It was break time.

After washing your hands, you started up the stairs back to the 3rdfloor. You wagged your still-wet hands since there had been no paper towels in the restroom.

“Aye! YA!” Voices screamed.

You looked up and your eyes widened. You had accidentally gotten water on the queenkas.

“You stupid girl! My make-up isn’t waterproof!” Jieun pushed you.

You bumped into the wall and winced.

“Seriously?! What is wrong with a girl like you? Do you have any brains?” Iseul poked your head in an offensive manner. Yeji snorted, “Retard.”

“You really need to learn your lesson.” All 3 of them raised their hands.

Just then, the fire alarm rang and the sprinklers .

Like the wicked witch of the west, the girls screamed and ran out of the school.

You looked up at the sprinklers and around the empty vicinity *There’s a fire in the school?* Coughing, you ran back down the stairs.

A boy stepped out from behind the door. He watched you go down the stairs and exit the school. He pulled the bar back up.

The sprinklers stopped immediately and the alarm quieted down.

*I can’t protect you in front of everyone but I can do my best to see that you’re safe secretly.* With a sigh, the mysterious boy left.
