This chapter is my favorite. I like every bit of it. I kept re-reading it like a fool smiling the whole time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Happy reading. "Byun Mina!" Baekhyun called out and his sister raised her head a little too quickly. Suspicious of her reaction, Baekhyun narrowed his eyes and the girl lowered her head. A whimper from under the table had him bending to see what was the cause. Mina in an attempt to hide her doing, pushed down her dress quickly. But he had already seen it. This wasn't the first time. Letting out an exasperated sigh, Baekhyun reached out to pull the poor creature. The baby cat, now with human limbs and cat body wobbled awkwardly in clear discomfort. His Dad sitting on the couch with two of his siblings, looked over the reading table. Mr. Byun seeing what Baekhyun was holding let out a roaring laughter. "What a lovely thing you make darling." He sounded so proud of his daughter, prompting Baekhyun to click his tongue. Mina grinned happily in response to their Dad, but soon guiltily lowered her face when she caught sight of her big brother's clear announce. Annoyed that his Dad was encouraging the girl's obsession to make any animal human with her powers, Baekhyun looked at his mate for support. However Chanyeol wasn't paying attention to Baekhyun, which only fueled his annoyance. The shadow guard was busy arm wrestling Baekhyun's mom, something he couldn't for the life of him understand why they liked to compare strength every ing time they're in the same space. Mrs. Byun too didn't bother look their way, despite knowing what Mina was up to. She had always turned a blind eye to Mina's antics. The kitsune spoiled Mina so much, she rarely scold her youngest daughter. When Baekhyun brought up the matter, his mom insisted Mina was exploring out of curiosity and would stop after getting bored. But so far his sister hadn't. Goddess or not, Mina was his baby sister who he loved so much and he wouldn't allow his love for her stop him from scolding her on doing what shouldn't be done. At first it were random animals, getting turned to human, back and forth. However Zach gently told to her how it was important not to disturb the balance of life, and explained not all animals were meant to have human form, and she had reluctantly shifted her focus to hellacats. Though all hellacats carry a part of spirit animals and now that the latter were revived, it wouldn't take long for them all to take human shape as long as the magic was enough. But Mina seemed impatient to let things happen on their own, and was speeding the process. When none were left in hella and the capital, she had taken a different course. She went for the babies. All spirit animals' young were born as their designated animals, until they reached certain age, between five to ten, then would have their first humanoid shift. From then they would be able to take both their animal and human form relatively at will. There were only a few young at the moment, which limited Mina's exploration. And then Lyla gave birth. After Lyla's birth of her cubs eight months ago, they had been at the center of Mina's attention. The one currently in Baekhyun's arm was the youngest of four, and getting his first experience of Mina's powers. For some unfathomable reason to Baekhyun, Zach and Lyla were okay with Mina babysitting their cubs, despite fully aware of what occurred during the session, but didn't mind, they even seem to encourage Mina to explore her magic on their cubs. But not Baekhyun. Placing the poor creature on the table, Baekhyun gesture toward his sister. With guilty eyes, Mina extended her hand and rainbow light engulfed the cub. When she pulled her hand back, the cub was back to how it had been. He still couldn't believe how powerful his sister was, and Baekhyun was in awe whenever she used her magic. Excited, the cub wagged its tail, paws bouncing as if to make sure it was back to its black baby cat without human limbs. A young boy walked over, shyly peeping at the cub, his round eyes filled with wonder. And Baekhyun observed him without words. When he caught Baekhyun's eyes on him, a toothy grin graced his Cherub like face and Baekhyun's heart skipped a beat. Baekhyun reached out and the boy eagerly jumped to sit on his lap. He was so small, barely three and just looking at him brought immense happiness to Baekhyun. He was their chosen son named Stephen, one of the kids injected with heavenly energy, but unlike the others, Steph's powers were yet to manifest, thus it was unclear what he was capable of. The boy resembled Chanyeol and at one point Baekhyun had thought he could actually be Chanyeol's biological son, whom the rich brat didn't know about. It would make sense, considering back then, Chanyeol didn't keep count or remember the faces of his flings. But that wasn't the case. The scent didn't match, besides Steph was human with no trace of being a spirit user, which wouldn't be possible if he were Chanyeol's biological son. No one knew but Baekhyun had secretly done a DNA test just to be sure. When Chanyeol found the result in his room, the shadow guard had laughed so hard his whole body shook with it, tears running down his cheeks, which indicated how funny he found the whole thing. He had teased Baekhyun for days to the point Baekhyun regretted ever agreeing to marry Chanyeol. He could picture his bleak future already. "Cain, come!" Steph made a gesture and the baby cat trotted toward him. Picking the cat up, Steph turned to glance at Baekhyun. "Dada I keep Cain?" Baekhyun couldn't help his laughter as he shook his head. "No baby, we