Youngmin – Are We Fated?

*shiver* I started to  feel cold.

Suddenly an arm from my left came around and hugged my right shoulder. I was surprised at the quick movement, then looked to my left to see Youngmin oppa looking straight at the ground infront of him. I smiled and leaned on his shoulder as the teacher’s lecture went on and on.

Our whole year level was here for his school trip, and the teacher was yelling loudly for the people at the back of the hall to hear him.

I shivered two more times because of the warmth I felt from his arm on mine. Then I felt him shiver. I lifted my head to look to his eyes. “Oppa gwaenchana?” I asked softly, when I saw the teacher’s face look in my direction. He just nodded with a smile and I went back to leaning on his shoulder. The teacher just looked away and continued his huge lecture.

I felt warm and calm in oppa’s arm hug.

Youngmin oppa. Oppa. We have been friends since little as our parents are friends. Ever since our first day today we’ve been happy around eachother. Oppa would always show me how to do new things. From cooking class in school he would always bring me back some food, and I would do the same. Over the years we’ve become best friends. It’s been almost 10 years already, since we first met.

Youngmin’s P.O.V.

“Youngmin-ah, darowa.” Eomma called me from the lounge room

“Neh!” I walked down quickly

“Youngmin-ah, there’s someone I’d like you to meet.” Eomma said excitedly, and I gave a surprised face.

“Someone? Who?” I looked at the photo eomma pulled out from her handbag. It was a girl.

“This is Yoomi. Eomma… wants you to marry her.” She smiled as she said the last part, but my eyes went wide.

“MWO? Marry her? Eomma!!! Micheosseo??” I showed my shock

“Waeyo? You don’t like her? She’s a very pretty girl Youngmin-ah. Her appa is your appa’s best friend. She is very intelligent too, so you both have good studies in common. Eomma thinks she suits you a lot, why not give her a chance?” Eomma tried to persuade me, but I shook my head.

“Eomma, enough. I’m not going to give her one chance, not even one second! Let alone marry her! Eomma, mianhaeyo, but this isn’t going to happen.” I looked to the ground, guessing I disappointed her.

“Waeyo Youngmin? You haven’t even met her yet, how can you reject her so hastily?” she started to sound mad

“Eomma, what about you then?” I looked her in the eyes and asked the words from my heart

“Mwo? you? … Youngmin hokshi… do you like you-ie?” Eomma pointed at me with a huge surprise. I nodded then faced the floor again. She covered and thought deeply.

“When… did this start?” she asked after a long thinking silence.

I took a deep breath and said my confession to my eomma first.

“Since… three years ago. I really liked her ever since our first day together eomma, but it was three years ago when I first realised I had feelings for her, and that, I want to… be with her.” I sweeped the carpet floor with my feet as I spoke.

“Well then, you better get over her quickly. I’ve arranged for Yoomi’s family and ours to meet next week. You have until then to get over you, arasseo??” she ordered, and I just scoffed.

Walking away, I was annoyed and started talking to myself.

“Mwo? Marry? Pfft, yeah, like that’s gonna happen.” I marched into my room and slammed the door.

“Hyung, waeyo?” Kwangmin looked at me with his glasses on

“Heh, eomma wants me to marry this girl called Yoomi, appa’s friend’s daughter.” I told him

“Mwo? But, what about you?  I thought hyung liked her, you are going to be her Boyfriend aniya?.” Kwangmin said, drawing lines on his page.

“Yeah, but… eomma just said to get over her. Aish it’s so frustrating! Na eottoke?” I ruffled my hair and Kwangmin pushed his glasses higher

“Just reject eomma’s idea then, how hard can it be?” Kwangmin said plainly, making me give him a stare

“*choke* Mwo? If it’s so easy, you go tell her then, maybe she’ll even arrange your marriage for you!” I exclaimed and Kwangmin just nodded and went back to drawing.

Your P.O.V.

“Hee! I can’t wait for today, I will see my Youngmin oppa again!!” I giggled as I skipped childishly down the streets to school. At the gates, I waited for a few minutes. Not One, But Two only today.

