry because I shouted at her. Damn you, Junhyung. How could you be angry in this situation? After thinking for a while, I decide to go back to class. However, Hyuna aren’t in class anymore. I can’t find her bag, either. Maybe she goes home.

“Yah!! Yong Junhyung, why did you run back then?” Doojoon made me startle

“Hey, low your voice down. The whole school can hear it…You guys finished P.E lesson already?” I was surprised

“What’re you talking about? Time to go home” Hyunseung pointed at his watch shaking his head

“Oh…” I nodded sadly

“Where’s Hyuna? She went home already?” – Gayoon

“Yeah…I guess…” I sighed

“Oppa, what’s wrong? Did something happen?” – Jiyoon

“Nothing…Let’s go home. I’m tired”

“Oh…Alright” my friends didn’t ask more

Few days passed. Hyuna and I ignore each other. I text nanny saying that I can’t teach Hyuna for a week. Sometimes, my friends talk to her and she smiles. At break time, she always goes to somewhere and comes back after it ends. I don’t follow her anymore. It doesn’t work anyway.

“Hey, something’s wrong between you and Hyuna?” Hyunseung sat beside me

“Silence means I’m right?” he raised his eyebrows as I nodded

“I don’t know that you notice or not. But Hyuna’s turning back to her old side”

“What do you mean?”

“You’re ignoring her so you can’t see that. She’s going to the garden at break time again. Her smiles are fewer and fewer every day. Don’t you worry?”

“Why should I? She won’t listen to me”

“What are you talking about? Who’s the one turned her into this? Who’s the one could make her study? It’s YOU. That means she listens to you. Where’s Junhyung I know? Why did you give up so easily?”

“I don’t know, Seungie. I just felt hopeless” I rested my head on the desk

“I tell you this. You notice that the others and I talked to her lately, right? But do you notice that she didn’t smile widely like when you talked? You’re the only one can do that, Junnie. Nothing can’t change after one day. It need time. Think about it” Hyunseung patted my shoulders before walking away

The class starts again. Hyuna sits down and I glance at her. My eyes get widened when I see her arms are bandaged. Why is she always injured? The teacher comes in when I about to say something.

“Junhyung, I have something to discuss with you” the teacher called me after the class ended when I wanted to follow Hyuna and ask her

“Nae” I’ll ask her tomorrow then

“So tired” I complained after the discussion

“Excuse me” a voice came out as I turned

“Is Hyuna noona still here?” one of five boys asked

“No. She went home” I felt like I saw them somewhere. Why do I have bad memory?

“Oh…Can you give this to her for us?” they looked upset and gave me a CD

“Why don’t you go?”

“We…We can’t. Her father doesn’t allow after his son died…Thanks a lot, hyung. We have to go” they bowed and ran to a car not waiting for my response. Well, at least I have a reason to visit her now.