can't keep him." "Why?" He pursed his lips cutely. Baekhyun pinched the boy's face softly. "Because he has parents that would worry if they don't see him." Seeing the boy didn't understand, Baekhyun chose to explain in a way he would comprehend. "You see, when you go to visit someone else's house and they ask to keep you, would you like that?" Baekhyun could see the gears turning in his son's tiny head. "No Dada and Daddy?" "Nope, without us." "No Mina?" He glanced at the said girl, then to the other Byuns. "No grandpa and grandma?" "Nope" "But I want Dada and Daddy" his face contoured, it was clear he was about to cry, just by the thought of never seeing his parents. Smiling Baekhyun, rubbed his son's face."That's exactly how Cain will feel." His teary eyes went wide as realization dawned on him, he shook his head repeatedly. "No, we can't keep him." He concluded, sniffing. Baekhyun nodded, leaning to drop a kiss a to his forehead. "No we can't." "You're an amazing Dad." A voice said next to his ear and the next moment Chanyeol wrapped an arm around his shoulder. Despite Baekhyun's effort to appear indifferent, Chanyeol rest his chin on Baekhyun's shoulder and snuggled him from behind. His eyes look frontward, ignoring the cozy warmth that held him like a blanket and his fiance that had finally decided to acknowledge his existence. Baekhyun glanced at his mom when he sensed her eyes on him. She was sat on his dad's lap, making a gesture with her hand. Soon he understood she was motioning to Mina. Thus he looked at the girl. Catching sight of Mina pouting, Baekhyun beckoned her and she eagerly left her seat, coming to stand next to him. Watching her almost pleading eyes, he nearly laughed. It was clear she wanted to reconcile and Baekhyun was right when she spoke. "I am sorry." Her lower lip sticking out, looking nothing like the powerful goddess, that could wipe the whole earth if she wished. She was just a little girl, his little sister. Emotions welling in him, Baekhyun hugged her with one arm, dropping a kiss to her forehead too. "Let things happen on their own" He told her. His sister nodded, burying her head in his chest next to Steph."Okay." She mumbled. "Whenever you feel the urge to create art, spend more time with little Aurora instead." Chanyeol suggested, reaching to brush through Mina's hair. "Let's not make big brother mad, yeah?" Again the girl nodded, round eyes on Baekhyun as if to make sure he was no longer mad. Baekhyun could never stay mad at his baby sister. To prove he was no longer upset, he pulled her tighter into his arm. Mrs. Byun let out a shrill sound, startling them to look at her direction. She was jumping excitedly like a child, her device in hand, it was clear she just got off the phone and whatever she heard seem thrilling. "Mama what happened?" Jaeyun asked. "I just spoke with the in law.The Parks are coming in a week time to set a date for the wedding." She informed, jumping into her husband's arms who readily caught her. The room erupted in cheers,Jaeyun stomping his hooves in a way fauns did when happy. His other siblings hopped from one place to another, imitating the faun while cheering. Even Steph who obviously had no idea what a wedding was, clapped his tiny hands happily. "Dada  wedding?" "Yes, Dada and Daddy are getting married soon." Chanyeol told the boy. "We'll always be together with Steph. I will get to see you always, unlike now that your Dada keeps you all to himself." Even more happy by the prospect, Steph wiggled on Baekhyun's lap, as Cain was placed on the table. Mina grinned, looking up at him. "Congratulations bro." Baekhyun grunted in response, which prompted the girl to laugh pleasantly. "If not i know you're happy inside, I might think you're getting into an arranged marriage." "We're gonna have a wedding soon. I have so much to plan." His mom was saying typing on her phone as she hastily made for the door and his Dad followed after his wife. Before Baekhyun could react to stop them, the door was shut. Damnit. The whole pack was going to hear about it in a few minutes time. Chanyeol draw Baekhyun into a warm embrace, the kind of embrace that made him feel as if the universe was holding him—it felt safe and secure. Suddenly Baekhyun felt it wouldn't be so bad to get married. With a helpless shake of his head, Baekhyun leaned back to accommodate his son and sister as well as, feel his mate's warmth. "We're getting married!" Chanyeol murmured into his ear. He sounded so excited that his body trembled. Baekhyun hummed,a smile taking over his face. "I guess we are." **** "KIM KAI!!!" Sehun hollered, fury in his eyes as they narrowed on his husband who was in the middle of sipping a tea. Placing the cup down, Kai quickly rose to his feet."My love is everything alright?" He asked, reaching out to hold Sehun. However, who would have thought Sehun would smack the hand and glare at him fiercely."Don't my love me" Kai swallowed hard, quite aware of what made his husband furious. The doctor– Yixing had sent him a message regarding Sehun's visit with one word, positive. Sehun had been feeling off lately, which was usual for a magic user with abundance of healing powers. Thus he had wanted to see Seokjin for a full check up. However Kai had discouraged him, remaking it was surely nothing to worry about. He was afraid alright. Being the emperor didn't give him leeway when it came to his husband. And Sehun could be quite scary when he was pissed. "With the dragon in me, I am capable of controlling my seedlings. In other words, you will not conceive unless I allow it" Sehun quoted Kai's exact words from the