“Jimin, when did you and Minjeong start dating?”

   Jimin was taken aback by the sudden question. Minjeong choked on the food she was chewing, making Jimin rub the back of her back and give her a glass of water.

"Dad!" Minjeong hissed pretty much in distress, coughing a little bit.

“I was just curious,” her dad simply replied with a chuckle. “You don’t need to shout, kid.”

“You’re embarrassing me,” she mutters with gritted teeth as she swats her twin brother’s hand when he tries to steal her chicken. “Please.” She literally begs, and then looks at Beomgyu, hissing, “Stop it!”

  He rolled his eyes like how her twin sister does, and muttered, “I’ll trade my veggies,” which made the latter agree immediately because she loves veggies.

  Jimin saw the gesture and then did the same. She puts her baked patats on the latter’s plate as she mutters that she didn’t want them. Minjeong gave her a genuine smile, silently asking if she wanted her chicken. Jimin just shook her head and mouthed, “I’m good.”

“Minjeong, don't talk to your dad like that," her mom started, as she scoops some mashed potatoes and places them onto her plate, “Also, we're both curious how it all started.”

“Oh, goodness gracious.” Minjeong could only groan in utter embarrassment, asking God why she was blessed with a nosy family that loves to meddle with her love life.

“We're not really dating, Mr. and Mrs. Kim.” 

  She heard what Jimin said. Minjeong immediately whipped her head in her direction, silently watching the interaction.

“Oh, so you two aren’t dating?” She asked in disbelief. “But I just saw you two snogging yesterday.”

  Minjeong just internally groaned in utter hopelessness. Her mom always does a great job of annoying the hell out of her.

“We weren’t snogging, mom.” Frustratedly, she mutters, “Actually, we might have done that if you didn’t barge in unannounced.” 

 Minjeong had lost it. She was too annoyed to even comprehend what she was saying. Mr. Kim just coughs uncomfortably. Beomgyu simply covers his ears, looking elsewhere but at their banter, as he silently chews his food with masking indifference. Jimin was blushing so hard, she couldn’t even utter a word.

“Well, my child,” she gradually started. There was a bit of shock on her face. “Might as well I start buying contraceptives now," she simply states with a shrug.

“W—Why,” She fumbles in disbelief as she chokes the words out, “—do you need contraceptives?” her left eye twitching in annoyance, “We can’t impregnate each other!” 

  Minjeong had lost her nuts—utterly lost them. She can already imagine what it would look like if her mom bought contraceptives at a chemist’s shop on behalf of her. They live in a tiny suburban town. Her mom is a very devoted member of Castle Combe’s town council committee. Of course, everyone’s going to know! Minjeong could only wail in utter horror if that bullock happened.

“Ugh. Stop!” Beomgyu snapped. “I can’t deal with this anymore.” He took his plate like a drama Queen and stood up, saying, “I’ll go watch some football,” and proceeded to go to the living room.