“Oppaaa!” I called out and waved to him with a huge smile, to receive a wave back

“you-ah… I have something to tell you. Darowa.” He grabbed my hand and led me to a private space

"What is it oppa?" you beamed, this always happens. Whenever you see him, your day just beams up and lights up like fireworks. It's always been like this.

"Umm... you-ah... my eomma, wants me... to... to- to marry- hmm" he sighed, and I froze up, wanting to hear the rest of the sentence

"M-marry??" you slowly pointed to yourself, and Youngmin looked sad. He shook his head and looked to the floor

"O-oh... I see. So... what did you say?" you asked, clenching one fist ucontrollably.

"I... I told her... no, but... I don't think she will listen to me. What do I do you-ah? I-" he stopped again, lost for words

"Okay....  I ... don't know... oppa. Do you... want to marry her?" you stuttered, asking nervously

Youngmin oppa shook his head immediately

"Aniii!!! If I ever have to marry someone, it'll be y-" he exclaimed, then stopped and blushed

"Hmm? It'll be... who?" you asked again, really curious

"Uhh uhh... *sigh* you-ah, there's another thing, I have to tell you. It's something I've kept inside for a long, long time." he said seriously

You blinked a few times then nodded. "Okay oppa, tell me. I'm ready." you gulped then smiled bravely

"I.... like you. I've liked you for three years already. My crush for you started a long time ago. I know we sort of already act as if we're... uhh... together *blush*, but I want to become your official Boyfriend... forever. I want you to be my girlfriend.... what do you say?" he confessed, and you both blushed

"I.... *tomato red face* *giggle* I ... feel the same oppa." you said, confessing back, and he smiled

"Chinja?"

You nodded, and he hugged you happily

"Yes~!!" he cheered, knowing his confession was successful

"But... what are we gonna do about..." you asked, remembering, and he broke the hug

"Oh... hmm... let's go see my eomma after school today then you-ah, we'll tell her our relationship, let's try to convice her together, okay?" Youngmin grabbed your hand and held it gently,a nd you nodded. Though you could always feel the close love that Youngmin gave you, you knew that now it was official, it could blossom into something way bigger.

At Youngmin's house

"Eomma, I bought you-ie, home. And I need to announce something to you." Youngmin said straight up as we entered the house.

"Oh! Welcome you-ah, how have you been?" Youngmin's eomma greeted you, and you greeted back with a polite bow.

"Eomma!!" Youngmin whined, then his mum looked at him to listen to him speak

"Eomma, me and you are together now. We like eachother and are going out, so don't tell me to marry that Yoomi girl again please." Youngmin lifted up your locked hands to show, but his eomma dropped her glass plate and we heard it shatter 

I flinched at the smashing of the glass, and quickly rushed to help pick up the broken pieces.

"M-mwo? What do you think you're doing Youngmin-ah?" his eomma didn't care about the broken plate, she stared at Youngmin with disappointment

You looked up to see her face, but looked back down in fear of how the situation turned out to be

"Youngmin-ah... to be honest, eomma doesn't want to force you either, but... you have to marry Yoomi." she spoke seriously but quietly

"Eomma!!!!! Tresseo!! I'm not marrying Yoomi!" Youngmin raised his voice in rage and Kwangmin ran out from his room to see the situation. He bent down to help you with the broken glass pieces, exchanging a quick look to you

"Youngmin, let me finish. You have to marry Yoomi because-"

"ENOUGH!! Stop it eomma, I don't want to hear it anym-"

*slap*

There was a long, long, long, long silence in the room. Kwangmin and I gasped and looked at Youngmin and his eomma's expressions.

"JO YOUNGMIN! You do not speak like that!! Now, listen to me!! You have to marry Yoomi, because your appa wants you to!! You must!" she yelled with anger

Youngmin took deep breaths and clenched his fist to stop tears from showing. Kwangmin clenched his fist too, and you noticed their connection again.

"Why... does appa want me to?"

"... he has his reasons." she lowered her voice

The situation was terrible...