night of their mating, two and half years ago and Kai winced. "So explain to me how the am I pregnant when you could control it?" Both hands were placed on his waist, his whole aura screaming negative, at same time, it was like he was trying to rein in his strange, suffocating sense of anger as best he could. Kai blinked slowly, wishing Hyunjin or the twins were around so that he could shamelessly use them as shield. "I told you five years. But it's not even three!" Sehun slammed a hand on the desk and Kai tried hard not flinch. How did they end up like this? Well it was due to Kai's intensions to have more kids. He knew Sehun wanted to wait until five years, but the dragon in him was going insane and impatient with the need to see his mate heavy with child so he could pamper Sehun and get to feel what it was like to accompany his husband through pregnancy. Thus a few months ago during his heat, Kai deliberately let his seed take root inside Sehun. Five years? There was no way his dragon would wait that long. Sehun didn't need to know that though. Kai could simply say it was an accident, he got carried away and forgot to control the conception. "Don't even think about lying to me" Sehun growled, his fangs dropping, feline claws scraping the wood, it was clear Sehun was imagining those claws on or in Kai. Damnation! How could Kai think he could deceive Sehun when they're bonded and Sehun could read his emotions? So with his lowered Kai confessed everything. When Kai let it all out, Sehun's eyes soften and Kai was relieved, thinking his mate was going to pull him into a hug and murmured it was alright now,  he understood Kai's need. But to Kai's disappointment that wasn't what happened. His expectations seemed to have taken a nose dive right into the pacific ocean. Sehun pinned him with a level look. "Taking advantage of the fact I was high on to miss your schemes during your last heat".He wiggled his finger, his tone accusing. But that was what actually happened. Kai knew it was hard for Sehun to realize what he was up to, when he was high on desire, thus took advantage of the situation and impregnated him."As pay back for deceiving me, no – of any kind for the whole period of my pregnancy!" He declared. "What?" Kai let out, walking around the table, but stopped in tracks when Sehun gave him another hard look, glaring at him with an ice-cold face meant to freeze him out and it did. "That's seven months from now!" He finished the words in a low grumbling tone, but was certain Sehun had him, if the way Sehun quirked an eyebrow was any indication. Sehun was three months in and he would have to carry their child for ten months, and if Kai calculated with postpartum it would take more than that. Honestly Kai couldn't imagine going that long without release. No release wasn't the issue. If it was what he seek,  Kai could use his hand. But not being inside his mate's body for long would nearly drive him insane, especially when said mate was shrouded in pregnancy glow. It was torture and Sehun knew it. Maybe, just maybe his mate would be to seek . Kai was counting on the fact that all Sehuns get during pregnancy. Hopefully his Sehun wasn't any different from the rest. Crossing his arms over his chest, Sehun snickered. "Be thankful I am still keeping you." He said it so casually and Kai couldn't help but gawk in disbelief. "Or maybe I should take the kids for a long vacation somewhere very far from here. Wouldn't it be great? I am sure they'd love it." A smile that lacked what made it a smile curved Sehun's mellow lips. "Ah the elfin king and the Jaguar has been asking me to come visit" he had a thoughtful look as if considering his options. "A vacation in Lyfe or the Jaguar's world?" Knowing his husband was capable of doing exactly what he said, Kai shook his head rapidly. Unlike Sehun, Kai didn't have access to any of the universes, if Sehun were to take the kids and go for a vacation there was no way for Kai to follow. Damn his doppelgangers for not giving him one of those devices. It seemed the Kais lacked sentiment values for one another, unlike Sehuns. Kai rather live without than have his mate and kids away for goddess know how long. If he was still without his dragon, Kai might be able to endure for some time, but not now, not never."But what about my ruts?" He crossed his fingers as he asked. Sehun rolled his eyes. "You wouldn't have them when I am pregnant. I am your mate, your heats are tied to my conceptions" So he knew. Damnit. Kai had wanted to use that as an excuse to his mate. Sehun snorted derisively and shook his head."Any more excuses?" He unfolded his arms, shoving one inside his pocket while the other found his belly. The last act must be subconscious and Kai resisted the urge to not smile. As angry as he was with Kai, Sehun was already in love with their unborn child. This realization made Kai's heart melt into a sweet fluffy goo that spread all over his chest, but kept his expression pitiful. Kai shook his head again. "No, I am sorry" he pouted, hoping to gain some leniency. "But can't you think things some more?" He made sure to look as pitiful as possible. Sehun hummed, his expression and emotions not giving away what was on his mind, whether he accepted the apology or not."Then we're done here!" Saying so, he turned, his two coloured hair flowing beautifully behind him as he headed toward the exit. It meant he didn't or did he? Kai wasn't sure. Though Kai wanted to follow his man and coax him. But knowing Sehun like the back of his hand, he didn't dare and could only helplessly watch his husband leave, slamming the door as he left.
